I have been taking Lyrica, 2 50mg twice a day. I have been on Lyrica for 5+ years. In addition I take 1 200mg slow release Tramadol. I take these meds for Fibromyalgia. My symptoms have been very well managed. In mid June, I saw my rheumatologist for a new script, as is required by law. This time a urine tox screen was required before a new script could be issued. I ran into problem after problem. First lab could not do the tox screen. Second lab took the urine, but then had no record that I was ever there. Then a failure on the part of the doc's office to make me aware the lab was missing, and would have to return for another specimen. The 4th of July set everything back even more. The sample had to be sent out to an outside lab for processing. AND would take 7 days. YADA YADA So I...

I have a wheelchair bound client who says his feet hurt from not being used. The doctor gave an RX for Lyrica but told us to empty the capsule into any regular lotion and apply it to his feet for the pain. Client said it really helps. ## It is sometimes prescribed to be used like that and does help many people, some doctor's have it specially made from a compounding pharmacy, but this cuts out that step. The FDA lists the typical side effects as mostly being related to its topical use, so they may include skin redness, dryness, and irritation. Is it still working for him?

I started taking Lyrica for chronic nerve pain that causes a pick axe stabbing in my ear and pain in my jaw. Initially, I did gain weight (12 pounds to be exact) but have been losing it with diet and exercise. I am just 6 pounds from my orignal weight. What distresses me is that over the past few days, my stomah looks as if I swallowed a bowling ball. I had three hernia repairs and on the third, the surgeon put in a mesh. It has its own problems, but my stomach has even worse bloating than it did before the hernia surgery. I have never experienced my stomach as bad as it is right now. I am never constipated, because I eat a lot of fibre. From past experiences with constipation, I had a fair bit of bloating, but this is ridiculous. I have a long history of eating disorders and this may push

Skin rash, edema, rash, breathing difficulties. Ended up in ICU on life support. Took for fibromyagia. Sure didn't work for me or for my sister in law. Pay attention to side effects. Almost killed me. ## Hello, Denise! How are you? I am so very sorry about what happened to you! Did you report your adverse reaction to the FDA? You can call them at 888-463-6332. Has anyone else had bad reactions to this medication? ## Yes I successfully committed suicide whilst on this drug. I was dead for 15 minutes..... no Lawyer here in Australia has the guts to take on pfizer or the prescribing doctor. ## I have spoken with Slater and Gordon here in Australia... They are quite interested in taking on a legal suit regarding Lyrica. ## Yes I was taking it for fibromyalgia also. Shortly after being o...

How do I report the side effects I experienced from lyrica to the FDA online? I seem to remember from my first encounter with this site, it produced a notice that you could report right on this site. Otherwise, google Lyrica online, or maybe FDA? ## Hello, Kitty! How are you? You can contact the FDA to report your experience by calling the FDA at 888-463-6332. What issues did you experience? They list the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, irritability, mood swings and weight gain. ## Started on 75mg lyrica twice daily. I began to notice my gums have become so painful when flossing (i've only been on it a week and was not taking the 2 a day regularly but one a day). I began to wonder why my gums began to hurt so only...

I had a tooth pulled a few days ago and I turned down the pain meds, because I am a recovering addict and I am in an out patient rehab facility and I have to go in about every 2 days to do testing. When I woke up this morning the whole side of my face was swollen and I was/am in horrible pain. I have tried everything from ice packs, Tylenol, IBU, etc. Well my mom gave me one of her lyrica's for the pain and I have been staring at it for about 45 minutes deciding whether or not to take it because I have to check in with the rehab everyday to see if they call my color to come in for a drug test. And I really don't want to fail because if I do I lose everything all the way down to my kids. ## I was clean from every drug & had a drug test at the Pain clinic I'm going to ...

