Cardace H 2.5 - Side Effect

I am 55 year old woman. I have been taking Cardace 2.5 mg for the past 1 year. I get severe coughing bouts 4 to 5 times a day and then it stops. Has anyone observed such a side effect of Cardace?

Which one are you taking, Cardace or Cardace-H?

They both contain Ramipril, but the Cardace-H also includes Hydrochlorothiazide and, if this is the one you're taking, then the coughing might be due to some dehydration occurring from the Hydrochlorothiazide.

Yes, Ms Tanya. I was taking cardace-H 5+12.5 and without knowing that it is causing side effect I suffered for more than a year. Then one fine morning I consulted the physician in RML, Delhi who told that to few patients it causes dry cough. He changed the medicine and the cough was cured within few days without any medicine. I advice you also to change the medicine after consulting your physician.

i am a bp patient due to the inavailability of my medicine CARDIOPRILL H5 the pharmacy suggested to take the cardaceH5 .iam having some sickness due to not taking the regular dose of tablets .for the current convenience can i take the suggested medicine.

I am an old Indian lady, pure vegetarian, never ever had a cholesterol problem. I had psvt wpw syndrome which vanished with medication recently. But my Lvef has dropped to 56% and my blood pressure is 140/80. My doctor has prescribed cardace 2.5 but my concern is whether it will decrease my blood pressure or not?
