Was cyclobenzaprine included in the study by the military regarding the efficacy of medications after their expiration date? ## I found reference to the military study you mentioned, on Harvard University's webpage [cited below] and do not see any mention of Cyclobenzaprine there. I recently had cervical spine surgery (fusion of 3 levels). Before the surgery I was prescribed 500mg methocarbamol three times daily. After the surgery I am now prescribed 10mg cyclobenzaprine. Can you tell me the difference between these two medications? ## They are both muscle relaxants, but the base chemicals are different, so one, or the other may work for each different person that tries it, since we are all different. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. How is the new one working for you?

is it still ok to take these pill two months after experation? ## Hi tonya, You might be surprised to know that certain drugs are actually okay to take for up to 15 years after expiration, whereas others such as antibiotics can become toxic. My personal assumption is that two-month old Cyclobenzaprine should be perfectly fine to take. Given the option, I would still feel safe taking it within that time frame. The article linked below, by Harvard University, should help shed some light on the topic of expired medication: health.harvard.edu/fhg/updates/update1103a.shtml I hope this info helps! ## Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant and it doesn't get dangerous once past the expiration date, but it can lose some effectiveness. I doubt there would be a lot of chance just 2 months past ...
