Looking For A Doctor In Dallas To Rx Vicodin

I'm in Dallas Texas, looking for a doctor who will prescribe Vicodin. I spent money on several visits just to be told they don't write for it. Help I only have a few pills left. Got any other suggestions?

Hello, Karen! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having.

However, if you look at the FDA website, you'll see that all medications containing Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen were changed to schedule 2 back in October, so you'll need to see a pain management specialist, if you require it on a long-term ongoing basis. General practice doctors won't write for it.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Additionally, if you're asking doctors to prescribe a specific medication, most will balk, because they are taught to view that as being drug seeking behavior. You really need to just see a new doctor, without asking for a specific medication, then just let them know what you are currently taking and let that, along with your medical records, speak for you.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
