I have had issues with Lupin's bupropion XL, and now it seems I am having issues with Lupin's quetiapine. It seems like everything they make is full of side effects. After starting quetiapine 100 mg instant release (sorry I don't know the manufacturer), I noticed I would fall instantly to sleep. Now that I am taking Lupin's quetiapine 300 mg, I have insomnia. That really doesn't make sense, because quetiapine is such a strong sedative, especially 300 mg instant release. I have even taken 100 mg of trazodone on top of 300 mg of quetiapine, and I am still not sleepy. I sleep until 11 am, I don't feel rested at all, and can't wake up in the morning without 5-6 alarms. I've also had issues with weight gain (normal), binge eating and eating cravings (normal), ...

hi, I've been taking quetiapine now for a number of years. I started out taking the extended release version of the drug for a couple of years, then was switched to the standard version around three years ago, as I suffer from insomnia, and cannot get to sleep without some kind of assistance, even where I haven't slept for days. I'm on 800mg per day, with 300 being taken during the day, and the remaining 500 being taken in the evening time. I suffer with paranoid type schizophrenia, and I do find that taking seroquel seems to keep the psychotic symptoms reduced to a manageable level. However, I've been suffering with side effects that include seizing up, where my whole body seems to contract, which can be extremely painful, I find breathing becomes a problem, and I can b...

I have recently been prescribed quetapine for sleeplessness-- 50 mg per night. It is functioning perfectly. I get 8 hours of sleep and don't wake up feeling drugged. My wife has approximately 100 pills (200mg) which are from an outdated prescription ("discard after 5/11"). What is the shelf life of quetiapine? Besides the possible diminished potency of 1/4 of 200mg per night, are there any other issues with my usage? I have used that dosage (1/4 of her old 200mg pills) a couple of times and experience no difference in effect. Anything wrong with continuing? ## Hello, Barry! How are you? From what I've been able to find via the FDA, this isn't one that gets dangerous once it's expired, but it does start to lose potency. Thus, it would really be best to just dispos...

My Doctor prescribed this med. for sleeplessness. About three weeks later I felt pressure in my head, felt faint, short of breath, or like a very bad hang over, or like I've been poisoned. Plus a high rise in blood pressure. I don't drink or do illegal drugs. I stopped taking the drug and feel 90% better. The only thing is I can't sleep now, I get about 2 hrs a night. ## I've been taking seroquel/quetiapine. What can i do for sleep when I'm not taking these drugs? ## Take Diphenhydramine. It's OTC and safe. ## I've been on quetiapine for the last 4 years. If I continue taking quetiapine for my entire life does it become harmful or cause any side effects? In recent days, I stopped regularly checking-in with my doctor. ## Take an actual sleep aid, unless you ac...

Just started 100 mg I felt like I was drunk I don't like this feeling will it go away ## Hello, Crashette! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. The FDA does list dizziness and drowsiness as being possible side effects of Quetiapine, along with weight changes, mood swings and dry mouth. However, it should only last about 3 to 4 weeks, it should taper off in severity, as your body gets used to the medication and then go away entirely by around 4 to 5 weeks. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Hey. I take quetiapine (seroquel) for anxiety at 50 mg. I'm just wondering because I recently went to a different pharmacy to fill my prescription if there is a difference between brands. I have always received co-quetiapine, but this pharmacy gave me apo-quetiapine. Does the different brand matter? Will it have any effect? ## No, there shouldn't be a noticeable difference, both manufacturers are required to meet the same strict standards in order for their medications to be available for your doctor to prescribe. The FDA warns that Seroquel may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, gas, stomach pain, and fainting. Ref: Seroquel Information Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking the generic for Seroquel 400mg, Quetiapine Fumarate, for over a year. It treats my depression, anxiety, and insomnia. Two weeks ago I received a generic made by Accord. That first night I barely slept and my insomnia didn't improve. Also, my symptoms of depression, anxiety, and poor concentration returned. I called the pharmacist but he said I had received the correct medication. I went to my Dr. because I was having a major relapse of symptoms. He suggested I try a generic manufactured by a different company. So, I did, and wouldn't you know, I slept like a baby. This recurrence of symptoms has been difficult. I work for a bank and I can't make mistakes. For the last two weeks, due to poor concentration, I have been making lots of them. I am happy that I ...

