Bursitis and Fallen
I have been taken meloxicam for a week for bursitis in my right hip. Since I started this med I have fallen on my spine. I then took meloxicam with alieve only 5 gels. Stopped when I was told that this was not right. Started taking Tylenol now. My question is will this amount of alieve be real serious? Also can meloxicam cause stomach area to swell. Seems like mine has. ## Hello, Mickey! How are you? Both the Meloxicam and the Aleve are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so taking both is bascally doubling up on the same medication and your doctor may want to check your liver function, since you took both. The swelling could be due to fluid retention, which it can sometimes cause, so you also need to have that checked out by your doctor. Are there any other questions or concerns?

is meloxicam a sulfa drug
Is meloxicam a sulfur drug? If you are allergic to sulfur can you take meloxicam? ## Hello, Suzy! How are you? Are you allergic to sulfur, or to sulfa drugs? They aren't actually the same exact things. When you are talking about being allergic to the sulfa drugs it actually refers to Sulfonamides. And no, Meloxicam isn't one of them. It is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

meloxicam/ Crohn's
I was diagnosed with crohn’s about 6 months ago and the last month I’ve been having bad lower back pain. I recently went to a pain clinic and got prescribed meloxicam 7.5 mg 2x, Duloxetine dr 30mg, and Baclofen 10mg 3x. I’ve been having bad nausea, and still having back and stomach pain. I was wondering if anyone has been prescribed this for crohn’s pain, or can tell me what you’re prescribed for pain associated with crohns pain, Thanks! ## Hello, Sam! How are you? Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it could be irritating your stomach, they are very well known for doing that. I'm not even sure why they prescribed it, if you already having stomach pain. Did they provide anything to help with the nausea? ## no i just started it on the 2nd. ...

what is meloxicam 15 mg used for PLEASE HELP
I have been taking Mobic 15MG for 10 days and I can't tell its helping me at all with my inflammation in my back and neck, plus I have a pinched nerve. How long does it take to start working on this? Also I have been taking a prescribed dosage of Potassium Chloride 10MEQ (what it says on the prescription bottle) but been on the Potassium for a few years. Is this a bad combo? Could this be why I'm hurting worse in the shoulders and neck/back of head? Wondering since Mobic increases sodium levels if I should stop taking my Potassium? Please help.. Thanks ## Hello, Tony! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. When is the last time you had a blood test done to check your potassium levels? Those symptoms could be caused by your potassium level being too...

pain medicine in sioux falls, sd
I am looking for a doctor in sioux falls, sd that's not "afraid" to prescribe narcotic pain meds. I've had severe back pain for years, have been through chiropractors, physical therapy, injections, nothing helped. I feel like I just had to learn to live with the pain. Since having 2 kids, the pain has increased immensely, but my current Doc will not give me anything that helps. I have tried meloxicam, gabepentin, tramadol (which I found I was allergic to, though it did help slightly), and feel I am about to overdose on naproxen and tylenol, because they are all I have access to and though they don't help, I keep hoping they may if I take enough. I need something to help me function normally so that I can be a good mother. I hate just dealing with the pain. Thanks in adv

meloxicam 7 5 mg
my wife has been taking this medicine for on and off for the past year if it causes liver problems and she drinks what would be a good advice for her considering we are getting a divorce. she the mother of my kids and I do care for her ## Hello, CW! How are you? Okay, it isn't that a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory does cause liver problems, but there is a risk that it might cause them. The same for the drinking and combining the two increases that risk. Since this is a prescription medication, is she seeing the prescribing doctor regularly? Because, if so, they should be monitoring her and occasionally doing blood work to check her liver function. And is that doctor aware that she drinks?

meloxicam 15 mg question
I am taking this for extreme pain in my shoulder & arm. How long does it take for this to take affect? Will I have to keep taking it to be able to work? My right arm is still not as good as my left arm. I've only taken one 15mg pill however. ## Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so while it can ease pain and swelling, it might not relieve all of it, when you're suffering from severe pain. It is not going to act like and be as effective as a narcotic analgesic. And yes, all medications only last for a certain period of time in your body, so you should follow your doctor's instructions for its use. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is this really meloxicam.
My meloxicam is white, round, no split in middle on either side and has 100 on one side. Can I take aspirin , aleve or advil withit. I took meloxicam about 8 or more hours ago. ## Hello, Jeanette! How are you? There is a round, pale yellow/off-white tablet with the marking 100 on one side that contains 15mgs of Meloxicam. Is that what you have? And no, you shouldn't mix the other medications with it, because Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, which is exactly what Aspirin, Aleve and Advil also contain, just different ones. Is there anything else I can help with?
