I was started on Cymbalta 60 mg after Celexa had stopped helping me with my depression. After almost a month on the drug, I began to have nosebleeds and my blood pressure was extremely high. I had never had high blood pressure or a nose bleed in my life and I am 54 years old! They became uncontrollable and I had to be hospitalized and have an epistaxis embolization. I was in the hospital for 5 days due to the bleeding. I mentioned to the physicians that I had read that these were rare side effects of Cymbalta. They all looked at me like I had two heads! I can find no other reason for this sudden health change in me. Has anyone else had something like this happen to them while on Cymbalta? I would like to hear from you. I was just released from the hospital yesterday and am now dealing w...

Hi. I have been on 60 mg Cymbalta for anxiety before with great success (which is why I stopped because I felt so good). Anyway a year later I am having another episode with anxiety and was put back on Cymbalta 30 mg. I was only on that for 8 days and then switched to the 60 mg. I am finding some increased anxiety (but within my body not mind) on the increase and it has been 9 days. My Dr. thinks I should go back down to 30 for three weeks but I almost feel like now that I have been on the 60 for 8 days the symptoms will subside any day and I don't want to start over at 30? Has any one had a similar experience. Replies would be greatly appreciated . Please only positive feedback, no horror stories, I don't think I could handle that right now. THank you! ## Though I haven't b...

I take cymbalta 60mg once daily and it causes false positives for benzodiazepenes....amphetamines .....and oxymorphone! I'm a nurse and its causing problems in my job! It's the only medication I take! It's tested positive on a urine test and two oral drug tests on me! I need the medication but I need my license too! Help! ## I am taking cymbalta also and it caused me to have a false positive for benzos on my last drug test too. ## So was it still the cymbalta showing the false positive? ## Hey, I gave a urine today and I've been prescribed to cymbalta today as well. Benzodiazepines come up in parole drug testing so just be careful with this medication as it gives many side effects. ## I need to take a urine test at my pain management center next month. I am 34 years old and have been taking anti-depressants for about 3 years. I started on Lexapro, which quit working after a year and a half. While I was taking Lexapro I was experiencing horrible exhaustion (I have a disabled child and work full-time...VERY stressful), so my doctor put me on Vyvanse. She also gave me an Rx for Xanax .25mg to take as needed, which I RARELY took (usually only at night to relax). Last spring my stress level went through the roof and my doctor switched me from the Lexapro (which wasn't working anymore) to Pristiq 50mg, which was AWFUL (Horrible, vivid nightmares). I took that for one month before switching to Cymbalta 30mg. I have never liked taking the Vyvanse because it's an amphetamine. During the summer I began experiencing horrible anxiety and ...

Hi all, first time here. I have severe fibromyalgia, bipolar and ADHD. I have been in a lot of pain from the fibro and neck problems despite being given high doses of oxycodone four times a day. I have been. really depressed, unmotivated, indecisive, anxious and somewhat isolated. I finally couldn't take it anymore and went to my psych provider as a walk in. After I told him what had been going on, he decided I should try Cymbalta. From the very first capsule I took, my fibro pain WENT AWAY completely. But here is the problem. I started reading about the drug's lovely side effects and the horrible withdrawal that comes when one gets off of it and I don't know what to do. I am already sweating, leg twitches, and feeling anxious. i don't think I want to take this drug beca...

I need help finding a new PM doctor in Maryland that will prescribe ongoing opiates. I have fibromyalgia and 2 herniated discs with left & right leg radiculopathy. I am currently taking Cymbalta 60mg, Percocet 10/325 (which barely helps and was just reduced to bid) and Gabapentin 300mg bid (which I'm coming off of bcuz of severe anxiety and mood swings). I was changed from Lyrica bcuz although it was helping with the pain it made me feel awful. My PM doctor had given me 3 steroid injections with each helping less than the first and now she trying to wean me off the Percocet bcuz she states I have been taking it for a year and the treatment plan has not helped. I am looking for a Dr in MD that will continue to prescribe my opioids and hopefully include a long-acting opioid into m...

