My chain pharmacy will order them but he said it isnt quaranteed theyll get them. He will give me back my script paper if they cant fill it but in the meantime---anyone with info?.....

People have been having trouble finding them all over the U.S. right now.

There has been no official word on why, but there are 2 possibilities that may explain it.

The first is that some rumors have been circulating that it is due to new and stricter changes in the regulations regarding how much a pharmacy can keep on hand at any given time, which is making them be more choose of whose prescriptions they fill. As I said, however, this is just a rumor.

The second possibility is one that I have witnessed before and usually crops up every year around this time, it is due to a shortage that has been caused by the mandatory manufacturing limits.

To explain better, the FDA, DEA, manufacturers and pharmacies band together each year to keep track of the total number of prescriptions that were given out for the various controlled substance medications. They then use these figures to determine how much should be demanded by the market in the upcoming year.

Once they have determined that quantity, that amount is then divided among the various manufacturers according to their prior years sales and their production capabilities. For instance, Purdue which manufactures the name brand Oxycontin may be alloted 60% of whatever that quantity was determined to be, then Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals may be alloted 7% of it to manufacture their generics and so on.

However, towards the end of any given year, when the demand has been greater than estimates predicted for any given controlled substance medication, a shortage occurs, because the manufacturer cannot start producing any additional amounts, until the following year, when they receive their new allotment information from the powers that be.

And yes, I am well aware that it seems ridiculous and is causing people to suffer needlessly. I hate to see anyone go through that. But the reason this is done is because it means there is a controlled amount of the market and that means it helps control how much ends up being stolen/diverted, because everyone is paying closer attention to where their drugs end up.

The one idea I can give you that has helped a few other people is, if you have insurance, then contact your provider and see if they have a preferred mail order pharmacy. Some other people have been able to get theirs filled by using these types of pharmacies, because they generally don't move their prescription drugs as fast as the regular chain stores, so they have stuff in stock longer than others do.

Does anyone else have any suggestions or ideas that may help?

I usually fill my 15s at freds in lebanon, however as of the 1st of October they changed wholesalers and only carry the g76s now.
I'm not sure if this is a long term thing or temporary. I really hope it's temporary because in my opinion the G's aren't half as helpful as the actavis 262s.

I get them filled with no problem at my pharmacy. So if you have a reg one that you go to they can get them for you it just might take a couple of days because they have to order them. And with the discount card they are around two twenty five. Tenncare won't really pay for them unless you are started on something else that doesn't really work
