Can you tell me about any doctors who can prescribe Vicodin
I have had chronic pain from lordosis of my back for over 25 years. OTC meds used to help but now it's gotten worse. Being upright, sitting or standing or walking for any length of time put me in excruciating pain. I've been on Vicodan for 2 years, which worked at first--I could go for walks, sit up and do crossword puzzles, etc. I made the mistake(I guess) of telling my dr. that they weren't working as good as they used to, and she said she didn't feel comfortable raising my dose as she's a gp and she sent me to a "pain clinic" who don't believe in pain and think physical therapy (which I've already done) is the answer . I went to another doctor listed under pain doctors and he said he was a physical medicine and rehabilitation dr.--after I specifically told the gal on the phone when making the appointment that I was not interested in chiropractic(been there, done that--I think they're quacks) or p.t. did that for a year and it's only getting worse. I told her about the vic and would her dr be interested in that and she said yes. ANYWAY, if anyone knows a dr..in the 'bloomingtonMN area who can help me w/my pain, I would surely appreciate it!!!
Anyone got a Doc in this area? Tired of traveling! It would be REALLY helpful, I'm just looking for meds not to become a pin cushion. Any cash only places? I have insurance....
I know this is no help but I really feel for all of you that have posted on this site. I am Scottish (UK) we have the National Health Service (NHS) here I think it would described it in the USA as Universal Health Care. I'm 50 and I really believe I'd be dead if I lived in your country. I've got 3 healthy kids now 25, 24 & 21. when I turned 40 everything just went to hell. Firstly in 2001 I had a bulging disc got surgery to remove it. March 2005 had under local anesthetic a growth from my right wrist removed, the surgeon diagnosed it as a Ganglion how ever once he began the surgery he realised it was a Pigmented Villinodular Synovitis a benign growth that pushes its way out of the joint. He told me that in his 30 years of experience he had never removed one from a wrist they normally only affect the finger joints. September 2005 diagnosed with breast cancer had a full mastectomy and removal of the lymph glands and immediate reconstruction they gave me a tummy tuck and used the flesh to build me a new breast it is called a DIEP Flap, I had a few months of Radiotherapy treatment and thankfully no Chemo as it had not spread to the lymph glands. A year later I had nipple reconstruction and an uplift to my right breast to make it even with my new left one. I have had two further surgeries when I had Liposuction and the fat was used to plump up my new breast and tattooing to give the appearance of an areola. 2006 slipped and broke my right wrist (had to be the one that had the one that had surgery one it. 2007 diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis so oral medication and weekly Methotrexate injections and very closely monitored blood tests. Now happy days my back has been given me problems had an MRI 2 weeks ago have L5 S1 bulge have an appointment with an Orthopedic Consultant in 2 weeks. I am prescribed very strong oral pain killers and morphine patches and just last week my GP prescribed me Gabapentin to ease the nerve pain caused by the bulging disc and its working like some kind of miracle pill. I'll leave you with one last thought, Scotland has its own independent Government about 2 years ago they abolished prescription charges so not only do I not have to beg my GP for pain killers I don't need to pay for them either. My daughters always say thank God mum you weren't born in America because you'd be dead! My heart really goes out to all of you I understand what it's like to have serious health problems and living with constant pain but having to beg doctors for help is just to awful to imagine. As far as I know the first sentence in the Hypocratic Oath is "First do no harm". From what I've read on this forum doctors in the US seem to have forgotten this fundamental promise they made when they went in to this profession. My very best wishes go out to all of you.
Does anyone know of doctor in the harrisburg-hershey area that is willing to help a patient out with sciatica. The only thing that seems to help is vicodin but they don't want to keep giving me that.
Marko: Many different issues. Buldging discs; Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, etc... You will be happy with him. Just make sure you ask specificially for him. Others in the office are not the same.
Diana, What kind of condition did he treat you for? I slipped and fell on my tail bone and have been having problems ever since.
It is good practice to take direction or suggestion about generic medicines from doctor and decision taken by doctor to create prescription for pain medication.
He is a sweet man. He listens to what you have to say. Much unlike any other doctors. He will do appropriate testing and also had clinical trials that help to determine routes to take for your health.
