I have been using ambien for 1 yr,I have heard bad press about heart conditions,,although no bad side effects for me,would ramelteon be a better choice? ## I haven't found anything that definitively says Ambien can cause heart conditions. However, using it for a year does give you the risk of becoming dependent on it, that's why it's actually only approved for short term use. two days after I started taking this medicine, my feet,hands and stomach began to swell up--edema. Is this due to the medicine?
