I am currently prescribed opana 40 my 2 times a day problem is I just moved to Cleveland Area and finding docs here sucks. I am with one now who was the coolest and saw my records and prescribed my opana 40 mg right away. Problem is it's not enough and I run out early by a few days all the Time and I am super good about taking my meds but after being hit by drunk driver and life flighted I have extreme problems. At home I had connections to get a few extra but here I know no one and get tested so don't want to get a bad wrap. It's Friday and I'm going to be out Tommorow again and not due till wedensdsy. was just taken off 30 mg opana's and put on ms cotin 30 mg cr can anyone please tell me the differrence between the drugs are and should i experience any changes in my body fromthe change i was on opanas for about 2 years ## Well, the Oxymorphone in the Opana is actually stronger than the Morphine in the MS Contin, it takes roughly 90mgs of Morphine to equal 30mgs of the Oxymorphone, so depending on how often you were taking them in a day, you may actually run into experiencing some pain and withdrawal effects. Is there a specific reason they switched you to the MS Contin?

were can i get my opana scripts filled in the pittsburgh area ## The best place that seems to have a consistent supply of RX pain meds in Pgh is Asti's in the Sourh Hills. They never seem to give me a problem and always have stock of everything. Bonus is the pharmacist (Dan) is very friendly and never gives me a hard time ## You should probably check the place that Congo has mentioned. Otherwise, it is probably just a matter of time, before most pharmacies have them in stock, again. Opana was recently reformulated, so there was a slight shortage, due to the delay in production. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Opana is manufactured by Endo Pharmaceuticals. The problem here is that due to abuse and diversion, many of them don't cover controlled substances, especially since they don't consider them life sustaining medications. I did a search and the only thing I am finding on their site is a savings card offer that gives you $25 off each prescription, up to a maximum of $300 a year. Been taking 20mg opana er 2xs daily for the past 2 weeks. FINALLY have an appt with pm doc on October 18th. If I don't take anymore Opanas from today til then, will I pass their drug test? I've suffered w/chronic leg pain for almost 2 years & finally found a caring dr who referred me to a pm clinic. i have been sick with the fliu for 3 days, coild not keeo my medication down. I will be going tomorrow to get my refill, and I am out, would opana show in urine still ## The Oxymorphone in Opana should be detectable in a standard urine test for approximately 4 to 5 days, after last dosing. However, what you might run into is your levels being off. I'd suggest explaining the problem to your doctor, when you go in for the test, so they know that your levels may be off, due to your being ill. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was given opana 5mg by my doctor 3 months into it, I told them I had a concern with them, I felt they were mentally affecting me, they kept me on it.3 months later I had a break down, and ended up in a mental hospital, I have never had that happen to me and I believe it was something in that pill, they took me off of it and gave me something else, and I am back to my self now, I'm wondering if you have had this problem with other patients? ## It definitely sounds like you experienced some of the severe side effects from this medication. I'm not finding any with an S on them. However, there are some Sennoside laxatives that match this description, so that would be my first guess as to what you took. I can't be certain that's what it was, but it would make more sense. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I sniffed 10 mg of oana on Thursday at around 4:30 PM. I drank atleast 8 - 16 ounce bottles of water daily, and did 30 minutes on the treadmill daily, Sun- took 1000 mg of niacin + 3 8 ounce glasses of cranberry juice, Mon- 2 glasses of cranberry juice + 1500 mg of niacin, Took a urine test on Tuesday at 9 AM after peeing 3 times first. In my opinion Opana (OXYMORPHONE), is a much better drug than MSCONTIN. It works much more efficiently and is much, much stronger than MSCONTIN. I live with chronic pain MSCONTIN does nothing for it. My mother who is 88 said she rather take percocett. She had double knee replacement yrs ago which resulted in a failed surgery, I have a collaspe lumbar, so I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to pain medication. They should take mscontin out of the gold standard part, put it with the silver. ## Both the Oxymorphone in the Opana and the Oxycodone in the Percocet are known to be stronger and more potent than Morphine, so it makes sense that they may help some people more than Morphine does. Hello, I am 32 yrs old and have been on opana er 2 daily with an average of 5 vicoden daily for breakthrough pain management for 2 years now. I have the option of undergoing back surgery but no one is very optomistic that it will provide satisfactory pain relief. I am not big on taking pills but they do provide adequate relief. I am concerned about long term organ damage due to the medication since I have my whole life ahead of me. My grandfather was perscibed morphine for his cancer and experienced severe organ damage within a couple of years so I am concerned about taking drugs for rest of my life, especially since what I have read indicates that tolerances will build and doses will inevitably increase with time. It is a very potent pain killer. I have been taking this medication since Oct 09 and not only is it very strong, but it is extremely hard to get off of if you have been on it for over 2 weeks. The withdrawl is very bad. I had non stop vomiting when I tried to stop this medication. could opana and roxycodone cause a positive test result ffor methamphetimines? ## No, both the Oxymorphone in the Opana and the Oxycodone in the Roxicodone are synthetic opiates and this class of medications has been known to cause false positives for other synthetic opiates, but not for anything else. The shelf life of Opana ER is 3 years. It has been reported elsewhere that this product has a relatively short shelf life, but it was difficult to obtain a definite answer. As a result, we contacted the manufacturer directly (Endo Pharmaceuticals) at (866) 395-8301, and they were happy to provide us with an answer over the phone. We also mentioned that we were looking through their product information sheets and that this information was not available. They stated that the shelf life of Opana would not be mentioned in the PI sheets, and that we did the right thing by calling them directly.
