meloxicam works the day you take it
meloxicam is taken instead of advil. it is used like advil or tylenol or alieve. it should work the day you take it. it should not take days or weeks fr you to notice a difference in pain levels. i take it daily along with my other pain medications,, and if i forget it the narcotic meds do not even work as well. they are both necessary ## Hello, Allison! How are you? Thank you for your post. You are correct, traditional analgesics, including NSAIDs, such as Meloxicam do work as soon as you take them, they don't require a certain period of time to reach their full efficacy level, which is why they are often prescribed to be taken as needed. And the reason narcotics don't seem to work as well without it, is because NSAIDs and Acetaminophen potentiate the action of narcotics, so it...

I am on cronic medicine for high blood presure. Is this symptoms from the Coxflam? ## Hello, Purdy! How are you? The Coxflam contains Meloxicam, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and this class of medications is usually contraindicated with chronic high blood pressure, because it can cause blood pressure elevations. Was it prescribed by the same doctor that treats for you for your hypertension?

How are you? Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling, so it may help. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. However, have you consulted a dentist? That would be the best thing to do. Treatment may be required to prevent this degenerating further and causing more severe problems in the future.

Afraid to start long term use of Meloxicam, or any NSAID for chronic body pain and back pain.
I have recently quit taking pain meds that I have taken for the past ten years. I was up to 8 Vicoprofen and 4 Tramadol every day. I was so tired of getting up and felling horrible from the toxins in the opoides that I just don't want to do it anymore. However, now I have to deal with how painful it is without the meds and how tired I am. I shower every morning and try to take a 2 mile walk each day, but I am too tired and sore to keep it up. I was hoping a good NSAID would help me, but am so afraid it will have severe physical affects...possibly non-reversible. The side effects on the bottle are nothing compared to the research I have found on the computer. I watched my mother go thru many months of daily dialysis and then eventually chose to quit and she passed away by drowning in...

expiration date 10/13 meloxicam
Meloxicam 7.5mg expired 10/13 is it ok to take. Thank you ## Hi Babe! Medications can b expired for years and still b safe 2 take. They may lose their potency, but r safe. ## @Babe, "Most" medications (aside from tetracycline) are still considered safe to take even up to 15 years beyond the expiration date. Harvard Medical School wrote an article about this too, discussing how the US military drew that conclusion after examining stockpiles of old medication. They didn't list the names of any particular drugs, so unfortunately I don't know which medications were used in the study. However, I'd imagine something like Meloxicam with proposed analgesic and fever reducing effects, to be a drug of interest upon making such claims. Would you say was it stored properly all t...

Hand pain
Hi. I took Meloxicam 15mg tablet for 14 days. it was a white round pill. Doc told me not to take Advil with it but I could take Tylenol. I took the last pill 48 hours ago. How long before I can take Advil? ## Hello, Pearl! How are you? The reason he told you not to take Advil with it is because both it and Meloxicam are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, so taking them together would be doubling up and raises the risk of possible liver damage and bleeding. However, only a few days are necessary between them to safely switch. None of them linger that long. Unless your doctor specifies otherwise. Is there anything else I can help with?

availability of meloxicam
Express Scripts is telling me they cannot get Meloxicam 15mg from the manufacturer. Is there a problem? ## Hello, Skyblue! How are you? I'm sorry, but I haven't found any information on their being a shortage or anything. Have you tried a local pharmacy? This medication is an NSAID and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation.
