Cymbalta is a horrible drug the side effects are horrible. It makes you have all of the side effects it says. Every single one. All I could think about was hurting myself. I felt crazy plus nausea vomiting bathroom insomnia ## Hello, Candice! How are you feeling? I'm so very sorry about what you went through. Everything you've listed can be normal side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA, along with dry mouth and headache. However, not everyone experiences all of them, it depends on how each person's body reacts to the medication. Have you consulted your doctor? You may need to try a different medication. ## After 1yr of taking Cymbalta my skin has aged 20 yrs and so loose it is disgusting. Bruising, ear problems, itching, on and on Dr does not want to take me o...

I take oxycodone and fentanyl patches but my doctor didn't know about cymbalta or trazodone. I came up positive for them both on a urine drug test, plus methadone, methamphetamine and benzodiazepine. Is that possible or could it of been a false positive? ## R u uk based, try and find a way to reduce if possible as that may help you?

Is there any anti-depressants available that actually can make you loose weight and not gain? ## There's no pill that can make you lose weight. Weight loss comes from calories in and calories out. If you are not eating properly and exercising on a regular basis then it is not the pills fault for having a negative effect on your weight. Surely the drug may have an effect on your metabolism, but this is to a small degree if you cover all the other basis of your health; including but not limited to: Adequate hydration throughout the day Plenty of fruits and vegetables Low fat consumption Exercising at least 3 days a week Adequate rest and sleep schedule Loving others around you and enjoying life Essentially, if you are missing any one of these factors, you will be more prone to experie...

I am on cymbalta 60mg at night and 30mg in the morning along with 200mg of gabapentin 3x a day for fybromayalgia and mild depression. I was given adderall 30mgs and I took a few of them. I felt focused but had started to sweat excessively for a couple of hours and my pupils are dilated. I looked up the symptoms and it linked me to serotonin syndrome. Being freaked out I didn't take my gabapentin or cymbalta yet today. My question is...if I took 60mg of adderall this morning, should I take the other two scripts (cymbalta and gabapentin) today or skip them and wait 24 hrs for the adderall to leave my system? Do I need medical attention or am I being paranoid? My muscles are cramping up in my back and hands so I'm not sure if this is caused from skipping my meds for fibromyalgia or...

Just started this medication, one 30mg capsule and I had the most excruciating burning stomach pain. Within hours I had hot and cold sweats and for 5 days unable to eat or sleep and feeling so very ill. My GP gave me Peptac Liquid which barely helped. Never again! ## I was on cymbalta60 for neuropathy from my cancer treatment. I truly felt like running infront of a bus. I stuck with it for a little bit but to no avail. Coming off of it was just as bad if not worse. Be very very careful. It is for but a few people.

I have been on Cymbalta for 3 months. I was prescribed it for nerve pain. I take it 2x daily but after reading about the withdrawal symptoms i eased into it. I still only take it once daily. I noticed a raise in my blood pressure at the start and odd headaches. I always take it with milk just to help with stomach issues. As far as how fast it works, I think all medicines react different to each individual. This medicine has helped tremendously with nerve pain. Good luck. ## Yes, we are all different, so while the FDA and NIH can list details regarding certain common side effects, there is no way to know how any medication will affect any given person. The typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, weight changes, and mood swings. Are yo...

I've been on Cymbalta for 3 years for depression and anxiety. I am about 30-40 lbs overweight but I can't seem to loose weight no mater what I do. Has anyone else ran into this problem or no what to do to loose the weight. I take 120 mg per day ## Yes, weight gain, or the inability to lose weight can be a normal side effect of most medications in this class according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood swings. Do you also make sure to get plenty of exercise and to eat as healthy as possible? Are you on any other medications?

Well I have being hearing horror stories about this drug. I consulted with my doctor and he said if a person is taking 30mg you have to stop cold turkey. There is NO weaning off this drug from 30mg. So, today I am 3 days off of it. The first day was absolutely fine. Day two I started experiencing swooshing sounds that were coming and going throughout the day. Today still hearing swooshing sounds and my eyes feel like there moving rapidly back and forth. Also, I'm having heart palpitations! This drug is no joke! I intend to keep you guys updated on my progress every couple of days. ## There is a 20mg dosage available that he could've had you switch to and to taper from it, the usual preferred method is to have someone start slowly lengthening the time between doses, according to ...

I live in Virginia and desperately need to find a pain management doctor who will treat stomach pain from Crohn's disease. I've contacted numerous doctors in the area to no avail. It's a rare type of pain to treat, but I need pain meds beyond Cymbalta and Neurontin which I'm already on. I'll gladly travel and at this point it doesn't matter if it's covered by my insurance. I really need help finding a doctor to help with my pain.

I have been on cymbalta 60 mg for several years, recently my doctor prescribed 10mg of doxepin for sleep. I have taken the doxepin before bed and the cymbalta in the morning for 2 days. It didn't help me sleep but I felt dozy and like I don't care both days, like I'm in a capsule by myself. I used the interaction checker and it said that these 2 meds had a high interaction. I've decided not to take a doxepin tonight. I'm interested in some opinions. Thanks ## Yes, there can be risks associated with taking them both, such as developing serotonin syndrome and hyponatremia. This does not, however, mean that they cannot be taken together, but that your doctor does have to carefully consider the prescribed dosages and they should be monitoring you on a regular basis to ch...

