Lo Loestrin Weird Period (Top voted first)

I've been on lo loestrin for 2 months. I take my second brown pill of my 2nd pack tomorrow. I've never missed a pill & take them within a few hrs diff a day every so often when it has slipped my mind. ( have a phn reminder now). Anyway, I've never had a bc where I've missed a period. I have been spotting very lightly to where a thin pad/liner will do the job. I've been cranky & bloating & cramping like always but have had no real bleeding. I don't think I'm prego but I am concerned. Everything I've been reading is talking ab where girl's are bleeding like crazy & I'm hvn the opposite effect. I mean, it's kinda nice not really hvn a period this month but should I be concerned? Also, does anyone hv to pee a lot on this? I mean for the past 2 months since I started I constantly have to pee. Is this a side effect?? I also thought that might've been a side effect but idk. Any advice would help. Ty!

i have been on loestrin for almost 2 months, tonight i will take the first brown one in my second pack. my first month i had light bleeding throughout the whole month, and i got my period about 12 hours after taking the first white one, after starting the second pack my period stopped as it should have. i have had protected sex about 4 times this month and after ever time i have been bleeding for a few days after. i took my 2 white pills in the past 2 days and i still have not gotten my period. should i be worried? i was bleeding when i shouldn't have been, and now when im supposed to have my period i dont.

SO is it true that while on this Loloestrin, its normal to NOT have a period? Im on my third month, the first month i had a normal period- im guessing it was because my previous birth control the LOESTRIN (one lo) was still in me-the second month i just had light brown spotting. Now im starting my 3rd week of the 3rd month of loloestrin-lets see what happens. I was also wondering if anyone gets weird breast tenderness and bloating with this loloestrin and if that is also normal. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was on b-yaz then i lost my pack. i bled for 5 days and went to my doctor. she gave me lo loestrin. i took it at the same time every day like i am supposed to. after 3 weeks i had unprotected sex but he did not ejaculate inside of me. i have taken both brown pills now and have not gotten my period! i also feel a little nauseous (maybe just because im panicking). Should i be worried about being pregnant? ps im only 16 and cant talk to my mom, please don't hate

I am 52 years old and have been taking lo loestrin now for about a year because of preimenopause and having abormal periods (always bleeding). I haven't had any bleeding (period) for the whole year, but now all of a sudden, I'm having a period and I'm not even on the white/brown pills. I'm in the middle of the blue pills. Have no idea what is going on.

i started taking lo loestrin the day of my period and my period usually last 4 or 5 days and has lasted 7 days and i am kinda concerned

Same!!! I don't get my period when I'm supposed to during the placebos but I get it full blown in the middle of the pack!

I have been on Lo Loestrin since January. Every pack I start, I have light bleeding. Whenever I have my "period" at the end of the month, it's really light, almost like I don't even have a period at all. This past month I completely skipped my period. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I'm extremely bloated and I feel like I'm gaining weight because I haven't had my period. From what I have read, it seems that skipping periods is a regular thing when taking this pill. But it's been making me really moody. My boyfriend and I do not use condoms and we've never had a scare. I take my birth control around the same time every morning. Overall, I'm really unhappy with this pill. I don't like these side effects. It keeps me on edge because I feel like I have to take a pregnancy test every month to make myself feel better. I'm planning on switching back to my old birth control.

To Kenn: I was same as you. I started Lo Loestrin in May. I started it on the first day of my period. My periods would normally last about 4-5 days. This time it went on for about 8! I called and talked to nurse and she said that was just your body adjusting to pill. The next month I only spotted for 3 days. I am now on my July pack (3rd pack) and no bleeding yet at all. I DO have bloating though and I think I've taken 2 preg tests! Both negative. Makes you paranoid for sure but I enjoy no bleeding.

Yes! I felt like I was taking water pills because I was just peeing soooo much! I'm so glad everyone has the same experiences I did, the dr's office kept saying "its normal, its normal." I wanted to be like "I know my body, what do you know about normal?!?!" grr.. haha

Hi, I have been on Loestrin for almost 2 months. I was spotting the 1st 2 1/2 weeks of the 1st pack, but I had unprotected sex on the 12th day and he ejaculated inside of me, and has another 3 times since then. My Dr. told me it takes 2 weeks for the pill to be effective. The spotting stopped a few days after the 1st incident, and I did not get my period last month. Im due for my brown pils next week, but i do feel more bloated. Should I be worried???

I know this reply is old, but I have been on this pill for over 2 years and never had a period. Until yesterday.. In the middle of a pack. Had to search the house for a tampon, glad I found one lol! Anyway, just wanted you to know you're not alone :)

Yes, I started this pill mid-cycle about 3 weeks ago and especially since I started my period two days ago, I have had to pee a ton, which isn't all bad, since my body usually grabs every ounce of fluid and hangs onto it, especially during my time of the month.

I've been taking the pill and I also only had my period for one day and not much at all and peeing like crazy too. I'm glad to hear its not just me. Is it normal I don't think I'm prego either but it has ne a little worried.

I too am on my second month. The first month was fine - except for like so many others here, I was spotting almost the ENTIRE month. I am a week into my second pack and am seeming to get a little more than spotting, so maybe this counts as a period, but I am also bloating a lot and am SOOOO hungry! I have been resisting eating because I am small but I want to! My question is, after month 3 or 4, does the bloating go away? A lot of things I have read made it sound like it evens out after month 3/4 but I wanted someone else's experience.

I have only taken loestrin 24 fe before and gained 15lbs. Yuck.

I've been on this pill for 4 months now and haven't had a real period at all. My Dr. says this is normal because of the type of pill it is. It's also VERY important to take this pill at the exact same time every day, so I set a phone alarm to make sure I don't miss one. The first time i was 2 hours late, I spotted for 2 days. I'm loving not having a period!

Hi, I've been on lo loestrin for 9 months now, I just started my tenth month. And I have very frequent light periods. They are light to medium and they are about every other week for five to six days if not more often. I'm not pregnant and I'm good about thing my pill on time. So maybe you're just having the opposite effect. Although yours seems to be the better of the two (:

I'm having pregnancy-like symptoms, after having an unlikely intimate encounter that puts me at a .00001% chance of being pregnant. Apparently, these symptoms are also associated with Lo Loestrin:

-nausea
-anxiety
-cramps
-headache
-lack of appetite
-frequent urination

I've only been on this pill for a week, and I'm freaking out a little bit because the symptoms match pregnancy (even though there's a super low chance I am).

I was super bloated! Gained almost 10 pounds! Didn't have a period for like 8-10 weeks then started and didn't stop for like 3! I hated it, but I can't take any birth control at all! Good luck!

I would like to delay getting my period this month by about two days. tonight I would normally take my first white pill (I have two white and two brown). Should I take the white pills and then just start with a new pack of blue when I would normally start my brown. Or do I not take any white pills and just keep on going with a new pack? So confused.....thanks!

I took a pap smear in february got on antibiotics in march it stoped my period i told my doctor started taking lo loestrin fe at the end of april took a cervix and tissue exam in may did a follow up with my doctor he said everything was normal and fine but still no period my blood saying im not pregnant but my urine saying yes what is wrong with my body
