Oxycodone Has It Taken Over My Life/health?

I have been under a doctor’s care for the past five years. I’ve had ankle surgery, as well lower back surgery. Started off with Hydrocodone 10mg. Then another doctor, which I have to date, switch me to, Meloxicam 90 count 7.5mg three times a day. Cyclobenzaprine 90 count 10mg, three times a day. Oxycodone 90 count, 10mg three times a day. Then to Oxycodone 120 count, 15mg, four times a day. Then to Oxycodone 180 count, 15mg, six times a day. Then to Oxycodone 210 count, 15mg seven times a day. I don’t know if what I’m feeling, going thru is related from Oxycodone? I have lost my sex drive as of today. Doctor has given me Viagra 100mg back about two years ago to help me get my sex drive back. It help at first, now two years later, No sex drive at all. My wife thinks I’m not happy with her anymore, because of my sex drive. We fight a lot of times because of this. I have lost some of my teeth from the past year or so. I have no energy what so ever, unless I take another Oxycodone 15mg. I have anxiety every day. When the night falls I lay in bed scared out of my wits. I have a lot of fear. Thinking something or someone is breaking into our house. A lot of times, I lay in bed feeling my chest getting very tight, breathing feels very hard to do, Pains shooting up and down my leg and arm. Advice the doctor of this, Doctor gives me Buproion, advising me it comes from anxiety. I have ask the doctors many times about testing my organs for anything that be caused from Oxycodone. Have pains in my lower stomach area and cheat area. Doctor advise me to get with my family doctor because of what I’m feeling as of pains in my chest, lower stomach. Doctor advise me to stop taking the Meloxicam 90 count 7.5mg three times a day, doctor stated that taking it for the past four years should not be working anymore, wow, I have taken this Medication for four years now and now he wants to tell me that. I have taken Meloxicam 10mg three times a day for four years. I hope it isn’t a cause to something that is going on within my body. As well for Cyclobenzaprine 10mg three times a day for the past four years as well. I have taken all medication as prescribe each and every day for the past four years. I’m to the point of I don’t care. I don’t care to go anywhere. It’s getting to the point, which my wife is going to throw me to the curb from all of this. I feel deep down inside, that my body is in need of extra care and I could die from anything, all because of taking all the medication over the past five years. Before all of this, I loved life to the fullest. Now I feel I don’t like to be around others. As well tell anyone of your problems, because everyone gets tired of hearing I’m hurting. What can I do?

Wow! You have really been on a roller coaster and I am sorry for what you're going through.

Yes, it is possible that the Meloxicam being taken for that long of a period of time could have caused some problems with your stomach, or liver.

And most of the medications you've mentioned can cause the depression symptoms you've been feeling, as well as the loss of your sex drive.

Matthew, I read your post and thought you were writing about me. I had major back surgery 3 years ago, but on pain pills for years before that. Last week I decided I can't take it anymore. I have a beautiful wife of 14 years and 2 boys (I lost my job). Matthew I was so scared, but I sat my wife and kids down and I explained through tears that I am addicted to this medication and that I was sorry for all the pain I have caused over the last few years. Matthew I was so scared they were going to get up and walk out. I felt I had let them down, I felt weak and ashamed. You know what they did? They stared crying. They said that they had been waiting for me to ask for help and now that I have we can get through this as a family. I know it's not going to be easy getting off these pills, but now that I have my wife and kids back I know I can do it (my wife smiled at me today, the first time in years it feels like and I felt strengh from it). Matthew just one more thing, you can't blame yourself for being addicted and you're not weak because of this. I can't guarantee your wife will do the same as mine, but she might surprise you if you give her the chance. I looked at it this way, if I didn't change what is my end game? Either alone or dead in a few years was the answer I found in my heart. Matthew the silence, lies, and fear will go away one way or the other if you get the issue out in the open. Your wife might be wishing everyday that you seek help.