Wow! I had NO idea what I was in for with this medication. If anything is too good to be true... it usually is! I started this medication back in September for fibromyalgia symptoms. It was like a miracle. The day after I took it, I woke up almost pain-free and without the "fibro-fog" I had had for the past 10 years. Well, to make a long story short, I joined a gym recently, and began thinking more of the holistic approach to pain management. The side effects of Cymbalta, although I have never experienced any of them except the difficulty sleeping, scared me (especially the liver damage). I had already decided to stop Cymbalta, when my lovely insurance company decided it didn't want to cover it anymore and I would have to pay $200 a month if I wanted to continue it. Well, to ...

I'm taking gabapentin, cymbalta, celexa, bachlaphen, vitamin C, zinc, morphine, valium, vancomycin, will any of these or acombination of any of them make a false positive for meth, ## I'm taking Cymbalta, ibuprofen, retinadine, Nasonex, Loratadine and over the counter Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Can any of these test as false positive for cocaine and methamphetamine....? I never take these but came out with a positive drug test. ## I had a major surgery done and I am on all kinds of pain medicine and Cymbalta and blood pressure medicine too. Is it possible for Cymbalta to show a false test for cocaine? They were giving me oxycodone, morphine, Cymbalta, Valium, and Percocets. I was on the shot for Vistaril which is an opiate blocker too at the time of the surgery and anesthesia and I ...

I have been taking cymbalta now for 6 weeks my dr upped me from 30mg to 4g 3 weeks ago. I feel very down in the morning still & jittery symptoms seem to get better as the day goes on, however I do take .125mg oh klonapin if needed for anxiety. My question is do you think upping to 60mg will help?? I really don't want to come off them as tried so many!!!! Please any help or advice very much appreciated. ## Hello, Phoebe! How are you? It would be best to give the current dose time to reach its full level of efficacy in your body, to see how much it will help you, before making a decision to raise it, again, or not. It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and weight changes. How long h...

I am taking hydroco/acetamin and cymbalta and I had a drug test show positive for methamphetamine. I don't do methamphetamine. Will this cause this? ## I am taking oxycodone, oxymorphone and cymbalta and the Dr. asked me if I had been taking any benzo's. So Cymbalta shows up as a benzo.

I have been on Cymbalta, then changed to the generic Cymgen (30mg) for 8 years. I decided after this amount of time to stop and asked my psychiatrist on ways to do this. FISRT of all, my psychiatrist said that because i was on such a low dose that there will be NO side effects of stopping the drug. My response was to inform her that on days i have missed taking my meds i have severe head zaps and couldn't manage just stopping (Cold Turkey) if that was the case. She then put me on a course to taper off: X2 weeks 30mg Cymgen & 20mg LilyFluoxetime (prozac)- After two weeks i stopped the Cymgen and carried on taking the lily for another two weeks as requested by my doctor. I had my last Lily on the 18th of July 2016. It is now the 10th of August 2016. The withdrawals are so severe t...

So this is a little embarrassing, but I'm going crazy trying to figure it out, so I thought what the heck, let's see if anyone else has experienced this. 4 days ago I started taking Cymbalta for chronic back and tailbone pain. On the second day I noticed that I was having difficulty urinating, no pain...just took extra effort to get the flow started. In addition, I felt a real concerning discomfort in my groin and genitals whenever I was lying down. It's best described as a pressure and almost like the muscles there feel the need to contract and gives me the urge to flex. This has lasted all night for the past 3 days and has pretty much prevented me from getting more than an hour or two of sleep, despite taking pain killers. My last dose of Cymbalta was two nights ago and la...

I was on Celexa for about 2 years, minimal weight gain, Dr switched me to Cymbalta in Oct to address menopausal symptoms. I feel great but have gained 15 pounds since October. I have been watching my diet faithfully, have completely cut out soda, potato chips, sweets - I am existing on cheerios for breakfast, fruit for lunch, and a sensible meal at dinner. I feel bloated and look pregnant. Will this weight go away if I stop cymbalta? This is ridiculous. None of my clothes fit anymore. ## Also I seem to be mixing up numbers and letters sometimes - almost like I've suddenly become dyslexic. And I get brain zaps about mid-afternoon every day. I want to stop cymbalta but I'm really worried about the side effects. But the weight gain and other things I'm going thru make me wonder...

Hi all, just wanted to let people know that this drug is horrible! I was on it for five years for neuropathic pain, look it was good for that ! But then I started suffering depression to the point of having to be hospitalized for suicidal thoughts, I couldn't sleep at nights and just felt like I was going crazy! Finally my psychologist said to go off these drugs, I was worried! Very worried in fact, because I knew what the effects were like even after missing a tablet one day. So I took two weeks off work, I knew this was a safe place to be and was able to be in my bed if needed, I started on a Friday by not taking one of my two tablets (I was on two 60mg pills) then the next night I took my two pills... The next night one, then I started missing a nights worth every 2nd night. The ...
