My wife got paralysis stroke on the left side of her face in May 2011 due to high BP. It was cured after hospital treatment. After one year she got post paralysis symptoms like her left eye was burning and felt painful, water discharge from nose, backside of her head felt like it was burning, right hand burning. The uneasiness from these conditions were observed everyday, every 6hrs and the suffering lasts 1hr. We have consulted so many neuro physicians and surgeons with no use. We have used Neugaba, gabarich, Trigabantin, Lyrica pregabalin. So far there's been slight improvement observed but still suffering from eye pain. Due to this, the patient is not able to sleep at night causing weakness and headache. Moreover, she is diabetic type 2 since last year and using medicine for that...

I am prescribed fiorcet and lyrica for severe migraines, and klonopin 1 mg (twice a day, but usually am too tired to take my second dose). I am changing jobs and will be subject to a urinalysis in 4 days. I have a prescription but would prefer to not disclose this info to new employer, so I will stop my med for a few days. How long does it take for these to clear my system for a basic 10 or 11 panel screening? I stopped the lyrica 5 days ago as my insurance will no longer cover it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am on 600mg Lyrica per day and believe I am totally addicted to them. I have tried taking more than the prescribed dose to get a "high" - god it is such a great high but I am getting more and more addicted. I feel terrible when I run out or get low on pills. They speed me up so when I have them in abundance I feel great but when I don't, well, it's like hell on earth. Has anyone else on here found they are addicted to Lyrica? Surely the manufacturers know they are on to a good thing here! Oh well, it won't be the first time in my life the big pharma companies have got a hold over me. I think perhaps I should be posting in an addiction forum for help but just thought I would ask on here out of curiosity. ## I've TAKEN lyrica as prescribed for 8 years - I weaned ...

I have some really bad sciatic pain from my left knee down to and including my ankle. Last night as I was tossing and turning in bed my leg moved and I heard/felt a popping noise followed by extreme pain not like the sciatica. It felt like my shin bone had broken but it is not painful to touch so must not be broken. Should I take percocet or Lyrica for this new pain? I have the percocet left over from the knee scope on left knee which did not have sciatic pain prior to the scope. The knee meniscus is now bone on bone. I will have to wait another 2/3 weeks for an appointment with a neurosurgeon to see about taking care of the sciatica with a back surgery to take care of disc which has degenerated and is causing the pain in left leg. Please advise! ## Hello, Fairhope! How are you? I'm...

Does lyrica make narcotic pain releavers more lntensely felt ## Lyrica makes me feel drunk too. I couldn't even drive for a while until I slowly got used to the feeling. ## Hi Streak, From what I understand, Lyrica (Pregabalin) does in fact potentiate opiates. To what degree I'm not actually certain, but I'd imagine that it varies for each individual based on one's tolerance and so forth. However, in order to avoid possible overdose related symptoms in combination therapy, I think patients should always try to refrain from taking more than prescribed and maybe consider alternative ways to effectively manage pain along side their current regimen. This will help ensure that tolerance levels remain in check as well. I wish you good health! ## Streak' No it doesn't h...

Yesterday, my PD (pain doctor) told me that my Lyrica (600 mg/daily) hasn't ever shown-up in my UA's. What? I LOVE my Lyrica! As far as I am concerned it has been a MAJOR game changer! In fact, Lyrica has helped me to live a better life by actually allowing me to get a handle on my SEVERE diabetic nerve damage. Thank goodness My PD knows my feelings where Lyrica is concerned; since I've gushed about it ever since he prescribed it for me about 8 months ago. Additionally, I am grateful for the healthy relationship I have with my PD and so he did not release me from my contract. However, I need to know why! Why doesn't my Lyrica show-up in my UA tests? I feel like I need some sort of answer to give him before my next appointment in January 2017. Any thoughts? Ideas? Anythin...

I take 150 mg of Lyrica per day for neuropathy. Can this cause a false positive for methamphetamine in a mouth swab? ## Hi Jenny, To my understanding Lyrica (Pregabalin) isn't chemically related to methamphetamine at all. They are categorized into two separate drug classifications, induce different effects and have different pharmacology altogether. Seldom do I even hear of them both being used in the same paragraph. Lol.... If you took Lyrica and got a reading for methamphetamine, the only thing I could suspect is that the drug panel was faulty/inaccurate by design. My thoughts are, if you were able to take a Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) analysis on the same day as the mouth swab, it's pin point accuracy would've proved whether the mouth swab wa...

I am a man who takes lyrica. Can I give my wife a yeast infection from my sperm having lyrica in it? ## Hello, Eric! How are you? No, it doesn't work that way, regardless of the medication, she would not be exposed to enough of it via your sperm to cause any issues. Unless you are prescribed a medication that specifically says not to engage in intercourse, while taking it, there is nothing to worry about. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Lyrica as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight gain. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Dr suggested she could not find anything that says I need to do that. Suggested I take I tIl surgery. Please help. ## Hello, Nicky! How are you? That is a fairly low dose and, if you take it until the time of your surgery, you shouldn't experience any severe withdrawal effects, so it is usually best to follow your doctor's instructions. The FDA does warn that there is a slight chance that stopping it suddenly may cause nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, diarrhea, and depression. Are you on any other medications? ## Hi thanks for your reply. I take many more meds including tradjenta fo...

I am 85 tears of age and I have been taking Lyrica for at least 10 years. I was immediately prescribed 75 mg as treatment for severe Neauropathic pain in my lower leg I also had bone pain mainly in the Tibias, I had this particular pain for 30 to 40 years. When I started on the treatment it was dramatic, the pain went almost overnight, it was as if a magic wand was waved. As the years passed I noticed the effects gradually lessened, so the dosage was increased. I suffer with loss of balance and when it first happened I was diagnosed with Benign Postural Vertigo and was treated for that. Now a few days ago my GP increased my Lyrica dose and balance has become worse. It started me thinking and I realised that my dizziness coincided with my first taking Lyrica. Soon following extreme pain in the sternum causing the sharpest jolts of pain continually for days now....would lyrica help decrease any of this pain until I can pick up my Naproxen in a few days? ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? It would be best to have this checked out by your doctor to see what happened, you might have developed costocondroitis, or you may have separation of the rib cage. The Lyrica may help, but it takes about 4 to 5 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your body. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been prescribed Lyrica by my doctor. I pinched a nerve in my back 5 months ago and am still in pain. I have told her repeatedly that I am not feeling like myself while I'm taking Lyrica, my moods change drastically (I am normally a very bubbly person) i feel drunk, slur my words, forget things, forget whole conversations, and it's frustrating!!! I lost 15kg in a three week period, then gained it all back in a week and a half. My doctor does not want to listen to me when I tell her that this medication is not helping, in fact, it's making things worse. Some days I'm happy, next day I'll be curled up in bed crying. This has been going on for 5 months..... I've been to other doctors, but they just say keep taking it, it's just a small side effect. Readi...

Can I take both Lyrica for diabetes leg]foot pain and glucocil for blood sugar control together? Are Lyrica and Glucocil compatable? ## Hello, William! How are you? Unfortunately, since the Glucocil is just a supplement, I am unable to check for any interactions with actual prescription medications. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Lyrica as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight gain. Do you not take any actual medications for your diabetes? ## Thanks for comment. I am taking usual Metformin for blood sugar control and Gabapentin for nervepain which is not too effective. Therefore, reason for my query re Lyrica being added to Glucocil which I've just begun.
