I have been looking for information regarding the connection with ptsd and chronic pain. I have been diagnosed with ptsd from a a car wreck that occured in march of 09. I substained several injuries. To mention four fractured ribs, a fractured collar bone and a possible fractured neck. I understand that I have had time for my injuries to heal but I am still experiencing severe pain, even in parts of my body that werent injured during the wreck. I have been told two totally opposite things about this. One is that I must have a severe/chronic injury such as spinal damage to experience chronic pain with ptsd. The other thing I have been told is that with ptsd you do not have to experience any injuries to experience chronic pain if you have ptsd. Could you please clear things up and if possible list one or more references to the answer? My phsyciatrist recommended that I see a pain specialist but after a few months the pain specialist said they were going to have to taper my meds down if I didnt get an mri and show that I have a serious back issue. They said I must have a physical injury that would need chronic care. Is this correct or do they not fully understand the correlation between ptsd and chronic pain? Thank you!

Understand your frustration. I fx'd 3 vertebrae 14, herniated disc at 21, broke both feet 2 ys ago (11 fx's total, one needs fusion) Now foot is giving out & I fell fx'ing left carpal bone (major hand). I am 53, why is it so difficult to get pain relief? Never used to be like that. Thank you much. Have documentation, not drug-seeking.

The tablet with the A 214 marking was manufactured by Actavis and they list it as having contained 15mgs of Oxycodone, which is used to treat moderate to severe pain. NDC: 52152-0214 This tablet has been discontinued.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, headache, and dry mouth.

Ref: Medline Plus Oxycodone

Regarding PTSD, and chronic pain, there is study here that discusses that, and the correlation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
