I've had sum very TERRIBLE effects from this pill from hell...theres several that are very alarming and ive read just a couple people on here mention it. but its concerning the brain/head/eyes. When i move my eyes, there's a sound that like a bionic sound that goes anytime i move my head (if there open, i closed my eyes to see if it did it when my eyes closed). Also, this med has caused sum severe joint pain that I NEVER HAD BFORE! My dr also says that the highest dosage any person should be on regardless is 450mg, no more, well ive been on this med on/off for ten yrs. never have i been on this amount of mg. but i trusted my new dr which is a group of anesthesiologist, which is a dr that knows everything about meds, what meds go & dont go with what meds, which meds will help...

I was recently put on Lyrica for severe Fibromyalgia pain. It is a nice change from the narcotic pain medications I have been taking but the pain is still intense. Have any other FMS patients seen results from Lyrica? ## I have FMS as well as back pain and nerve pain in my ribcage. My dr seems to think that if we get the dosage hi enough that it will help the Fibro. So far I have no relief for my Fibro symptoms yet and I am on 400mg. Karel ## Lyrica is actually not approved for FMS, it is currently approved to treat Diabetic Neuropathy, it will only work for certain types of nerve pain. It is not a narcotic, nor an analgesic, so it will not work like they do for providing pain relief. To see any results, it also usuall takes at least a month with these types of meds. ## I am fully aware...

for pain and inflammation ## This is an anticonvulsant that is used to prevent seizures, and to treat some mood disorders, as well as some forms of nerve pain. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. But they will not help with inflammation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have being taking Ms-Contin and for 16 years plus all my blood work came back excellent! I have being trying Lyrica it seems to not be working as well now and I am taking 4 to 5 pills a day. so how long can the body take it ? I have little constapation and I can work with good days.so my question is this amount going to end my life early or is it the pills work for the pain an I don't get loaded! which is good. Thxs Gene ## how long can you take ms-contin ## It's really entirely up to you and your doctor, there is no set time frame, it all depends on how well it works for you and whether or not it has caused you any problems. If you're blood work has come back good and your doctor sees no reason to worry, then there likely isn't one. Have you talked to them about your ...

I have been taking Lyrica 50mg 3x a day for idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy in my legs and feet for the past 5 years. It works very well for me and I have -0- side effects. When I miss a dose my legs start burning and I become aware that I missed my dose. I also am able to get my Lyrica for free from Pfizer. ## Awesome! So very glad that it is working so well for you. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. You haven't experienced any of them? That's amazing! Has anyone else had such a good experience with this? ## No, but then again my dose is rather low— 50 mg. 3 x a day ## I think most of you who are experiencing all the side effects mentioned in this forum would benefit if they lowered...

im getting some kind of a blood test at work and what im sure about that they only take 1 drop of blood and i heard its a DNA test , so i have 2 questions 1. if it was a DNA test will Lyrica show ? 2. is 1 drop of blood enough to test for Lyrica? plz i need an answer , and thank u in advance . ## Why would your employer be doing a DNA check? That doesn't really make a lot of sense, since that checks your heredity, and etc. Do you know any other details about it? And no, Lyrica is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat some types of nerve pain, and mood disorders, so it would not be detected on such a sample. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, headache, mood changes, dizziness, and weight changes. ## why would they ask for it im not sure , and ...

I went to my suboxone doctor today and it showed up as opiates. He asked me if I had relapsed and I said 'no, what are you talking about?' He said it showed positive for opiates, so now I have to go back in the morning. He said he would send it to the lab to test it specifically for lyrica, because he said just tell me the truth and I told him I had taken lyrica today and neurontin and lyrica yesterday as well, so it does show up as opiates for sure!!! ## No it doesnt I go to a methadone clinic and every test I take tests for opiates. Lyrica doesnt show up it takes a special test just like gabepentin. U relapsed stop lying! ## I am prescribed Lyrica and Suboxone and I have to say No Lyrica don't show up on a UA but yes Neoroutin Does show up ## I agree with the guys post abo...

What type of effect do you think Lyrica will have on a first-time female patient that weighs 125lbs? ## Depends on the dose. I am a 140lb female who was on no medication & took 150mg & was totally wiped out to the extent that i would hurt myself & not even feel it but dependence grows quickly & the withdrawals are the worst ever - google it & read the horror stories. Please please approach this drug with caution, especially if you have an addictive personality. ## Hello, Peg! How are you? Lyrica is not a narcotic, nor is it related to them. It is actually not any type of analgesic. It is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with some mood disorders and certain types of nerve pain, due to the action is has in the brain. Its typical side effects may possi...

Lyrica is addictive in the extreme. But true: Lyrica not a narcotic. It is an anti-convulsant with sedative properties and some degree of anti-psychotic effects; it calms the brain but also slows the metabolism, causing weight gain. I was a borderline Anorexic and at first gaining weight was good because I was a size 0 and emaciated. But I barely eat and keep on gaining. I weight more than I ever thought I could, and I keep thinking everyone thinks I'm FAT. If so, they're right: I weigh too much. Docs say I am not "obese" but "just overweight," but I feel obese and it's not good. But that's hardly the worst: Lyrica is, it turns out, as addictive as H. And Lyrica Withdrawal is, as I will demonstrate herein, TRUE AGONY. And true peril. I used up my Lyrica (...

