Doctors Who Prescribe Methadone (Page 15)

I am addicted to strong pain meds and I am tired of having to come off of them, the withdrawal is awful. I went to a urgent care doc and was prescribed suboxone. I take anxiety meds too but he wants me to stop. I really need the anxiety meds but he wants me off them. How do I get him to change it from suboxone to methadone so I can take my anxiety meds?

Not true, as many people combine Methadone and Xanax.

Yes, the CDC or one of the lettered agencies has designated no more opiates and benzos to be prescribed at the same time. My valium was taken away all 10 pills/ month. Sucks!

Not any more. No more combining as said by the CDC, FDA, & DEA.

BTW, as mentioned before the DEA has their fingers in every pie. This means when you go to the Dr.'s, pharmacy, hospital, etc... they are privy to a printout that shows your use for an entire year; when you got refills, for how many, for how long, if you are flagged for anything like rehab, overdose, criminal charges, early refills hospital visits (if you required opiates or benzos), etc.... EVERYTHING is there for them to see at a glance - I've seen this printed out. So if you have a habit of visiting ER's for "lost meds" or faking kidney stones or whatever they can see it. I am only telling you this so you know what you are up against and don't look like a fool not knowing what they know. Perhaps in the rural areas it isn't so regulated - I reside in a metro area with high drug seeking use. In fact a former friend, wore out his welcome at the hospital visiting the ER. All the doctors came into his room and had a quasi intervention. They assigned him a pain doctor to go see; they did give him a Rx and told him that was the last one and not to come back. He did go in twice after being hit by a car; falling in the bathtub, scenarios I believe he created on his own just to get pain medication, I even took him there once because he told me he broke his back - of course he lied - he bruised his shoulder and that is why we are no longer friends. Hate liars.

Please call me {edited for privacy}. I lost my pain management Dr and am going crazy. Methadone is the only drug that will work. Please call with a Dr. for me. Thank u.

One word of advice...you can get methadone easier if you are a VET and you can use the VA hospital. They give it to treat pain and the VA are use to heavy doses of pain meds. they will work with you to get the right drugs to take to treat your illness. That is the best you can do is go to a VA hosp if you can. no one should live in pain.

I have been on methadone for 6 years for pain . I went to clinic due to not able to find Dr to prescribe it bad idea I need to find Dr who will prescribe it. If anyone could help I would deeply appreciate. I live in PA Mercer county there are docters but try get names no one will give name of there Dr.really pisses me off thanks PA girl

YOUR lookin to manipulate people to get your "fix"Just thinking aloud but what entitles you 2 feel pissed that strangers are going to give you names of quality physicians legitemly treating TRUE PATIENTS IN NEED OF SUCH TREATMENT MODALITIES. I hope the good people on here continue to hold the anonymity of these quality professionals for a long time to come. We are NOTALLBAD

Aren't you judgmental!!! Who are you to decide who is manipulative and who isn't. First you don't infer tone from a written message BECAUSE IT DOESN'T HAVE A VOICE. Second, you don't know what this person is going through, and pain is relative - meaning no two people feel pain the same way.

You are judgmental and by the way you write, if I were to act like you I would say you are ignorant, luckily I am not you!

PRIMSEY,Is English your first launguge?I think not... But I digress we are hear to support and hopefully affect a change in the life's of the sick and Suffering.to jeopardize that mission makes you part of the problem not the solution.

You are supposed to tell them you are there because you are an addict you say regarding methadone clinics. The doctor who put me on methadone in 2006-07 , not sure exactly, he got his license stripped because he was overprescribing and many more laws he broke. He basically got me hooked on these pills so I just told the clinic that and what I was on which was 200 mg. per day, which is also far too much. Nobody should be on more than 120 mg./day because it's ineffective to take more than that. Many methadone clinics realize that people are on it for pain also. The p.a. at my clinic sent me back to pain mgmt. to get it from them instead but there are no drs. In Phoenix left willing to write for methadone apparently there is a huge stigma attached to methadone because of overdoses, etc. I told that p.a. at the clinic I'd just be coming back because I wouldn't find a dr. to write a script for me and I did end up back at the clinic again. I just suggest if you are that bad that you just go to the clinic!

What about clonazapam (klonopin) that's what I take with methadone and but I do go the clinic I only have to go 1 day a week and I know in Florida there is a fee appeal. I pay $196. Monthly. So maybe that's a option.

I have been on 150 mg daily of methadone for 12 yrs and I still can be on my benzodiazepines. As long as I show the script every month to MM clinic I'm ok. The ones they taper down are ones that don't have an Rx. I'm in TX.

Yes you can take methadone with anxiety Meds I have been on methadone for 3years at a clinic in the Tampa bay are and I have been on klonopin for 2mg twice a day. And the clinic knows they count them once a month to make sure I'm not abusing them which I have never been into benzos I just have panic disorder. So Im not sure where you got your information but just letting you know its false.

You need both meds to make you feel normal. Pain pills and xanax goes hand in hand it makes you feel normal mental pain to chronic pain

I now that most pm doc's think that methadone is a cure all. Most will not prescribe, antidepressants with methadone. I percribed 200mg a day, then tappered down to 160 mg. I'm struggled thru withdrawal after the good old gov fbi, etc. Closed them down. I was a patient for 10 years. I wish you good luck, but the best information you can get is by learning about which medications do want and when they are 'hibiters, or inhibitors'. Try to find positve cases, and speak with your Dr. Looking him in the eyes, don't worry if he don't persribe it right away, and don't cry or carry-on. Try to think of it as a defendant, ask a Mom & pop pharmacy for information, or where to find the Right Information you need about the medication you need. I prefer privately owned pharmacies, they seem to take more time talking to you. Good luck.

That is absolutly not true ! I have been on Xanax for 14 years and on methadone and oxycodone for 5 years all from the same doc ! Methadone is great for long term pain for the day and then the oxy for break thru and the Xanax is no problem taking it together
