Is Meloxicam Gluten Free

I have been taking meloxicam for 1 1/2 weeks and I am experiencing celiac symptoms. I would like to know if meloxicam is gluten free ## Meloxicam is actually a generic medication, the name brand for it would be Mobic and, since it is a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies. Thus, I can't tell you anything about the inactive ingredients without more information from you, such as the markings on the tablet, or the name of the manufacturer. Can you please post back with this information? ## I would like to know if gluten is in my meloxicam. It's an oblong light yellow pill with a 15 stamped on it. Are meloxicam tablets (with an imprint of "ZC 26") gluten free? I have celiac... ## Yes, these tablets contain no ingredients that would cause them to contain gluten. Along with the active ingredient, they are listed by Zydus Pharmaceuticals as containing crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, trisodium citrate dehydrate, povidone and micocrystalline cellulose. The FDA classifies this medication as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's most commonly used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can coffee be drank with meloxicam?

I drink coffee and have been placed on Meloxicam and wonder if I should continue to drink coffee while on the medication? ## Hello, Larry! How are you? As long as your doctor approves, but it may cause more stomach side effects than you would have if you weren't drinking coffee. Meloxicam is classified by the FDA as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and they are well known to cause stomach irritation and possible ulcers, so the coffee could aggravate that. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

Just started meloxicam for arthitis. Have history of cancer, crohns desease, fybromyalgia and side effects from steroids being migrains. My doctor felt this would be a good med for my arthitis. Has anyone had history of migrains with this. I had a migrain issue that lasted for 11 days can this be from this? It has been helping with inflamation. Which is a big plus. I'm hoping this is a fluke but i m nervous abut starting up on it again? I do have a history of migrains prior to this med. Just wondering if this trigerd it? What other side effect should I watch for? ## Yes, given meloxicam 7.5mil back in June of 2009 when I had pain in the neck and had a headache. can meloxicam be taken with celecoxib ? ## Hi John, According to umm.edu's drug interaction checker, there are no interactions listed between Celecoxib and Meloxicam. This is not to say that no interactions exist period, but based on these findings I don't see any reason why you couldn't take them together unless instructed otherwise by your prescribing doctor. Also, as long as it was the same doctor who prescribed both meds, I highly doubt he/she would give you anything that couldn't be taken at the same time or at least within the same day, for safety reasons. They have to watch their own back just as much for risk of litigation if they ever did prescribe two contradicting drugs. I hope this helps!

if i take 15 mg of meloxicam daily can 10 prednisone
2 Replies RSS
I take 15 mg of meloxicam daily for degenerative arthritis. I also have been prescribed 20 mg of prednisone for gout. Can I take the prednisone now if I took my meloxicM 4-1/2 hrs ago? ## Hello, Kanakagurl! How are you? Actually, these medications tend to increase the toxicity of each other and increase the risk of gastrointestinal ulceration. Thus, before mixing them, it would be best to check with your doctor to make sure that it is safe for you to do so. You may need to go off the Meloxicam, while on the Prednisone. Prednisone is a steroid that may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, fluid retention, mood swings, weight changes and elevated blood pressure. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I just took my last dose of medrol this morning. It has done nothing for my...
