Doctors Willing To Prescribe Heavy Pain Medication In Colorado (Page 117)

I have a serious problem. My dr. had two patients start dr. shopping and has decided it is too big of a pain in his butt to continue prescribing, even though I have gotten MRIs and Xrays to prove my problems. I have over a half a dozen herniated discs in my low back, along with degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and arthritis in my facet joints. I am currently on5 30mg oxycodone a day for breakthrough and 60mg of methadone for my long lasting meds. I REALLY need a doctor in the Denver, CO area who will not judge me because of my age, thinking I'm just some drug seeker as I TRULY need my meds to function. I am even being placed on disability until I can get my back healed because if something doesn't change I will be in big time pain for the rest of my life. If ANYONE knows of a good doctor that prescribes strong meds willingly in the Denver area please let me know. I am in desperate need of help as I am going to be SCREWED if I cannot find a good doctor. SOMEONE please help me with a doctor!!!!!

I have all sorts of sleep issues. That's what I want to email Wendy about. The lack of sleep is even showing up in my blood work, so I'm not going to be able to be on board for a certain day either. When I'm having my "no sleep" spells, I could certainly talk, but I have no way of knowing when those nights are going to hit. I was hoping a bunch of the others could hop in on this one.

CoSusie, it was awful. My friend was supposed to pick me up at 5:30, it started at 6. She didn't come get me until 7:52, we got there are 8:30 and every one was leaving. Come to find out it ended at 9. I pointed out to her that everyone was leaving and she said that we would just eat and leave then. I was embarrassed and I could tell that the host's wife was angry at her and I totally get it. Needless to say I will not be going anywhere with her again.

Ladies this is your pain group , tell me how you want to have it .I can't do it alone .Does everyone have the support numbers? I want to put our stories on air , but before this happens we need our stuff together .

Does anyone know of a doc will prescribe xanax? Im in need of it bad as i have severe panic attacks and my last doc got shut down. I would really appreciate it, thank you.

May be some people are confused as to what, why, how, purpose, etc. May be explain again for everyone what the goal is, how it's going to work and all. Then more would jump in, I'm sure of it.
I think may be people only have bits and pieces and are a little confused.

Please help!!! I have a serious problem, I stopped going to my pain dr cause of money issues, they do not except medicaid ( Colorado pain relief in wheatridge). I've looked up rehab and detox programs and they are all self pay here. I live in Colorado Springs. I am on my 2nd day of detox an I got to tell u it's pretty bad this time, I have been prescribed pain pills for 6 yrs . I am new to this forum an I hope I don't offend or get in trouble. I have parent teacher conferences on the 30th an my kids get out early today an I can barely walk. I'm in hell! We just moved here from New Mexico and I know absolutely nobody! Please help me! Oh my goodness!! What an awful thing for you. Did you know the hostess, or were you at a stranger's who now thinks "what?" :)
So you think you will be invited back next weekend? LOL
Seriously that is sad, cause it could have been a nice evening for you.
Hope you can make the next support group meeting. I know I won't be able to, cause it was almost 6 hours total driving and we aren't up for that. I do want to come again, I just know it won't be this soon.
I learned lots from just the other two people. I can only imagine how much information there would be when more people can make it.

Thx Susie.. this is happening and I think before we all die from the pain and financial stress...we can make a difference. I like to imagine being interview on Channel then taking it all the to the White House, The gov't needs to stop harming chronic pain patients in the midst of this "War on Drugs"...I believe it was Pres Reagan who started it and look how far we HAVE NOT come. In fact more and more people are turning to the streets out of desperation.

DENCOLO..Just call 303-788-0980. They are closed on Thurs but if you call today or Friday morning they prob can get you in Friday. They don't take Medicaid..but they do take lots of other insurance. Cash price is $65. Just tell Monique that you are there to have someone take over your non-pain scripts. Let me know how it goes.

You could try Peak Vista in Colorado Springs. You may not want to stay with them, but perhaps they could help until you find a doctor you want to stay with. They accept Medicaid and it's also a sliding scale payment.

Ok the who : Pain patients unite: Why : creating a better and stronger way of life for us :How by bonding together as one and creating a sister and brother hood .We as pain patients need to lean on each other The power of human touch is far more better than technology. The call system was set up like a crisis line , when the doctors close and everyone else don't really understand We do pick up the phone and call the person on call.

Thanks, that should help everyone understand why it's important. That was a great explanation. There's lots of times that I feel completely alone and it makes me feel very depressed. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way at times. Like I was telling before, I only have the 3 friends left, as everyone who isn't a chronic has drifted away from me. NOT blaming them, because there has been so many times I've cancelled or just am not able to do whatever the plans were. Yesterday was "prescription saga" day LOL. It actually went well this month, but that doesn't make me feel any security for next month or the one after. See, my old non sick friends would be like, "so what's the big deal and why are you even worried about something that's a month from now". Unless you've experienced it, you just can't understand the anxiety that's wrapped up in medication.
You want to see a sick person totally freak out, tell them that their doctor is going to retire or move away. Nervous meltdown time!!! The emotional pit we can fall into when there's something that we have always been able to do, now suddenly for no explainable reason, we can no longer do it without pain. You are so right, there's many reasons we all need to be able to talk to one of us.

I have a question, but I don't want to start WWIII by asking it. I just want to know and then perhaps if there are concerns, the concerns can be addressed.

Is someone starting a "don't post any more" and "don't participate in the support group" idea?

I noticed last week that lots of the regulars weren't posting. And I haven't seen any questions about the support group meeting. So was wondering if someone has concerns and is sort of spreading the paranoid thoughts?