I am currently taking Cymbalta for my osteoarthritis, but really can't tell if it helps any. I realize I will have to be taken off the Cymbalta slowly by my doctor. However, I wonder if I might be able to start Limbrel while being "weaned off" of the Cymbalta? Would that be safe? ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed, but the ultimate decision is up to you and your physician. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Limbrel as possibly including upset stomach, gas, and diarrhea. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?

I took Cymbalta for about 10 years, and it seemed to help with a lot of my depression symptoms. I had to increase the dose over time, and maxed out at 120mg. But the last year or two I was taking it, it just didn't seem to do much anymore, and my depression had gotten worse as well. Has anybody been in the same boat? If so, would love to know if you've found something else that works well for you. ## It is normal for a medication to stop working as well for you, over time. Your body basically builds up a tolerance to them, which results in your needing a higher dosage, or medication change, according to FDA warnings. Have you consulted your doctor? Are you on any other medications? ## Do not quit this drug suddenly. You must taper off or you will have some had withdrawals

I need to get off of cymbalta because I no longer have an ability to feel life. I no longer feel like I have what it takes to grow as a person and continue building myself. I feel stumped and I feel like my body shakes and aches because I am so frail. My life on Cymbalta is pure laziness and sleepiness. The problem is over-sleeping and not feeling active enough or energized enough to get out of bed. The active and energized person who had an ability to feel things and follow his drive has been completely tarnished by an over-use of this horrible daily drug. My brain has been zapped and "blocked" I guess you could say because this is a dopamine uptake inhibitor. I feel like there is a cloud in my head, almost like a little visor, or massive shield of blankness and loss of ability...

I have been prescribed this drug for leg pain, has anyone had this prescribed for related pain. What did it do. ## Yes, I take Cymbalta, and have for approx 6 month. I was diagnosed with human parvovirus, and the fibromyaglia is here to stay. It has does wonders for me. Lifted my spirit as well as has addressed my pain! I'm not as stiff, and my pain has greatly reduced. Its an interesting high. I'm an athlete, and I can really tell the difference when I don't take it. thanks Lee ## I HAVE BEEN TAKING WELLBUTRIN FOR OVER A YEAR AND THIS HAS SEEMED TO WORK. WHAT SIDE EFFECS COULD OCCUR FROM TAKING BOTH, AND SHOULD I CHOICE TO ONLY TAKE THE CYBALTA WILL THIS BE AS AFFECTIVE AS WELLBUTRIN HAS...

I had a gastric bypass in 2001. I am on a higher dose of Cymbalta. Does anyone know if the absorption of this medication altered by gastric bypass? ## Most medications are, but to be certain, I would recommend checking with your doctor or pharmacist, they will be the only ones who can give you a definite answer on that in relation to the dosage you are on. ## I had Gastric bypass some years ago. There doesn't seem to be any difference. ## I had RNY surgery in 2003. It seems I take higher dosages of ANYTHING, due to the surgery. When (blood) lithium levels were tested, and medication was supposedly a theraputic dosage, I had much lower levels than the norm. I use a pill sorter and NEVER miss doses, so go figure. ## I had RNY in 2006. I don't know about Cymbalta, but my surgeon sa...

My Dr had me on Cymbalta 60 mg twice a day for years Recently added one more a day 60mg three times a day Insurance declined and said not covered and not recomended I looked up side effects because I feel terrible and its been eight years on this medication with at least six years twice a day 60 mg ## The FDA lists the maximum daily dose as being 120mgs once daily, though some people may need to split it up into several doses, but your insurance company is correct, 3 doses a day would be more than recommended. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, and weight changes. Have you ever tried any other medications? Have you consulted a specialist?

