Alvogen Oxycodone 10-325 Pill (Top voted first)

Updated

I read this information about the pills on here and people want to make you think your crazy about medicine you have been taking for years. Like I have been taking the WATSON brand Oxycodone 10/325 for years and 1 always worked. It was the only pain med I was taking. I get up in the morning and hurt so bad I would take 1 and with in 15 minutes I felt I could make it through the day. I always had some left over every month. On Jan 2014 I went to get my meds filled and all the sudden no one seems to have the WATSON brand so I got stuck with ACTAVIS brand pill A333 on it for the whole month of Jan I hurt so bad then in Feb I told my Dr when I got my Prescription he told me to try another pharmacy. I did and I got the ALVOGEN Pill Yellow 230 and the same thing. it worked a little better but not like all the years before Jan 2014. We are not DUMB there is a difference. It's not just 1 person who has noticed it..Read on here several people have complained about the medicine not working as well. So for people who believe their medicine is not working..IT"S NOT WORKING!! they try to tell you it's the same to make your mind believe it..Like a PSYCH. effect...

Lately I have been having the same problem with pharmacies changing their generic brands of Oxycodone. I currently take 7.5/325. Activis, Alvogen does not work for me. Endocet, Mallinckrodt and Watson are the only ones I've found effective. I sick of always shopping around for what works and my pain doc thinks I'm nuts. With the FDA allowing the 20% difference, the doc thinks you are getting used to the meds, which in some cases isn't true, its the manufacture of the pill is my opinion. With pharmacies constantly changing their generics because of insurance it's effecting us chronic pain patients with all the different fillers they like to add to them. The 20% tolerance they have shouldn't be so. It should be exact as name brand because that is what you are paying for or were prescribed. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you and so very helpful! Shouldn't a generic manufacturer be required to disclose what percentage over or under the name brand? There is a BIG difference between 20% over and 20% under! I agree with you on the preference of generic brands.

Are you willing to sign my petition against Actavis for taking over the Watson brand? change.org

Yes, we need 1000s of signature to FDA.

Verwon, isn't it just ridiculous how generics can get away with a whole host of "abnormals?" I don't know of ANY company that puts more of the active med in but doesn't change the price! At least not in this day & age! I, in the last 2 years, have had more problems than I can count when taking generic meds that seem to be Indian based. ( from India). Even though many of their pharmaceutical labs are here in the US they are still using ingredients that are not in the US but in their country of origin. When I am prescribed a 10mg pill, I expect 10mgs! I am NOT, however, going to pay the exuberant prices of name brand drugs! I'm not just talking about pain meds either but ALL meds. It has been noted that, say oxycodone for example, a 10mg pill could have only approximately 6.67mg of the active ingredient oxycodone! I actually read all this on the FDA website along with problems with one Indian pharma co that had so many quality issues against them that they weren't allowed to sell their meds to the U.S. nor were they able to open any labs in the US until ALL errors were fixed. Well, the FDA must have turned a blind eye to one mfctr in particular, the one with all the issues, because the issues were not corrected and yet we receive 40% of our generic meds from said company. Not only that, but they have opened mfctr labs in the US! All this took place in Nov 2013, checked on in Sept 2014, and found no corrections and my mother got meds from their company right here in the good ole USA! The meds made her very sick, increased her pain, and STILL nothing is done after thousands of complaints! Well, the thousands of complaints were against Actavis and I am not talking about them at all. They are also India based! Go figure! The FDA not the mfctrg companies are doing absolutely nothing to remedy the situations found with all these complaints! Why get involved (fda) if you're not going to do anything about it?

Actavis, AFTER I called about the horrible "percocets" I got from them, called me, took my complaint, asked for my pharmacy info so they could call them to get batch numbers, etc....AND THEN had the nerve to send me a letter stating that since I didn't provide them with the batch number, etc there was nothing they could do! I gave them the pharm phone number just so they COULD get this info! I also told the head of QC that this is not a batch problem but a quality of med problem! She said to me..." Well, I'm not a medical professional so I can't really say." THE FREAKING NERVE! So, I shot back...." Well, I AM a medical professional so I CAN tell you the problem!" Funny how we never talked after that...I just received the letter I mentioned above! No one is doing a damn thing to check into all these claims of bad drugs! The pharmas don't care and neither does the FDA or anyone else! It's very sad we live in the land of the free and can't even count on our meds to do their jobs! AND, THERE IS NOTHING FREE THERE, RIGHT?

