People need to stop thinking that buprenorphine testing has to be isolated from other tests, and especially that buprenorphine is expensive (this may have been true at one time, but its certainly no longer true). Here is a list of FDA approved drug testing devices (accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfClia/testswaived.cfm). Instant drug test devices are considered medical devices and must be FDA approved for marketing/sale. buprenorphine tests can be a single strip, part of any multi-panel testing kits. They are available for available as cheap as less than $1/test for the single strip test, as well as cheap as $4-5 for a 12-panel test. Sure, if you want to pay $200+ for a panel test, you can pay that too. heres some links supporting that data:

ive been on suboxone for 6 years. been on about 3-4mg/day for the past 5 years and i'm finally thinking about getting completely off of it. i was shocked to find out what i did tonight. denver has started testing for pretty much everything. thats a product of working to make marijuana legal to the law abiding citizens, and probably part of their deal with the feds. i hope people can appreciate the bup info. here is the link stating what denver probation is now testing for:

As far as employers and such I'm positive they don't test for suboxone and I haven't seen.anything in the courts until recently when it was on there positive for "bupe". It.had its own lil slot right next to cocaine!

Verwon, now employer's don't test and two posts up they DO??

Get your information right please

SOME employers do, some don't. Simple as that.

If you are applying for a job that requires DOT screens, you bet your butt they WILL test and if found to be on ANY narcotic you will be given the choice to either find employment elsewhere or stop taking medication that may cause unsafe side effects.

This is not discrimination, companies will not be held liable for knowingly placing you in the position to possibly put yours, coworkers or public safety at risk.

Nursing Student, I don't know all of the specifications about nursing programs but if you're not applying for employment you shouldn't be tested at all...for anything. I've never heard of a class drug testing their students but I know nursing does have a lot of specific requirements so if you already know about them testing is that what you're saying? Even if they did if you're legally prescribed I don't see how its an issue, especially since you're only participating in course studies. If you're worried about the stigma that comes with suboxone treatment you do NOT have to disclose any personal information about your personal health history, no matter how much some nosey Nancy tries to sneakily pry. If you do feel obligated to give a reason other then opiate maintenance. simply state it's prescribed for pain and you don't understand how your personal health information is even relevant to your abilities as a successful student.

That had to be the most wrong info I have ever saw in such a short post

Marty when asking for help, maybe try not sounding like...how you do.

There's a reason for all the 'yes and no' answers. Figure it out yourself.

Not going to waste my time looking everything up for you this morning when you are being such a d- i- c- k.

Yes suboxone has a mean half life, I'll break down in simpler terms below! I replied to the other ladies nonsense below and my post to her is under review lol.

But bupe breaks down like this.

Today you took 4 mgs, three days from now you'll have two. Three more days you'll have one, so on and so forth but is measured in ng not mg. Also some pain management clinics test for it but most don't unless they prescribe it and want to make sure patients have it in their system. But you will be fine, seventeen days is plenty long enough, especially for a one time dose, if you had been on for a long time etc it would've built up but you obviously did not so this is of no worry to you.

I only know these things by being interested and curious about the drug tjat gave my life back. I've read the clinical trial information, i have a trustworthy and understanding doctor that's more than happy to answer my questions and I read...A LOT. I select my information online only after verifying sources and credibility so as not to just take random people's opinions as facts. So in short I wouldn't state a for sure response if I wasn't sure the information I'm giving is correct. I've been in most of these positions myself and understand how the worry and fright effects you.

You'll be fine :)

I know I'm late on this post so it's probably too late but I have a few questions for you about how you did it , and what form was it in (strip, pill). And a few more questions. If you would like, let me know {edited for privacy} and I'll be more than glad to answer your questions correctly. I joined this "forum thing " to help people in need and who are desperate for answers and don't seem to get any. It's ridiculous. So with that said. I don't know you don't know me. Confidentiality will most definitely be very important. First of all , I am not an MD, PDOC, or RPH( pharmacist) or any type of medical field associated. But I can offer sound and accurate advice from my years of experience with drugs and situations and outcomes. Not bragging what so ever due to me not being proud of my past and present still to this day. I'm still a pawn in this game of "addiction" and have been clean off and on. Many times. My main point being I joined this forum and others to help people who ask questions in times of desperation and don't seem to get a response. And the responses you do get are ignorant and illiterate. I've done everything you can imagine in my 15+ years plus more which I will not go into. Rehab 3-4 times maybe more. So not being in the medical field or trained , doesn't mean I don't have the knowledge or experience with these situations which most people claim to have but are completely wrong or absolutely illiterate in their answers when people need the right answer right then and there. I chose to write this to you, mainly because of your post, which I have first hand knowledge of , and how recent the post was. I know you've prob taken test already since I'm 20 something days late. But you shouldn't worry as long as you did it correctly.

