Pain Management In Naples Fl

Looking for a pain management Dr in Naples, Fl. Currently seeing one in Fort Myers and I think I am going to have to make a change. I need a Dr who will listen to me, not judge me or make me feel judged. I have scoliosis, arthritis, degenerative disc disease and protruding disc and once I told my dr my medicine wasn't as effective, (after 3 years) the PA decided to wean me off of my meds as if I did something wrong for being truthful. I hardly take anything as is, I only take hydrocodone 7.5, 4x a day. And now they have me on 5 3xs a day. Compared to what other people at pain clinics take, I think I'm doing farely well, so I don't see why it has become an issue. I'm so bummed , I really liked and trusted this office after almost 3 years and then suddenly when my dr was busy was seen by a PA who specializes in detoxification and psychiatry. ??? And now this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just looking for a Dr. Who will help me get my life back in order and no bs. Thanks so much

Oh and is it hard to switch pain management Drs? I don't want it to seem like in dr shopping. This is my first time

I too suffer from Scoliosis and have intsrumentation have had three surgerys...I had a physician for 25 years who had my pain under control... My insurance changed and the doctor I went to took me off 98% of my meds... I ended up in the hospital due to withdrawal for a week that was a year ago..when I went to a new doctor she sent me to pain management...who placed me on Lyrica..it controlled the pain but the side effects left me in a suicidal state..I had to stop taking it and it left me with some nerve damage...I am in the process of changing doctors due to neglecting my symptoms and treating me like some sort of a drug addict..we now have a big problem now here in Florida getting help for legitimate pain... I wish you the best of luck

Unfortunately the DEA has made it even harder for patients who need relief , it's already near impossible to get pain relief due to Doctors being terrified of the DEA.

A few weeks ago they made it a lot harder than it already was , there is going to be a lot of miserable people who suffer immense pain day in day out because of it.

Hi Debbie, I can't help you out from where I'm at. But just wanted to add something that I think is going on all over the country. The dea a fda have got the writing doctors as low as they can go. ANY REAL pain clinic you go to Medicare will not cover them because they write narcotics. I have humana and there are so many pain clinics available in their network that it would make you scream. However, try to get them to write an opiate script and it its automatic doctor shopping, These so called network pain clinics will usually do the old give you a shot where it hurts or stupid epidurals , things to that nature. Unfortunately, they have paper guru's telling how many people OD on OP's from their dumb stats. I even think they have the doctors believing this too. Next thing you know it will all be underground and let the killings triford.
