Is Lyrca safe. How long have it been used? Thanks Linda ## Hi Linda, Lyrica was first approved for the treatment of Neuropathic Pain, on December 31, 2004 by a company called Pfizer Inc. There is a big thread on this site regarding Lyrics lawsuits. I think you will be able to find more information centered around the safety of Lyrica there, based on other peoples reviews: Hope this helps!

I have been reading all the responses above and want to tell you there are more to come. Lyrica is a "fat" conserving drug. My daughter gained more than 100 lbs. on it. Now, pain, weight, depression, "foggy" headedness, etc. continued. Oh, yes the terrible rash all over her arms, so bad she refuses to wear a short sleeve top. She always has a jacket on. Hair loss and at 30, the gray hair is now coming. Yes, Lyrica is the cause. She is now down to 25mg, but the reduction has to be very slow. She is one of about 8% that just can't quit it right off. GET OFF OF IT IF YOU CAN. It is the worst thing that has happened to her. She can't work and had to stop going to school because of the memory loss. We need to find a lawyer to help. ## Thanks for your informative post....

Taken Lyrica 6 plus years; pain bad, weight gain terrible, ## Have you consulted a doctor? Weight gain can be a norma side effect of the Pregabalin in Lyrica, however, it should not cause severe pain. What were you taking it for? If it was for pain, there is a chance that your condition has worsened to the point where this medication may not be helping, as much as it used to. This can also occur if you've had no dosage adjustments for the length of time you've been taking it.

need a j code for authorization of lyrica ## From the listings I am finding, the relevant code should be J3490. Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is an anticonvulsant that is also used to treat certain types of nerve pain. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

My advice for you is stay as far away as possible from this s***. It clearly doesnt affect you much, for instance you can never OD on Lyrica but it is very very addictive. The side affects of this medicine are just way to dangerous. After a while you cannot sleep without you, ur depressed outa your mind when your not on it, you have the worst headache imaginable, your become moody. Its so serious that one of my friend got suicidal after stopping it. stay away people

Is this also good for pain relief for neck pain. ## As far as small pains like neck pain from an accident. This drug is so not the best out of all the pain management type of things. They all have side effects that are some what simular and I know of only one person that I know that can take this drug without problems. For small things related to accidents, go with something else. I had all the side effects, my emoitions were off the chart, I lost my job within 3 days of taking this because I sat at my desk and cried for an hour after just one pill. I couldn't think, form sentences, I had a headache that was just incredible. There were alot more things I just can't remember all of them. Please remember people don't take these new drugs lightly. Research what the company says...

slight whip lash, neck pain-difficult to turn head to the right ## It should be helpful in your situation, although Lyrica is typically prescribed for neuropathic pain such as Fibromyalgia or spinal cord injuries. (were you prescribed this by your doctor?) If you're dealing with muscle pain, have you considered safer over-the-counter products such as Advil, Aleve, Tylenol, etc? Regardless I'd say that you should get your neck checked out if the pain is moderate or more. Hope this helps! You can read more about this drug at:

Does Ala Nerve cause allergic reactions? ## My mother who is 93 years old was prescribed Ala-Nerve for peripheral neuropathy but she does not suffer from diabetes, She has experienced severe rashes throughout her body which she attributed to allergy due to weather change (warm-cool changes - we are in the tropics) However after several months of taking 950 mg Ala-Nerve daily, her allergy has become quite severe despite realitively stable weather. She is also taking Lyrica and Neurobion for several years to relieve her postherpetic neuralgia. Initially her allergic rashes could be relieved by Claricort but lately her response to the medication has been very slow. ## ALAnerv is a nutritional supplement. The ingredients are listed as: α-lipoic acid 300 mg, polyunsaturated fatty ...

I was prescribed lyrica from my spine specialist after I experienced nerve pain after herniated disk surgery. My. Specialist instructed to only take lyrica at night as it will "spin me out" I think he used this term because I'm only in my early 20's and thought that would connect with me better. I have had a really positive response with this medication, sure I did feel a little off balance and not myself but I got use to it. In my case the little side effects I felt was nothing compared to the nerve pain I was experiencing, with this medication I was able to go back to the gym and lead a more active life. My specialist didn't really monitor that much, I did have down days were I felt a little depressed but that also could have been to a work situation at the time, p...

There is not enough data to state that it should be used in all neuropathic pain. • Adjunctive therapy in adults with partial seizures with or without secondary generalization • Fibromyalgia • Generalized anxiety disorder You can view a detailed description of the drug, by clicking on the link below... well i started liryca last night and today dont fill the pain but im stopint it today after i read all of this im scare dont want to gain weight ## Not everyone experiences weight gain. keep a healthy diet and excercise you shouldnt have a prob. Most people that do experience weight gain get it because it can cause sleepyness/being tired all the time.. slows your metabolism down and you want to sleep alot. the benefits of this medication in most cases out weigh the side effects. if it works for your pain stick with it. :)

I'm sorry, this is not a new topic, but I have to get this off my chest. I was on 600mg of Lyrica for fibro for about 2 years, give or take. Same brain damaged feeling, no short term memory, a little bit of dsylexia. Gained 60 pounds, swollen hands, feet, joints, fell out of bed about 6 times. Had a speech glitch. Sort of like stuttering but you can feel it in your brain. But, my favorite? Teeth-b-gone. Broken, rotting, something chips off everyday. Even my crowns(which I paid an arm and a leg for) and caps are popping off like popcorn. How am I dealling with this? Super Glue. Until there is nothing left to glue in anymore. I stopped the 'Medicine' cold turkey. Lots of shaking, skin crawling, shaking, hot/cold flashes, crying, wanting to actually BE nuts. And of course, no o...
