I am taking morphine sul 100 bid and lyrica 200 bid. ive been taking this for quit awhile but recently was increased to 100 from 75 and from 150 to 200 respectfully. The last two days I've been getting tightness in my chest and it feel hard to breath is this a side effect of the two and if so shouldn't of it showed when I started taking them together. I ve been on morphine for almost 2yrs at 75. and the lyrica was just started the end of last year it started at 50 and gone up since then. I have nerve pain in my neck and lowr back from 2 failed surgeries to releive pinched nerves in both areas. ## It could be a side effect that has been caused by the increase in dosages. Morphine is a narcotic and both it and the Lyrica can cause central nervous system depression, which can affec...

Did any one while on Lyrica have problems with yeast infections? How about your tongue swelling? ## Yes. I have never had yeast infections, and since starting Lyrica, I have been battling them for 2 months. Lyrica's website mentions nothing about this issue, but I am quite positive that it is directly related. Nothing else in my life has changed (diet, exercise, spouse, etc). ## I was also having yeast infection problems on lyrica and I finally figured that lyrica was causing me to have vaginal dryness. Now I use a moisturizing vaginal suppository every night and haven't had a yeast infection since. I would first use a homepathic yeast infection treatment to treat the yeast infection and the immediatly start the moistrizing vaginal suppositories Hope this helps. ## I'm on ly...

i guarantee it is addictive. I went off thinking it wasn't and suffered worse withdrawals than coming off oxycocdone. ## Lyrica, which contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, is an anticonvulsant, which is also used to treat nerve pain, anxiety and as a mood stabilizer. It is not a narcotic, however, it has been known to cause withdrawal effects in people that have been taking it for a long period of time, when they stop taking it abruptly. This happens, because your body gets used to anything you ingest on a regular basis and if you stop using it, your body has to readjust to not having that substance. It is called dependence. More details: Have things improved for you? ## Lyrica is addictive in the extreme. But true: Lyrica not a narcotic. It is an anti-convulsant with sedative...

Has anyone gained weight using lyrica as a back pain killer ## Hello, Mike! How are you? Lyrica is actually not a pain killer. It contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is an anticonvulsant, it's been found to help with some types of nerve pain, due to the way it acts on brain chemicals and yes, weight gain is a normal side effect of these types of medications. Learn more Lyrica details here. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and mood swings. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## As I said just on other thread regarding weight gain with Lyrica I never found it to put unwanted weight on myself the years I was on it for Neurolgia, it does work for many other areas other than Epilepsy as it is an anti-convulstant as you've already stated ...

IF ANYONE HAS SUFFERED A NERVE PALSY OF ANY KIND AROUND THE TIME YOU WERE TAKING LYRICA; IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO CONTACT ME {edited for privacy}. I think everyone should get as close to accurate representation of my experience. Nothing over exaggerated, although the options for symptoms above was difficult to be accurate with (such as I am not sure "Shoulder-hand syndrome" fully qualifies as a symptom, but there are close associations). I COULD NOT MOVE MY FINGERS OR CONTROL MY WRIST for about 8 months, and STILL SUFFER ongoing weakness. About 2 months before I started regaining mobility a doctor displayed some research citing the use of LYRICA HAS RESULTED IN A VARIETY OF NERVE PALSIES, including Peroneal, Bell, Cranial, RADIAL, etc... By DISCONTINUATION and physical therapy 3x...

After taking this drug for nearly 5 years, I know that I must stop for the sake of my health. Some side-effects, I knew were the Lyrica: the muscle aches, weakness, bloating, extreme weight gain (35+ pounds, despite a very poor appetite and my IBD), and syncopal episodes. But I did not know that it might be the reason I lost more than half my natural teeth despite heroic and expensive efforts to save them; or that it might be the cause of sudden incredibly violent fantasies and impulses unlike any I'd ever had before. Or my skin problems, hair loss, intimate issues, and more. Until I saw postings about it in a support group for persons with Fibromyalgia. I am taking Lyrica for both epilepsy and fibromyalgia. Previous efforts to stop have resulted in both severe withdrawal symptoms a...

I've been taking Lyrica for nerve pain and also for opiate withdrawal. But I don't like Lyrica so I'm thinking of going back to Gabapentin. I just want to know whether 300mg of Gabapentin could possibly work for me? ## Hello, Amy! How are you? No, Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin. They are both anticonvulsants that have been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders, but they are different substances. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. Only your doctor can decide if it may help you and what the appropriate dosage would be. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have lupus, fibromyalgia, Ra and OA I take 300 milligrams of Gabapentin...

I have been taking Lyrica about six months. I have been taking other meds for pain. I have stopped taking the pain RX Tramadol. I still have memory problems, but I started this week taking just one Lyrica ( I was taking two a day 75 mg). ## THE FDA WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT THE BAD EXPERIENCES WITH LYRICA. FDA.gov/Safety/MedWatch ## Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is an anticonvulsant and the FDA does warn that some medications in this class are well known to cause memory issues. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and weight changes. As to the comment about the FDA, they want to hear about bad experiences with all medications, not just this one, so please don't be afraid to submit reports. Is there anything else I ca...