I have used 150mg per day for six months, to deal with osteoarthritis in the hip. I moved from Oxycontin to Lyrica, and am satisfied with this decision. My hip replacement is pending within the next month or so. Lyrica is so effective in stopping the pain, I am wondering whether to stay on it, and keep pushing off the operation. The side effects that I have encountered are short term memory loss, decrease in stool volume and constipation. It is even hard to fart...perhaps it effects sphincter muscles in the body. I have put 8kg on since I began using lyrica, and I was initially alarmed when I developed trigger finger in all of my knuckles. I suffer from anxiety and depression, so was interested to see what the mood stabilizing aspect of the drug did. The depression is still there, but a...

Can you take 5mg of ambien with Lyrica ## Hello, Jane! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but you should only take them if they have both been prescribed for you. The FDA lists the side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hallucinations, funny taste in mouth, sleep actions, next day hangover-like effects and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am not a doctor so I don't know for sure . I am a 75 year old woman and I take 10 mg of ambien and 75 mg of Lyrica two times a day not to mention other medications and I am ok. My doctor gave me the medications but everyone is different.

Hi. I've been on lyrica for about a year. I started having zaps in my head, dizzy spells, blacking out, pressure in head, buzzing in my ear, memory loss, loss of balance and more. I've had many tests, ct, mri, eeg, 2x spinal taps. I thought I had ms and have been so scared not knowing what's wrong. In july I got into a bad accident and took out a telephone poll in my jetta. By the grace of god I survived with minor injury. It cut through the engine and stopped at my windshield. My symptoms have been getting worse. A few weeks ago I fell asleep, well passed out and my daughter couldn't wake me up, slapping me and I still didn't move. My balance and loss of memory is severe. My neuro dr has checked me for seizures although I found out it's actually a seizure medici...

I take 200 mg Lyrica twice a day for pain associated with Neurofibromatosis. Seems to help but my wife won't come near me. Says my breath is stinky. Not what a husband wants to hear. Have tried all types of oral solutions so problem doesn't seem to be in the mouth. Wonder if Lyrica is to blame since bad breath is a side effect. I'm considering going back to Gabapentin and putting up with the increased pain. Anybody have a similar problem or solution. ## I haven't heard of this before, but I can't say that I am surprised. Drugs can affect everyone differently. Rather than going back to a drug that makes you deal with more pain, you might want to talk to your doctor first, they may be able to help you find a different solution. ## Thanks for the quick reply. I was placed on Lyrica only a few months ago (only 75mg) Did it help my pain from nerve damage? yes it did. However, I have been experiencing acute problems with my teeth...the latest...yellow teeth and several turning green...i swear...been crying for hours...also enamel on front teeth almost destroyed. I am aware of the dry mouth warning, but there's no excuse for this. If you are thinking of this med. do more research, PLEASE. The blogs are everywhere.... ## Thank you Cheryl! I'm not crazy. I was on Lyrica for almost a year. Every other month I'd brake a molar or a tooth. I didn't know what was going on. The worst part is that I spent thousands of dollars on jaw surgery and braces (as an adult) and all that work has gone down the drain. I now need dentures. Great! I t...

I'm presently at 250mg a day.Till the Lyrica gets to the best pain management dosage, my doctor put me also on 6 acetaminophen (Tylenol) plus codeine a day. " I am taking the Lyrica for nerve damage due to advanced spinal stenosis. I am also on 100mg of NaproxenE a day. Thanks in advance for your replies! ## Oops... 1000mg of Naproxen a day ## It is normal for your body to get used to anything that you take for a long period of time, even if you only use it as prescribed and a sudden cessation may cause some withdrawal and rebound effects. This is my 3rd day taking 75mg Lyrica 2x a day. This is for multiple herniated discs/spinal damage. I also take Mobic 15mg a day for the spine and for a shoulder injury (dislocation, labral tear, tendinitis). I have been on Mobic since May 30 with really no issues. I also take Topamax 200mg 2x day for migraines and have been on that for a couple of years. Since adding Lyrica, the first day I really did not notice anything. The second day went easily also. The third day, food tastes weird and my mouth feels funny. I read that dry mouth is possible, but my mouth is not dry, it just tastes 'off'. I also feel strange in general. I am not disoriented or confused or light-headed, but I feel different and I would not call it exactly pleasant. My head also feels kind of 'puffy'....
