Can You Over Dose On Ramipril

I Accidentally took two 5mg Ramipril and my dose is one. As anyone wonders, should I worry? ## That's really not a dangerous dosage, though it could cause more severe side effects than usual, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and lowered blood pressure, according to FDA warnings. However, it is always best to double check with a medical professional. Are you on any other medications?

I forgot I had taken my meds in the A.M. and took another dose about 3 hours later. I haven't felt too good since. Should I be concerned or will time take care of it? ## Doubling up could cause you to experience more side effects, such as low blood sugar, low blood pressure, nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and diarrhea, according to FDA reports. However, in most cases, doing so just once isn't dangerous, but it is always wise to double check with your doctor, or pharmacist. How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects?

i have been on 12.5mg of ramipril each day for the past 2 and half years. We have now got a new doctor in our practice and he says that it is a too high dosage for me and now has put me on 10mg of ramipril and 5mg of amlodipine. Could the high dosage of rampipril caused anything to me, i have my blood pressure checked every three months and bloods done every six months or can it do anything to me in the future. ## That's actually not a really high dosage, it can go up to 20mgs a day for hypertension. Why did he feel it was too high of a dose, were your blood pressure readings low, while you were taking it? Next question, why is it only being checked every 3 months? Are you checking it yourself, at home? ## I have not had a bowel movement in almost 4 months. Have had every test known...

Hi, I was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and 3 meds were added to what I already take (I also have MS). I started using a weekly med organizer to mainly keep track of steroid tapering. I forgot to put my Ramipril and didn't realize until I began sweating profusely and headache. I think it was 3 missed days. I have been on this medication for approx 4 years. I take 5mg daily. I am 54 yr old female. Are these symptoms being caused by missed doses or is it something else? ## It is hard to say, it may be due to missing the medication, but it could also be due to some other cause. Have you started taking it, again? If so, has there been any change? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, and hypotension. Taking a st...

I had a heart attack and stent a couple of years ago. I'm on aspirin, bisoprolol, atorvastatin and ramipril. I also take levothyroxine each morning. I have been feeling very tired and my blood pressure is very low, typically about 100 (or less) over 50 ish. With my drs agreement my dose of ramipril has been reduced to 5mg per day from 10mg. I take one in the morning and one at night. My blood pressure has increased slightly and seem steadier (although I had a reading of 98 over 47 yesterday) and I'm probably not as tired, although its hard to tell. My question concerns whether it is better to have the higher dose for prevention and put up with low blood pressure, or to have the lower dose and be at more risk! I don't know what is best and my dr seems to be leaving that decis...

I have been taking a half tablet of Amlopress-AT daily for several years. It used to keep my blood pressure (BP) at 130/80, sometimes even less than that. A doctor friend of mine advised me to avoid this medicine, as it contains Atenolol, a beta blocker; as per him, it's not suitable for someone of my age (62 years). He suggested that I switch to Ramcor 2.5 mg. So, for the last month, I have been taking Ramcor daily instead of Amlopress-AT. However, over the last few days, I have found my BP to be quite high - it was 160/80 a few days ago; today, it was 170/80. There has been no change in my lifestyle, diet, or exercise regimen. Please could you advise me on what medicine I should take? ## What dose where you taking of the other medication? It may just be that the current dosage of ...

I am been having sky high reading at night. tonight is 148 over 90 ## Yes, you should follow your doctor's instructions on when to take it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am thinking of switching from 10 mg Ramipril to Coversyl. Does anyone know what the equivalent dose of Coversyl is please? ## Each 2.5mg of Ramipril is equivalent to 4mgs of the Perindopril in the Coversyl, so you'd be looked at about 16mgs as an equivalent dosage. Why are you thinking of switching? Is the Ramipril not working for you? Learn more Coversyl details here. ## Thanks the Ram works fine, but my wife who is a Diabetic Educator works with the Diabetes specilist Docs, and they think Coversyl is slightly better than Ramipril.

I have just been prescribed Lercanidipine and Candesartan for my BP and was told not to take Ramapril anymore because of a cough I have had for about 3 months reading the side effects on both of these medicines it says a cough is likely is this true as I want to get rid of my cough and not prolong it. I have had a CT scan and the hospital have put it down to the Ramapril I was taking. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. ## The Ramipril cough is dreadful. I was fine on 2.5mg as soon as dose was increased I felt as if my throat was closing off and I developed a cough like Gollum!! As a nurse I knew exactly what was causing it and returned to doc and requested a change. The cough disappeared very quickly. ## The dry cough can be a side effect of most blood pressure and heart medica...

Hi there. I wonder if someone could ease my fears. I started taking lansoprazole two weeks ago. It's a fairly small dose of 30mg once a day. Although it's keeping the dreadful reflux in check, today my urine is literally fluorescent yellow...and I'm terrified!! I dont take supplements, or vitamins, I drink an adequate amount of water each day, but I do take some other prescribed medications for high blood pressure. These are Losartan, Tildiem, Bendroflumethiazide, and Ramipril. I feel perfectly well...apart from the panic over the colour of my pee :( I really hope someone can end my fears ## Hello, Capercaillie3! How are you? I didn't find it listed as a side effect for the Lansoprazole, but many blood pressure medications can cause that, as reported by the FDA. They can...