Hi evryone, does anyone know how to come off 500mgs quetiapine safely after 2.5 years? Many thanks, ## If you're like me, the drug makes you drowsy, and you need to speak up and discuss this with your doctor and bring the dose down over the years. It's almost certain there is some substantial dose you need, say, to sleep well, but it's quite a powerful drug and the side effects can be debilitating. Every 25 or 50mg is quite a lot, and needs two weeks for you to observe and be comfortable with the changes. It's not like going off completely, and well worth trying to reduce.

Hi there my dad has just been prescribed these tablets and has been in them for a few days now and keeps having sleepless nights is there anything he can do? ## Hello, Dawn! Have things gotten any better? Insomnia is actually very odd for this one, because it usually causes the opposite problem, people taking it tend to feel very somnolent and sleep a lot. Has he consulted his doctor? This is something that should be checked out. Does he take any other medications?

What does the acc on quetiapine fumarate 25 mg acc mean? And is there a difference from the same thing w/ out the acc? ## Hello, Anthony! How are you? That's just an abbreviation for the manufacturer, which in this case is Accord Healthcare, so no, there is no difference, since this is a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies. Some prescriptions labels may list the manufacturer, some may not. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, sore throat, and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Is it OK for my son to take 25 MG of sequel at the same time he takes 30mg abilify every night for mental issues? My brother has been put on this and started having seizures. Want to know more about it, whether these are possible side effects? ## That can be a possible side effect of this medication, according to the FDA reports, although it isn't a common one. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, weight changes, and pancreatitis. It could be that this is not the right medication for him to take, and he may need to try something else. Has he discussed the situation with his medical provider?

I was prescribed 25mg Quetiapine, because I was still going down-hill with depression, and it seemed to do the trick. However, in a bid to save NHS money, my psychiatrist decided that the dose was so small (he claimed that it was almost 'homeopathic') that I should stop taking it. I did, and after one week, I was having hallucinations, and after 2 weeks I was having a major psychiatric episode, and my wife wanted to stick me in the local unit. She got my GP to put me back on it, and, after a few weeks, I was back to 'normal'. My haematologist reckons that my daily chemo for leukaemia increases the effect of Quetiapine ## Hello, Richard! How are you doing? I am very sorry about what you've been through. What chemo are you on? This information would enable me to resear...

Dear everyone. Yes this pill is commonly used for the treatment of bipolar disorder as well as other antipsychotic illness such as schizophernia and mood stabaizers....I have also used it for trying to get my psyche back on track...But other than one or two post I've seen nothing written about the positive affects it can do for sleep....I've suffered from insomnia for 11 of my 30 years....As well as 300 of trazadone...Yes when put together they work wonders....But without my seroquel and the trazadone alone I was up all night....Yes I admit over ten years I have become dependent on them...While I admit I think it has to do with more with knowing I dont have the pills but who knows? But one thing I will not miss out on is my sleep..So for a pill you can take and sleep the whole n...

When will 50 mg of quetiapine fumarate expire once the prescription is filled? ## Based on my research, Quetiapine fumarate has an expected shelf life of 36 months (or 3 years). However it's come to my knowledge from a Harvard Medical School family health article, that most medications can last up to 10-15 years without expressing many signs of degradation or loss in potency. So you shouldn't have any problems using it later down the road as long as it's stored properly. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Quetiapine Details I hope this helps! ## I was given a prescription of 100 mg seroquel in 2009 i stopped taking and have 1-bottle unopened still has safety seal on it. Can cyclobenzaprine be taken with bupropion, lamotrigine, quetiapine fumarate and gabapentin? Currently, I am taking all of those. ## Have they all been prescribed for you? Is the prescribing doctor aware that you are taking all of them? It's not that they can't be combined, but it must be done very carefully, with the doses taken under careful consideration and the patient being regularly monitored.
