I paid $50 and it was well worth it. I am 65 and have had 7 colonoscopies in the past. I had to do them annually for several years due to polyps. For my procedure last month, I was prescribed Prepopik for the first time. I am now a huge fan. My procedure was in the afternoon. Since there were some negative reviews, I did make a couple "enhancements" to the procedure to make sure it worked well. I was told I could have breakfast the day before, but chose not to. Instead, I took 4 Dulcolax pills to get things started. But the prep itself was like a miracle. All my previous preps have involved the equivalent of drinking a gallon of sea water. I knew big Pharma could do better, and it definitely has. The 5 ounces you drink has almost no taste. And then you can drink all the apple juice and other clear liquids you want. Do that twice and you are ready. EVERY OTHER PREP SHOULD BE OUTLAWED AS CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT. I told my doctor I would have a monthly colonoscopy (if needed) if I could use this prep. We patients should go on strike and refuse to use any other prep. UNITE!!

I am an RN. Other preps make me vomit and I can barely get through the liquid usually half. prepokit is the best thing since sliced bread. Costly, but worth every penny. Mixed mine with Tang. 8oz. No bad taste. Drank clear liquid, white grape juice, clear soda. next 8oz same. Works ! From 4pm till 6am cleaned me out. Will only have Prepokit for my prep.G

I am doing the PICO-SALAX (PREPOPIK) preparation right now and am wondering if I can drink more than Five (5) 8- ounce drinks of clear liquid within the 5 hours recommended by the doctor's office. Any ideas how more liquid can affect the process? Thanks

I took Prepopik at 4pm and at 8pm, and only drank water through the day before the procedure.I did not feel anything after the first dose and 5-6 hours after the second one.I finally worked at 2am.

I used Pico-Salax(Canadian version made by same pharmaceutical company) for my colonoscopy prep since Prepopik was so expensive. During the prep I was concerned because it was so simple, painless, and not uncomfortable and it seemed as though I was not on the throne as often as when I used the horrible Saline Solution;. However it worked perfectly, the doctor confirmed I was very clean and the procedure went excellently. I was so thrilled I actually called friends that if they were going for a colonoscopy INSIST on using the Pico-Salax

It cost me $47 and it was much easier to take then the ones I used before, reason being that it was a very small amount to have to drink. Having said that the stuff DID NOT WORK well enough to get the colonoscopy. What a waste of money and time!

Hi - did it end up cleaning you out enough for your procedure?

Get a kick out of prep kits. The chemical ingredients total in cost of <$1.00, but some kits are over $100. Notice how readily the doctors prescribe the expensive kits, kickbacks are alive and well in the medical practice.

I was so anxious about using Prepopik because of all of these posts that said it did not work, made the sick, etc. I started my prep at 5 pm today. My Dr. prescribed an anti-nausea medication that I took first, just in case. I mixed the Prepopik with 5 oz of water and stirred it for a full 3 minutes. The cup got a little warm. The smell of it is really pleasant, like orange seltzer. The taste was not bad at all. About an hour after I took it, I had a loose bowel. An hour after that it was water. It is now around 9:45 - I am still going a little bit here and there, but it is clear. Not looking forward to doing it all over again at 2 am, but I am not afraid, now that I know what to expect. No side effects for me so far, and zero cramps. This is my 3rd colonoscopy. The first one I had the gallon of sea water (colyte, I think). The 2nd one was Suprep. That cleaned me out very well too, but the taste of it made my physically ill - I was gagging it down and could not finish the second dose. Prepopik so far is soooooooooooooooooo much better than the other two! I had to post this, because there must be other people out there afraid to use it after reading some of these posts, like I was. It is a breeze so far. One thing I did that really helped, I think, is that I followed a low residue diet for the past 5 days and took a stool softener every other day this week, as I tend to be constipated. I also kept myself very hydrated yesterday and today with Gatorade. Hope this helps anyone who will be using it soon :)

Had procedure for the first time at 7am this morning--started Prepopik at 4pm--started working around 6pm--walking around helps--keep hydrated--next packet at 9pm--up till about midnight but was okay until I woke up at 5am--easy procedure--insurance covered my cost of it so can't help with that---everyone needs to understand that bodies react differently--in my opinion it wasn't bad

Used prepopik for first time with my 4th colonoscopy 8 days ago. Nothing but clear liquids day before procedure drinking first dose of prepopik at 6pm. Within 20 minutes I was doubled over with cramping, discomfort in center of abdomen and very loose stool. This all continued until I took second dose at 10pm then things got worse. The burning seemed much worse than previous bowel Prep even though this time I researched and took steps to combat it. By midnight everything was bright yellow water that burned like fire. Before procedure, told doctor all of this and said I still have this bloating and uncomfortable knot in center of abdomen. Didn't eat much for several days after colonoscopy because have continued to just not feel right. Finally started pooping 2 days ago and poop is very very light, almost white. Anyone else have this symptom?

Took 1st dose at 5:00 p.m., 2nd not to be taken until sometime in night, but I'm going to follow suggestions some of you made to take it before going to bed. I followed 1st dose with 40 oz. of clear liquids as per instructions, been on liquid diet since late last night, but nothing has happened so far & it's 9:25. I'm taking 2nd dose @ 10:00 p.m. in prep for 10:15 a.m. procedure. I've had no side effects so far except slight headache. Like most of you, I'll never use the dulcolax & miralax again. So glad I insisted on an alternative & so glad I was heard. This Prepopix orange-flavored powder tastes just fine & was easy to drink, so I highly recommend it. My prescription was free--not sure why--maybe I've met my deductible since my benefit year ends 8/31.

I paid $140.00 because my insurance does not cover this. Insurance does cover other brands. This did not seem to work as well as others for me nor as fast. I would not use again.