I am facing the same situation with the Actavis and Alogen not working, but my local pharmacist seems to have picked up these two as their standards, so I have to request that they order Endocet. I find it appalling that the drug manufacturers are allowed a 20% decrease in active ingredients (Let's face it, they won't be going 20% the other direction and give us something that is more effective.) I am on-board with what Mick suggests, that the deviation be listed. Think of how many of us with chronic pain conditions (mine is cervical spinal stenosis and fibromyalgia) suffer needlessly due to this moronic policy! I learned about the Alvogen and Actavis issues last winter when my pain was the worst due to the weather, then had 3 horrible months until I broke down and ordered name-brand Percocet at $100 each 28 days (versus 7 for generics) just to get some pain relief. I believe that in addition to Tracy's petition, someone ought to draft legislatIon (yes, any citizen can do it) and get associations behind it and submit it through Congressional reps or Senators, with the community at large sending it to their Congressional reps. Anyway, I thank Selenapissed off and others who wrote on this and other blogs about the problem. It helped me feel like I was not going nutters.

I might be mistaken but I think watson was purchased by actavis or vise versa. I used to get watson oxycodone 10/325 which worked fine. The past two months I've gotten alvogen generic oxy and it does not work at all. And now that walgreens cant fill prescriptions for pain meds I have to drive all over the place just trying to get my script filled.

Ken, I'm willing to bet the farm, that, you are in some way, connected to the profitability of the pharmaceutical industry....or, you simply just do not have much experience with pain meds. good for you if the latter is the case, I hope you never need them. For the rest of us that have to suffer...

I have been on the same Oxycodone 10/325 for over 2 years. The only place I can get it filled uses this brand. It has never worked. I have spoke with my doctors. They don't have an answer. I have not brought up the manufacturer but I have been trying to look into it lately bc i feel like I am crazy. I need something different and it is impossible for me to get. I don't know what to do.

I'm a 62 year old chronic pain patient and I can tell you there is often a world of difference from one brand of generic to another. I've had some generic 15 mg oxycodone in a lt brn tablet that was essentially worthless. have had decent luck with the Mallinkrodt brand generic

This month alvogen is really bad . I have several empty bottles. This new supply has a heavy powdery coating. None of the other bottles have any coating. Perfectly clean. This month the Alvogens are placebos fake no good.

I have been on 10 mg Percocet 4 per day for severe chronic pain. I usually get from Walgreens a generic brand mfg is Actavis. I have been a customer of Walgreens for years and fill all my other prescriptions with them. Well, yesterday I went for a refill and the pharmacist tells me they don't have any and no Walgreens has any. Basically, he told me that he could do nothing for me and had no idea when if ever they would get more. Said they get deliveries once a week and did not get any this week and was doubtful if they would get any next week! This is outrageous and should be criminal! Someone is screwing with legitimate pain patients. Another pharmacist told me they are "lying" to their customers. After two days of missing work and driving all over Central Florida to small community drug stores recommended by my doctor, I was able to get half of my prescription filled, BUT they gave me Alvogen brand and these are the worst pills ever, Do Not Work! In the last 4 hours I have taken 3 pills - 30 mg and still have severe pain and cannot function! I feel hopeless and unable to work! Normally 2 pills took away my pain for 6 hours and I had two for the next 6 hours. Now I only have one left for the next 8 hours till I go to bed, hope to sleep, then wake up with a pain level 10+, and start over again. This is a horrific way to live! The doctors, pharmacists, drug companies and government are destroying REAL patients lives and they do not care! The war on drugs is targeting the wrong people. It is going to create a worse problem when some patients are going to be forced to the streets to find relief, end up dying if they don't commit suicide first. I would not take illegal drugs or kill myself, but I expect to be taken seriously, treated like a person, not a criminal! WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS! There is something seriously wrong in this country. It's the truth. What is a decent person supposed to do? BTW, I am not rich, support myself and am not privileged, like the wealthy people who obviously don't have this problem. Think about it!
