I live in Florida and im one of the many people that dont abuse the narcotic pain medications i have to go through h*** to get a hold of each month. i visited my pain management dr this morning and she told me that the meds will be removed from the market and that they may introduce a new form of it 18 mos from the time its stopped being made. she said its some pill that when crushed or damaged turns into a crytal like super hard substance. i could care less what happens when theyre broken for i take mine whole and not once have i ever got a "buzz" from them.
BASICALLY IS THIS INFORMATION TRUE BECAUSE IF SO I WILL HAVE TO END MY LIFE RATHER THAN PUT MYSELF IN THE PAIN I WAS IN BEFORE THESE MIRACULOUS MEDICINES CAME INTO MY LIFEE. I CANT PUT ANY MORE PRESSURE ON MY FAMILY THAN WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE. i dont want to die. i live a pretty good life with these medications and im so afraid of not having the lifestyle i have now and to be in such agony that it makes life not worth living. please someone tell me this isnt true and my pm doctor doesn't know what he's talking about. im 35 with several fractures to spinal area and crippled without these medications.

The formulation of Oxycontin was actually already changed last year, it is very similar to what she mentioned, if someone tried to crush or cut the tablet, it turns into a gummy substance that retains its time released properties.

It wasn't removed from the market, it was just slowly transitioned to the new formula, as the old one sold out.
I've not found any other information stating that it is going to be discontinued for any period of time, or changed again.

Hi there try this life l3 spinal compression .Motorcylce accident .Made a left hand turn on a red light , got tboned by a 57 Chevy flew 33 ft away from the accident scene. My dr for the past 9 yrs introduced me to oxy80's I had a Quaility of life He knew I also puffed the odd joint so I could eat . Then he takes me off the oxy cause I did not stop the pot.
My life has been hell I sit and only cry for the life and how active I was, this Dr should be put into my shoes just for one day the BASTARED!!!

You should just stop smoking weed so you can keep your meds. If you need to have weed and pills to feel better then move to California where its legal. Otherwise quit smoking, & call your doctor when its out of your system and tell him you quit and I'm sure he'll take you back as a patient.

Yeah sure and you live in Florida, your state is the whole reason oxy is so f***ed up. If you had a real problem, real doctor, real insurance, and a real need for the drug, your doctor, insurance company and pharmacy could answer all your questions. u wouldn't have to go to a website for your Q AND A. NOT A DOCTOR, PHARMACY, INSURANCE, COMPANY THAT WILL SAY IM WRONG.

that is completely untrue. They are stopping the manufacturing of the lp extended release oxycontin. Due to its long-term side effects they are actually coming back out with the original blue greenish round OC 80

We’re all hearing it, they tried to stop it in 2011. They have been mandated to cut the strength, but it will hurt a lot of people who are in pain, real bad pain and drug dealing pain. I am certainly not looking forward to detoxing. In 1985 I learned of something called MTS which is where they put an electronica magnet on the left side of your head and it is magical with depression, but also with pain. Medicaire still had it to give approval a few years ago but I got so sick I just had to stop fighting to get my needs met, but It is much easier now to get treated that way and I believe it to be magical for Some, and I will try to make an appointment tomorrow As well as seeing my neurologist who I haven’t for years as well as seeing my neurologist who I have been to for years It’s showtime and it’s a hard time for me I’ll let you know what happens if you’d like
