Micardis Reviews

I would like to know how people are reacting to name brand Micardis 40 mg? I just started and am not sure if the side effects will get better over time. I.e., worse back pain (already have chronic back pain but seems to be worse since starting this), worse anxiety and depression, headache, stomach upset, general aches and pains in joints. I was on 80 mg of Lisinopril for 10 years ~ yes, 10 years! I had no problems with side effects or at least I thought I didn’t, but after being on it about 7 years I started to get bouts of severe gastritis which I blamed on too many steroid shots and also tinnitus. I had no idea that BP pills could cause so many long term side effects. I had to get off them when my pharmacy switched to Solco brand and they were terrible! Instant headache and severe pain in upper stomach. I had my doctor give me a new prescription and I tried HyVee, which is a large chain supermarket in the Midwest. They have more ability to order specific brands than my normal one. I told the pharmacist that I WOULD NOT accept any meds that were made in China or India. She checked and had a hard time finding any that weren’t made there, but said it looked like Parma was not made there (I had never heard of that brand, but thought I might as well try it). When my husband brought them home they were Lupin brand. I took one and my BP shot up to 200 and I started itching all over.

My forearm was bright red and itching like crazy. Needless to say that was the one and only pill I took. After researching for months on the best ACE or ARB as far as fewer side effects, Micardis seemed to have fewer complaints, but I know everyone is different and I am sensitive to certain meds anyway. I do know that I refuse to take any ANY med that is manufactured in China or India ~ they are garbage and perhaps dangerous. I think in the next few years people will be hearing a lot more about this subject. I can’t believe the FDA has not done more about monitoring the quality of these imported drugs. I never used to pay attention to what brand I was given until I started having extremely scary and dangerous reactions to the Percocet I was on for chronic back pain. Wow ~ that’s a whole other subject, but let’s just say there a lot of horrible meds, again, coming from other countries. I guess it will take people dying before the FDA does anything about it. Sorry, I got off the subject of Micardis, but my point is that from now on I am demanding that my doctor specifically writes “brand name only as medically necessary” on all my meds. It takes a little extra effort to deal with insurance companies, but doctors can do an override. Some people simply cannot take certain generic drugs. PERIOD. I’m not sure if I will be able to stick with Micardis, but I hope so. At least I know I’m getting a quality medication and not tainted garbage from a foreign country, but still am curious if anyone else has anything good or bad to say about the brand name Micardis. By the way, if it seems meds aren’t working as well as they used to for you, I highly recommend that you start researching whichever one you may have doubts with and you will be astounded at all the info you can find on the web!

I have taken Micardis for years and now take the generic version. I have never had a side effect and my blood pressure is golden. I now only take my meds every other days.

India including medical doctors I respect, but avoid anything from China I don't accept. Those who are treated like slaves cannot do thing right, i.e not permitted to.

Use Valsartan from Walgreens for blood pressure, not CVS.