I had shingles in my head and part of my face ner eye area I started taking 75 Gm twice a day then I took it once a day, and now I am taking 25 Gm twice a day, I want to stop it. ## In my opinion, such a low dose. Try one 25 gm a day for a few days and then nothing. ## I can only assume you didn't mean grams, gm, but rather mgs, as in milligrams. Can you please post back and clarify? At such a low dose, there should not be any need to taper. The FDA warns that the typical withdrawal effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, fever, and chills. ## Hi, I have been tapering from 2x75mg a day for 5weeks then dropped to 2x50mg, now on 2 weeks of 1x25mg then stop all together. Reading horror stories about withdrawal. How did you cope with just stopping when you go...

I have started Lyrica and I am up to 3 X 75mg capsules a day. There are several complications and they are too lengthy to go into here. But I have found that my sleep episodes during the day and early evening have skyrocketed. I just curious as to what others have experienced taking this dose of Lyrica. ## It has been known to cause drowsiness as a side effect, according to FDA reports, as well as nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and weight changes. But, it shouldn't cause sleep episodes that make you crash out unexpectedly. Are you on any other medications? Were you experiencing sleep episodes, before taking it? ## Yes, but it is a complicated story. I had been on a BI-PAP for about 17 years. The problem it was causing was acid reflux and he kept reducing it to as low as he could go...

I remember getting into the car and and driving in my neighborhood. Later I briefly woke up when I drove off the road onto the sidewalk and the emergency crew was there. Later, didn't know that I was in the hospital for 4 hours. They called it synope. I was asked to use a reduced amount completely. I could have been killed! ## Did they say it was definitely caused by the Lyrica? It is possible, but it can also be caused by many things. Syncope just describes a temporary loss of consciousness. If you have been advised to stop taking it, then you should definitely do so. Do you have any specific questions? ## As a nurse who was prescribed this medication in the past. It is my recommendation to stop taking it now. This is a very common side effect. For me, it caused completly memory bl...

Hello! My first time here so I'll try to be as detailed as possible. I'm a 36 y/o Female who has been Type I diabetic for 20 some odd years. I have had diabetic nueropathy and general anxiety disorder for around 4 years now. I was on Lyrica for both around 75mg dosage for several years and then upped to 100mg. My husband lost his job and thus my insurance went away too. I was off of Lyrica from about September of 2011 until about March 1st of 2012. After a bad reaction to Gabapentin, I was put back on the Lyrica. I noticed that on the 75mg 2x a day and I did fairly well but it wasn't -quite- enough. I was bumped up to 100mg 2x a day a little over a week ago and I immediately noticed a vast change. I started getting terrible chest pains that only went away when I took an acid...

I have been having severe acid reflux for several years and taking more and more acifex and other strong antacids. Last year I woke up ewith acid in the mouth day and night my gastroenterologist sent me to a surgon. I did not like the surgon so I found a different gastroenterolgist. After talking to two other Dr's, the gastroenterologist suggested I take Lyrica after uping the doseage from 10 mg twice a day to 50 mg twice a day I have some relief. for some reason he is resisting upping the doseage above 50 mg twice a day. I am getting some relief but after about 5 hours the acid comes back, although not quite as bad but it burns my tomgue and makes my tongue swollen, so I bite it. What is magic above this doseage? ## My doctor upped the dosage to 75MG twice a day. It does help but f...

it is a pinkish color capsule and it says pfuer i think and has pgn200 on the other end of capsule ## the pill you have is lyrica the more common number is pgn 150 pgn 200 is the newer form of them but still does the same thing as the older ones just hits you harder and its got a better time release then the older ones ## That marking is intended to be Pfizer PGN 200, and they list it as containing 200mgs of Pregabalin, which is a generic for Lyrica, this is not a time released formulation. This is an anticonvulsant that has also been approved to treat certain types of nerve pain, and some mood disorders. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight gain. Are there any questions?

I have been on Topamax (Topiramate) for a couple of years for migraines-200mgs twice a day. It makes a HUGE difference for me. I had an injury a few months ago and my doctor recently started me on Meloxicam (aka Mobic) 15mg once a day. It does seem to help and has not really affected me in any negative way as long as I eat when I take it. My doctor is going to start me on Lyrica also. I am wondering if anyone else has had this combination of all three, or a combination of even two of these medications. FYI-I cannot take Neurontin-I tried that several years ago and it led to depression. My doctor is aware of the problem and so he is going with Lyrica instead of Neurontin. The only side effect I have dealt with regarding Mobic is slight appetite loss, nothing else. I am concerned about th...

Started 2005 600mg of Lyrica for three years asked Dr. to go down to 400mg. 4 weeks ago New Neurologist-Just went down to 200mg now 100mg-going off. I was prescribed Lyrica for fibromyalgia in 2009, 50 mg. twice a day, I took it for three years. It has messed up my life also. Stuttering, lack of memory, my gums hurt for a year, now my front teeth are crooked, and I've been referred to an orthodontist for braces. Really? I'm 63 years old! I'm afraid I'll lose my teeth as some of you have. I STOPPED taking it a year and a half ago on my own. Since I've read all of your problems, now I know why, it's the Lyrica. I had depression, was on anti-depressants. It also caused me to have cateracts, and each eye hemorrhaged one month after the surgery of each eye. I've had blurry vision since, it moves around in my eye like a cloud! We need an attorney that will represent all of us NOW! I even called the FDA. No one ...
