what is meloxicam 15 mg used for PLEASE HELP
I have been taking Mobic 15MG for 10 days and I can't tell its helping me at all with my inflammation in my back and neck, plus I have a pinched nerve. How long does it take to start working on this? Also I have been taking a prescribed dosage of Potassium Chloride 10MEQ (what it says on the prescription bottle) but been on the Potassium for a few years. Is this a bad combo? Could this be why I'm hurting worse in the shoulders and neck/back of head? Wondering since Mobic increases sodium levels if I should stop taking my Potassium? Please help.. Thanks ## Hello, Tony! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. When is the last time you had a blood test done to check your potassium levels? I can not stop this drug in the present condition. Any data is available on this subject..? Thanks in advance. ## Hi, Joy! Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so yes there may be some issues caused by long term use, such as stomach ulceration, edema, hypertension, congestive heart failure and liver damage. How long after taking meloxicam 15 mg could my potassium levels be high in a blood test?
My blood test came back with high levels of potassium. I took Meloxicam, 15mg and am hoping that is the reason. I took it almost a week before the blood test ## Hello, SEC! How are you? How high was it? It really shouldn't cause it to be elevated a week after taking it. Are you on anything else that adds potassium? Do you eat a lot of foods that add it? Are you taking any supplements? Do you drink a lot of fortified drinks, like Gatorade? Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that is used to treat pain, fever and swelling. taking half of 15mg meloxicam
I started taking meloxicam 15mg and asked my pharmacist if I can cut it in half because the full 15mg was giving me a side effect of shortness of breath. I been taking half of it for a week now and have no side effects but my back is still in pain. Should I try taking the full 15mg or cut a half of a half in half and take a third of the pill for a week and then start taking the full dose ## Hi anna, With all due respect, these are very personal dosing questions you're asking that are probably best discussed between you and your doctor. However from what I understand, due to safety reasons, it is usually a good idea to start off small and then work your way up to higher doses from there. Some people can make that decision incrementally based off how they feel, but I find that even th...