I can't stand people trying to find out answers ASAP and scared like I have been in the past, and people give crazy stupid answers that aren't accurate what so ever. If you need help in the future or questions I can answer I will be glad to help you and anybody else who needs it. That's why I signed up. I don't know everything of course. But i know a lot about a lot of drugs and tests and much more. IMPORTANT: ABSOLUTELY will NOT give medical advice or advise you to stop taking legitimate medications from your doctor. I can offer advice on street drugs and the dangers and mixtures and testing and experience with all these. Again, no judgement will ever be passed by me as I am in the same shoes and always will be an addict , clean or not. Just knowledge based on experiences through my years of crazy escapades with all types of substances. Also again, NO MEDICAL ADVICE or PROFESSIONAL ADVICE will be offered, Not professionally trained as a medical doctor or druggist of any kind. But can offer advice based my experiences and knowledge gained.

To your above question, you shouldn't worry about doing what you did with sub. It has been done many times by me and many friends, and has never failed. But it's gotta be correctly done like I said. So if you need more info on that or any other questions about anything please don't hesitate to ask me. If I trust you, in the future, and you reply to this novel I've written in the first place LMAO. Then I'll be happy to help you with your questions or anybody else's on here so they don't get some 17 year old answering questions they have no idea about. Sorry for the long post. I tried to sound well spoken but I'm just a regular guy who wants to help people. And don't usually talk this way. I've gotta bad mouth lol but don't know the rules to this forum. Hopefully I'll get a reply. If not it's ok. I tried to help and will continue to try to help people through an addicts eyes. Who can see clear now. And have the urge to help people who are scared and desperate to get answers with no avail. Ok that's enough. Adderall sure does make you sound smart doesn't it LMAO. Ok good luck and all the best to you and maybe I'll hear from you to know how that test worked out for you. (Putting sub in clean piss) been there done that. I wana know if it worked for you. As it has for me and friends. Thanks for reading my dam* book. Is cussing allowed on this forum ? Ttty maybe.

What doc do u go to and where can I find one like him lol. Im on felony supervised probation for the next two yrs and it was my first time getting in trouble in NC however I been on everything off n on for the last 10 yrs so its hard to just have to stop like that but the subs work wonders. You think the med management place I go to for behavioral health wld prescribe them? I dont want to ask n end up making them want to test for thwm if they dont bc ill enough up failing every one then. Its only a 5 panel rt now.

How long does suboxone stay in your system

I am required by court to take random drug testing each month. I take a 10 panel with expanded opiates and failed for suboxone (buproprion). So YES, it does show up!

Just simply tell your sub doctor that you think that the tabs seem to work better for you than the strips, your not asking for a MG increase or an increase in the amount of tabs or strips... Hope you find this suggestion to be very helpful... Most people prefer the sublingual films to the sublingual tablets... Try to give a logical explanation such as the film "Taste" is really strong and makes you want to spit it out, and you were told the tabs have a sweeter taste so easier to swallow your saliva and you would like to give the tablets a try you can say the films make it harder for you to dose in front of anyone that doesnt know your road to recovery by putting you on the spot there are a lot of reasons... BUT THE NUMBER 1 IS BECAUSE HE WORKS FOR YOU AND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND...

Not trying to bum you out, but no. It's very unlikely you can clean enough of the sub out to get below the cut off point of the test. A 4mg dose can't be cleaned out that fast. And water and water pills won't speed it up. You can try flooding yourself with water, but they test for this now. And on drug court and similar programs, a diluted urine is the same as a positive. Still, it's worth trying. If that's all you can do.

I've been on Suboxone for 5 years and I'm finally tapering off it. I'm down to 6 mg. and I feel fine so far. I know for a fact that Suboxone will ONLY show up in a urine test, IF the doctor requests that they test for Suboxone, along with the other narcotics. Most doctors don't test for Suboxone, but if you are a Suboxone patient, they will DEFINITELY test for Suboxone. When I have to have my urine test, the prescription says, "Test for Suboxone also".
