Hi. I just took the last brown pill in my second pack of Lo Loestrin Fe. I have not bled at all yet. On the first pack I had bad cramping on the last white pill and then spotted on the first brown. Such light spotting that I only needed a panty liner for 2 days. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about pregnancy? I've never missed a pill and started the first pack when I was supposed to start the new pack of my old birth control, Yasmin. I am switching back. This pill is making me insane with worry. ## yes, its very normal. light spotting on lo lo estrin or lo estrin is what a lot of people experience ## Gia's answer is correct. Contraceptives, such as this, contain hormones to prevent ovulation, which prevents pregnancy and changing the amount of hormones in your body can ca...

Lo Loestrin FE and continuous bleeding
274 Replies RSS
I started taking Lo Loestrin FE on Feb. 2nd and it is now Feb. 21st and I have been bleeding non-stop (literally all day, every day). Doctor says to wait it out for 3 months... 3 months of non-stop bleeding? I've heard of breakthrough bleeding but this crazy! ## While I agree that it is crazy and unacceptable, yes, even if it lasts for a long time, continuously, they still consider that to be just breakthrough bleeding. However, you should give it at least a full month, to see if your body adjusts to these pills. If you are still bleeding by the time you start your second pill pack, you should call and insist on a change and if they don't agree, you may want to consider seeing a different doctor. To be honest, there is no reason for a woman to have to put up with it, for that lo...

Lo Loestrin Fe - Missed Periods
369 Replies RSS
I've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe at the same time every day consistantly for two months with no period... is this normal? ## Yes, it can be. These do contain hormones, to prevent pregnancy and they can affect different people in different ways. Some women will menstruate regularly and some won't. There is really no harm in skipping, but if you are concerned about it, you should consult your doctor. Many women use their birth control to skip their menstrual cycle, especially for important events, such as marriage or vacations. Have you contacted your doctor? ## i started taking lo loestrin fe the first day of my last period and during the 3rd week i had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. i had been having breakthough bleeding. Is this okay? id missed one pill at the beging of the ...

lo loestrin fe second white pill
3 Replies RSS
Missed taking my second white pill for the day, can I take it at night even though my scheduled time is in the afternoon or can I take it tomorrow along with my first brown placebo pill ## Hello, Courtney! How are you? Yes, that should be fine. But why are you taking 2 a day? Oral contraceptives as usually just dosed as one tablet daily, except in very rare cases to stop heavy bleeding, as emergency contraception and etc. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hi Verwon, thank you! I ended up taking it about 5 hours after my scheduled time but no, I am not taking two a day. The only reason I would would be because I forget one for ...

pregnant on lo loestrin fe
2 Replies RSS
I have been taking lo loestrin fe for 3 months. It is my last week of pills and I was intimate with my partner twice this week without using protection. I take the pills every day however I have not been taking them at the same time for the past two weeks. Some days I would take them in the morning, some days at dinner time, etc. Usually I take them in the morning. Is there a chance I could be pregnant? Is it really necessary to take them at the exact same time? Please help! ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? When taking oral contraceptives, as explained by the NIH, you have about 12 hours, before it's considered a late pill and 24 hours, before it's considered a missed pill. Thus, if you full missed any, then yes, there is a chance you could be pregnant. However, if you took them a...

Pill, period, or pregnant?
1 Reply RSS
I just started taking Lo Loestrin Fe (still in the first week of my first pack). I took the first pill when I started spotting about a week before I expected my period. I wasn't too surprised by this due to my heavy and irregular periods, which are half the reason I'm taking this birth control. However, the spotting lasted less than a day. I've continued taking the pills since then and have been experiencing side effects such as nausea, tender breasts, moodiness, and fatigue. Since I just started, I'm wondering if it's too early for the pill to be affecting me like this already and if these are from PMS, or possibly signs of pregnancy since they all have similar symptoms. I had unprotected intercourse roughly a week to a week and a half before the spotting occurred, ...

Lo Loestrin FE and perimenopause
3 Replies RSS
Last month, I started taking Lo Loestrin FE for perimenopause symptoms. I am 47 years old, My cycles were irregular, messy and for the last few years I have been depressed (off and on), fatigued, low libido, vaginal dryness, crampy, irritable, etc. (you know the drill :) . So, finally, I asked for a low dose combination pill to try and help. So far, the only relief is that my bleeding is 100% better - everything else is a huge mess. Have any of you experienced perimenopausal RELIEF using LoLoestrin? ## Hi Kim, I am on loestrin fe also for persistent bleeding, which it did help with but months later I developed depression and hot flashes and was also put on natural Estradiol which helped tremendously with all. Recently however I missed a loestrin fe and had a few days run of hot flashes,...

Lo Loestrin Fe Wrong Pill On The Wrong Day
6 Replies RSS
I've been on LO LOESTRIN FE for 6 months. This month I took the wrong blue pill on the wrong day instead of taking my Tuesday pill I took my Monday pill of the following week which were located on the same line on week four of the packet. So I chosed to take my wenseday pill, Thursday pill and so on until I reached Monday and I took the Tuesday pill instead. Would I be okay?! ## Hello, Aisha! How are you? Yes, all of the blue pills are the same and contain the same dosages of the hormones, so they don't have to be taken on any specific day of the week. The days are marked on there just to help you remember to take one each day. However, the only tablets that are different are the white ones and the brown ones. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as poss...

I took the first white pill of LoLo Estrin yesterday and woke up to a period today (supposed to take second white pill today) ... Can I skip the second white pill and the two brown pills to avoid my period from continuing or is it too late? ## No, skipping them won't change anything. You should finish them, as you are supposed to and then start the next pack, when you normally should. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## This is my first month taking Lo loestrin. I took my 2nd white pill last night and today around noon I got my period. Anyone Experiencing Missed Periods And Slight Weight Gain On Lo Loestrin Fe Birth Control
95 Replies RSS
I have been on this pill since March and only got my period the first month I was on it and it was very light and only lasted a couple of days. haven't gotten it since. I have taken tests...all negative. Any one else experiencing this? ## Since there are hormonal based contraceptive tablets, both of these symptoms can be normal side effects of using the medication. There is really no harm in skipping your menstrual cycle, there are even contraceptives on the market that are specifically designed to let you skip for several months in a row. However, if you are concerned, you should consulted your doctor. Are there any other questions? ## I probably started taking this in April/May. I can't remember exactly. For the first three packs I didn't get a period. On the fourth pack I...
