Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 163)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

this thread deals with Colorado specifically. However, if you go to the front page you might find a state or city that's closer.
As for methadone, depending on the reason for it, most states have ways to contact the right person. If you are on methadone for pain management, your doctor should be able to refer you to an internist. If you are seeking treatment for other reasons, do you have a counselor you see? They usually have a list of clinics.
I wish I could offer more, but I don't know your situation.

Sarah, If I run across it, I'll get it for u. I thought I had it from the group. I've been worried for a long time about her and I know she was afraid no one wanted to befriend her because of her illness. For some reason, I thought she mentioned her husband. That he had gotten hurt. I've tried her work. All without success.
I had my testing yesterday and biopsies today. Time to hurry up and wait again. They r hoping that most is scar tissue from cpr bit the right side is questionable. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wendy I am so glad you are OK. I wish you were feeling better, but knowing you're OK is a huge relief. If there is anything I can do to help you, you name it! So do the doctors have a prognosis at least?

What a beautiful testament to the love we all have for each other...naturally next time it won't be so scary, but knowing that we notice one of us is missing. So often you hear it's just the internet. Well we are more than that.

I'd b more than happy to help u however I can. If I don't have the answers, I do have the resources from great doc's to get u what u need. I don't have your info. My computer is being borrowed by my son for a week or so, so I'm only on phone right now but of u put in a request, I can answer!
I know a bunch of u Guys wanted to also talk to me privately, I'm typically on the computer, I work in the virtual world but the phone is easiest for me as I can answer anytime without disrupting my work. So if u do want some private time, just request, I will respond.
Wendy, I have never breathed such a sigh of relief when I saw u on. The guys will tell u, I've been bugging about u for most the now.
I'd love to have a face to face. I'm not sure u have heard but Mac sadly passed a few months ago. It was difficult for many of us, like u that have been here since the beginning. U Guys we're kindred spirits and I'm so sorry.
There's such a level of trust now and realistically the virtual world can only take u so far. Sometimes a touch, a hug and a smile will give u a new lease on life. Plus my actual "degree" is in alternative health care practices. Although I work in the western world there's something to b said about remedies that have worked for thousands of years. I'm a firm believer in utilizing anything that can help. Just the developments of the medicinal utilization of pot is fascinating to me and would love to learn more. I myself can't partake but the knowledge could help others and Wendy, I'd love to pick your brain.
It's been somewhat of a difficult time, dealing with Mac's passing and the fallout from that and man can I say everyone was a united front, strong, loving and we would have made u proud.
I say....let's do it! I want to c into the eyes of the beautiful souls I've met here, so I'm game.
Last note, fingers crossed, biopsy results next week. I'm feeling much more positive and it's all of your faults!!! HaHa!

You know, after I sent that last note, it hit me like a ton of bricks. We really DO need to contact each other privately. Lesson learned with Wendy, when someone from our fold hasn't been present, we worry. My friends, that speaks volumes, we really do love each other. We are all from different worlds, different difficulties but r bonded in a way that's difficult to explain. To care in the manner we do for one another renews my faith and truly helps to make me feel whole. Sometimes your notes give me the strength to do things I didn't think I could do that day. I'm blown away how we feel one another's pain, elation and dispare. That this has been virtually, is absolutely amazing and that's because each and everyone of u is amazing and we DO matter. I know knowing that I do matter to u Guys is a BIG deal! Hurrah for us!
