I took an 8 mlg subutex about 24 hours ago. Is it safe to take roxicodone or other pain meds?

Look dawg, I took 3 perc 10s and I'm on 8mg sub's myself and I feel great. It just depends on you, not the pills, cuz I only waited 24 hours.

Subutex has no opiate blocker in them so you should be fine... suboxone on the other hand has an opiate blocker therefore depending on your body's tolerance and whatever you may or may be able to take other opioids... But I know from experience Subutex is different from suboxone, another opiate medication should work.

Never tell a doctor that you are getting meds from someone else because it is completely illegal to take someone else's prescription that is why the doctor hung up on you. I have been on Subutex for four years for chronic pain and it works great for me. I am prescribe 16 mg a day and I usually take between 4 and 8 mg a day sometimes more depending on my pain level. My doctor is not a pill mill and treat me very well he writes my prescriptions for six months at a time. If you have any questions about Subutex I would be more than happy to help you

Ativan will help its a benzo. If you were on Subutex for a long time the withdrawl will last you at least a month.

Wow I guess I won't be getting into anymore discussions if people are going to call us dummies. The only dumb thing is NOT to ask questions.

No its not...naloxone in the suboxone is! The bup binds strongly so it's harder to over ride, but the naloxone is the actual opiate blocker not the Bup.

I took a 1/4 dose of Bunavail this morning. How long will it remain in my system? Also, can I take a valium with it or are they contraindicated?

I am on Bunavil. Yes you can take a Valium with it. I take colodopins and Xanax with mine. Just be careful and do t take large doses for combining the two in large amounts can cause upper respiratory distress.

My reply was for Verwon as I see him giving really generalized uneducated replies on many suboxone posts ... this is some pretty bad forum software as well ... when I hit reply in his box it should connect to his reply ... just sayin ... I did find some real advice on other posts of this forum however .. love to all

Wow, a lot a misinformed ideas floating about. Subutex vs Suboxone. Buprenophine, the primary blocker of opiates, and add Naloxone, and withdrawals most likely to intensify. The main proponent is Buprenophine, but more important is the Half-Life of both Buprenophine and Naloxone. Buprenophine has a Half-Life average of around 35-45 hours. Naloxones Half-Life is shorter at around 6-12 hours. Although Naloxones Half-Life is relatively short, taking any opiates sooner then 72 hours is most likely to be wasteful, and could be painful. Naloxone is supposed to be a way to stop abuse via injection, but it does more then that. Naloxone is supposed to have a very low rate of absorption, but personally, I' am not so sure. I take Subutex, but on a few occasions had to take Suboxone, and I thought my head was going to pop. Suboxone has a 4/1 ratio whereas Subutex is straight Buprenophine. Precipitated withdrawals would be horrifying if you were to take an opiate within hours of taking Suboxone, but you'd still get negative results taking an opiate after the Naloxone wears off due to the long Half-Life of Buprenophine. Personally, I'd put at minimum a 72 hour, or greater space between mixing Subutex with any full opiate. It's very important to consider the Half-Life of any medication. Personally, I think the drug companies market Suboxone, and the FDA goes for the ride on a gravy train of profits. If 1mg of Naloxone can cause such a massive headache, what else is it doing ? Subutex gets the job done, and personally, I believe it to be much safer for daily consumption. Just remember, Half-Life is a major factor with any medications.

I did not know what to do because they would have taken a drug panel and then found this in my system, so that is why I told her the truth. So what would you have done?

Yes, it's your body's own chemistry. I would take my 8 milligram Suboxone in thirds, 1 per day. Occasionally I would take opiates after the suboxin, sometimes a third or two thirds, depending on the time of day I got the opiate. After about 4-6 hours of taking two-thirds of a strip of suboxane, I was able to take 2 30 milligram oxycodone and feel the effects.
