I was prescribed the above medication for pink eye. I was wondering if I could use this for an ear infection that is caused by clogging of my ear canal. I have tried using the peroxide treatment to no avail. It is now beginning to hurt and swell. I have also taken some aspirin for the imflamation and was consider getting some over the counter nasal decongestant. ## Have you consulted a doctor? While antibiotics are used to treat infections, they aren't going to solve the origination of the problem, which is the clogging of your ear canal. If it didn't respond to peroxide, then your doctor is going to need to clean the ear out for you to remove the obstruction.

Hi - I was diagnosed with an inner ear bacterial infection, that I'm treating with Polymyxin B (with Sulfate) - no other antibiotic in the ear drops. I'm on my 3rd day of treatment and feeling better but still have some itching and noticing signs of constipation. Is this normal? How long should I use these drops? ## You should follow the prescribing instructions regarding the duration of use. The itching and constipation can be side effects that some people experience from using it, according to FDA reports. You may also experience ear redness, irritation, and drainage. The sulfate is not an additional ingredient, it just specifies the precise chemical salt the medication has been derived from. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

Neomycin, Polymyxin b sulfate and Hydrocortisone otic suspension (exp 4/2008) was used in my eye in error. Will it be ok without having to see a doctor? ## Since this is not a sterile solution, like it would be for the eye, it would be best to have it checked out, just to be sure.