Has ANYONE had problem with blackouts while taking Lycria? They havebeen several times where I don't have any memory. Has anyone experienced this??? ## Yes, I also have had a few of these. Ascribed them to my ageing. I am 72. Also weight gain and some of the heavy foot problem, which causes stumbling more than I used to. At this point the pain relief is worth the side effects. Z ## Hi. I'd do a google search on Serotonin Syndrome: Recognition and Management. Then I'd find a site that will do drug interaction information. I believe You may be experienceing part of the aformentioned syndrome. Ask You Doctor. I'm no doctor - I'm an information specialist. Just talking - Not Doctoring. Keep Us posted. -Andrea ## Yes I just started taking Lycria on the 12th and I took the...

Other side effects may include headache, nausea, and mood swings. As to weaning yourself off, it usually best to do that very slowly, to prevent the risk of seizure...

Is lyrica a narcotic i just got some 100 mg to try i take neurotin 800 mg 3 times a day ## No, they aren't narcotics. ## Hello, Kaylee! How are you? BL is correct, thank you BL for your helpful post. To be more specific, these are both anticonvulsants that have also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. That said, no, you shouldn't take both, because you would be essentially doubling up on the same medication, which could result in overdose. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I take both. My pain mgt doctor gives me 1200mg of nerotin and 100mg of lirica 3 times a day. I was paralyzed from the chest down and have told them I don'...

I have Sjogrens syndrome/polymositis/diabetic neuropathy and carpal tunnel as well as a shoulder injury. You might well imagine that I have been through every available prescription drug for chronic pain. I have recently slowly gotten off opiates and am taking lyrica and cymbalta. The diabetic neuropathy pain has almost completely disappeared. The muscle and joint pain is much better. I do havwever have somnolence and a sort of spaced out feeling. I am hoping that this is a transitional side affect. Does anyone know who has been on it for a while? ## I saw the ads on tv and it sounded like something I need but the side effects wow..i am taking opiates for pain and the not taking them is awful..how do I get over the withdrawls not just that part but the pain seems worse than b 4 I have a...

Hello, I am 55 and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at the age of 32. I also have ddd, scoliosis, bulging disc and the list goes on. Due to circumstances, I have on and off Lyrica 3 times. I am seeing all these posts about side effects and I am truly sorry for all that have to go through all of this. Before I was on Lyrica, I had memory glitches, brain fog, and dizziness, and have been one of the lucky ones I guess, because I have never had suicidal thoughts, except twice and that's because I mixed whiskey with the lyrica and my husband and I got into it. I do not drink much anymore. My heart goes out to all people that have bad reactions to medications. For me, the lyrica mostly has benefits. So many things have to be taken into account, to actually determine whether or not side effe...

I am taking 150mg to 300mg of Lyrica daily. The problem here is that I do not have a prescription. I take them from my boyfriends' bottle which he is prescribed. I am on other medication that are prescribed to me such as; Methadone, Prozac, Lorazepam, Seroquel (just to name a few). I started taking Lyrica because I was curious. Now I am addicted to the stuff and I'm too afraid to tell my doctor or my boyfriend. I am more depressed, anxious, think about death all the time and cry constantly. I have difficulties communicating to my therapist because when I open my mouth to speak, I begin crying uncontrollably. I am a mess, and I am afraid that I will eventually exit stage left. ## Hi, Ashley! Sorry about the issues you're having. Lyrica is actually not an opiate pain reliever,...

i take metans it is a purple pill it is for pain in my legs, i am a type 2 . it makes me sick in the stomach. ## Pregabalin (Lyrica) is used to relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves) that can occur in your arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, or toes if you have diabetes. Metanx is a vitamin supplement noted to provide the distinct nutritional requirements needed by diabetes patients to restore the metabolic processes associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. According to Metanx's webpage, by restoring these metabolic processes, you may begin to feel the difference in one or more of the following: Numbness in Feet Burning Pain in Feet (especially at night) Shooting Pain Tingling Feet Improved Sleep That said, I wouldn't necessarily call Lyrica a substitute for Me...

I took a drug screen for rehab that went to the lab and I never took any. What would make lyrica show up in my urine? ## Same thing happened to me and it sucks. Now I get to start all over with nothing. I went to my suboxone appointment today and tested positive for Lyrica but haven't taken anything but suboxone. What would cause this? ## This is an anticonvulsant, so it is not something that is included on standard drug tests, so these results are very odd. Was there a specific reason you were both tested for it? These tests usually only look for controlled substances, going by FDA standards. What medications do you take? Maybe something is causing a false positive. Can you both post back and clarify, so I can research this issue for you? ## i just had this same thimg happen to me ...

I'm 26. I was on Lyrica for 3-4 months for neuropathic pain after having a fall and developing complex regional pain syndrome just after my wedding. I was on 75mg/day and since I'm "chemically sensitive" this dose was quite strong for me. It made me drowsy to the point of sleep, irritable, poor memory, depressed, chest pain, I felt "dumb" like I couldn't spit out my thoughts clearly, I had headaches, dizziness and gained weight... etc. My GP recommended nothing. I was only on it for 3-4 months, stopping because my husband observed I was always grumpy before it and after the medication wore out. I have been off it for around 3-4 months. I still feel fatigued (though not nearly as bad), emotional at times, and most frustrating is that I feel "foggy" - s...

I took a lyrica 200mg capsal this morning and I just took my first pill of Propranolol, How do they Interact with each other? Can I take them together?