I started cymbalta 30 mg for a week, and now I've been on 60 mg nearing a complete month now. I have a couple chronic sports related injuries and a new issue in my neck causing some referred nerve pain into my head. My doc was hoping Cymbalta would help with both my pain and mood which has been down. Nerve pain is very depressing. I thought I was starting to finally experience mild pain relief the last few days but today I had a bit of a flare up in nerve pain again which was disappointing given the mild recent pain relief I was experiencing. I'm hoping this is a situation where my body is still adjusting to the medication, so ups and downs are to be expected? For those who take cymbalta for pain relief, how long did it take? Was it sudden? My doc wanted me to experiment for atl...

I started 30MG Cymbalta three weeks ago. I have major depression. I have noticed that very quickly I felt amazingly good with all sysmtoms gone. Then the next day, back to anxiety and depression. I went to 60MG. I was like a zombie. Then I stopped for 2 days. On the 3rd day I felt great again. So I went back to 30MG. No effect. Has anyone else experiened thsi patchy in-out effect? ## My generic Cymbalta, suddenly stopped working. I have intense sensations of forboding, my body aches, I dream crazy stuff. I get jolts through my body, like electric current. My Doctor is raising my level of generic Cymbalta. Great, just what I wanted, to be on MORE medicine..... ## A very good description of what depression is like, patchy. In and out. Engaged and normal. then sleepy.... cant work... tired...

I had been taking 90mg of cymbalta for about a month or so, and I ended up with a manic episode. My doctor told me to immediately stop taking the cymbalta and put me on 5mg of abilify. I believe I am now experiencing cymbalta withdrawal (so far, severe dizziness and body aches) and I'm just confused as to why my doctor would have me completely stop 90mg of cymbalta if withdrawal was a risk. Also, I'm wondering if anyone has any tips to lessen the withdrawal symptoms. ## Only the doctor can give you a definitive answer, but the best guess would most likely be that they were concerned about the medication possibly inducing more manic episodes, which it can sometimes do, according to FDA reports. The only thing that will really lessen the withdrawal symptoms, now, is time. Has ther...

I am currently taking Cymbalta and Oxycodone. In the mornings on several occasions when I urinate it is very dark brown. Could either of theses medicines cause this? I'm thinking of calling my Dr anyways but just needed to know if anyone else has experienced this from either of these medicines? ## Hi derrek, it sounds like you may be experiencing a more serious side effect of the Cymbalta. I checked with medline plus and it says: "Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of the following side effects, or those mentioned in the IMPORTANT WARNING or SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS section, call your doctor immediately or get emergency medical treatment: ... - unusual bruising or bleeding - pain in the upper right part of the stomach - swelling of the abdomen - itching - yellowi...

I've been on Cymbalta 60mg for my Rheumatoid Arthritis and chronic back pain. It took a few weeks to get over the initial side effects and then I did fine. The last few months I've been having weird symptoms that neither of my Drs can figure out. I have these days where it seems like hard labor just trying to breath. My pulmonologist says there is nothing wrong with my lungs but I have to be on oxygen at night and often in the afternoons. The fatigue is overwhelming. Then there are the waking dreams. If I fight to stay awake I will sort of halucinate. These aren't side effects of other drugs. I take very little pain meds as they don't do much good. The incidents aren't associated to any other meds. Then there are the sweats. I'll be freezing cold and sweating. I ...

I have been on Cymbalta for years now for depression and it works. My only problem is I have fatigue in the morning and afternoon, and its most common after eating. I have been diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and use a machine, but the fatigue will still be there. I have high blood pressure and thyroid issues. I have talked to doctor after doctor. I eat healthy and I exercise in the morning. I lost weight, and I still feel the fatigue. I don't drink caffeine, so coffee is not an option. This morning was worse, as I felt like I needed to get out and run around my car ## That can be a normal side effect of this medication, but it could also be due to depression and other health issues, according to NIH studies. What type of doctor's have you been consulting? It sounds like there c...
