Currently On 45 Mg Mitrazapine And 54 Mg Concerta For Depression.

Updated

I have been on 45 mg of mitrazapine for about one year for depression and insomnia. For the past few months 54 mg of concerta has been added in hopes of helping my depression. I really don't feel much better and my anxiety has increased along with my patience. I feel nervous and miserable most of the time. The mitrazapine does help a bit with my sleep, but takes a few hours to take effect. When I wake up each day, I feel like I have a hangover even though I have consume alcohol in months. Any body out there feel like this? I have been unable to work in over 31 months. My depression is so severe that I have actually qualified for permanent long term disability benefits thru my employer..

What type of doctor are you seeing, is it a specialist or a general practitioner?

If you're not seeing a specialist, I'd suggest you do so, because they are much better qualified at handling this type of thing.

And the Concerta is a stimulant medication that's usually used to ADHD and narcolepsy, so it can cause irritability, anxiety, headaches, insomnia and etc. as side effects.

Learn more Concerta details here.

Thus, it most likely just isn't the right medication for you to take and you may need to try something else.

There are many people that suffer depression like this and it's really just a matter of trial and error, until you discover the right combination of medications and therapy that will help you.

My ex-husband suffers chronic depression and it tookÂyears before the right solutions were found to help him and he still has problems sometimes.

Are there any questions or comments?

Over the past 31 months, I have been on numerous anti depressants which include, pritiq,Wellbutrin, ability. I do see a "shrink" monthly and my family Doctor bi-weekly.i have not gotten better at all. Twice I tried Seroquel, and it made me go "nuts". I had severe panic attacks to the point I almost called 911 as I thought I was going to die.

After talking with my psychiatrist, I am stopping the concerta as my anxiety was at an all time high. We are sticking with mitrazapine and are going to try lamitcal. Hope I spelled it right. Will keep you updated.
