I got a urine test at my pain dr. office.It was positive for opana.I only take the prescribed dose of percocet.Why would this show up? ## The reason could be due to the fact that the Percocet you take contains a semi-synthetic opiate, Oxycodone. These have been known to sometimes cause false positive tests for other semi-synthetic or synthetic opiates and the Oxymorphone in the Opana is a synthetic opiate. This has actually been happening a lot recently, we've had quite a few posts with questions about it and the one thing you all have in common is that you are all taking some form of Oxycodone and having it show up as something else on a urine test. i think my sniffed a half of an 80 opana he has vomited and is swetting badly is this the sign of an overdose ## In the future, if you are worried about the health and life of a loved one, please contact your nearest emergency services department. The symptoms being experienced could be from the medication itself, or the signs of an overdose and only a doctor will able to determine which. How did the situation turn out?

Opana is terrible both IR and ER, same with Exalgo and even the 8 mg Dilaudid stinks soo folks those of us that truly need pain relief are now screwed. ## I am very sorry to read that you are having a problem. The Exalgo and the Dialudid both contain the same active ingredient, the narcotic Hydromorphine, so if one didn't work for you, then it makes sense that the other wouldn't, either. Opana contains Oxymorphone and from the title of your post, are you saying that the new Oxycontin doesn't work, either? If that is the case, what other options have you discussed with your doctor? I have been waiting for medicaid, my husband has medicare, both my son & I were not included on getting RX, or Dr's care. I have a urine test at my clinic tomorrow I took some opana today because I ran out of the roxys early. I want to know if the test will show the difference between taking an opana and taking the roxys. I hope I am not in trouble but it wast raining and I was out, I could not walk today and had no other acceptable options. ## It really depends on what type of test they do. They are some that just check for the presence of opiates, but there are others that check for the specific ones. Is this for pain management? I took morphine will it show as opana! ## No, Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, which has a different chemical structure, so both it and its metabolites would be different from those of Morphine, in the body. Even though they are both narcotics and in the same family, the tests should show them as different substances. I took an Opana on Saturday night around 10:00 or 11:00. I have a urine test the next morning at around 9:00. But before the urine test I drank about a gallon to a gallon and a half of water and urinated three times before I submitted the test. Will it come back positive? I am a really active person and have an above average metabolism. ## The half life of Opana is roughly 7-9 hours, so the odds of it showing up first thing in the morning are pretty high, given the time you took the pills and how long they may have taken to release their effects in your system (i.e.- whether or not you took them on a full stomach). ive been taking ocxy for bout four or five years now ive stopped cold turkey and went back but now they got these opanas and my aunt just got a script for real oc 40 i thought that they were off the market just like abgs does any body remeber those just kienthe real thing but i need some subs like asap can any one help me let me know i can also get what you need ## Purdue has stopped manufacturing the original formulation, with the OC marking, but places that still have it in stock are able to dispense it, until their supply is exhausted. When they run out and have to reorder, they will also be forced to start dispensing the new formulation, with the OC marking. Are there any other questions or comments?

I have been taking o pana's for about 7 1/2 months now. Everything from the 5 mg ir's to the 40 mg er's. I snort them. I have never actually took them oraly. Sometimes I snort up to 90 mg's a day. If I quit taking them 5-7 days before a drug screen. The highest form of urine drug screen you can take will I pass? Or should I quit sooner then that?
