I have no luck w/ traditional treatments; permethrin, lindane ## My dr. said my rash is scabies and gave me permthrin also,no luck.how do you know its scabies for sure? hi, I had a scabies attack, which i treated with permethrin lotion and accompanying oral medicines prescribed to me. However, i still have some itching and little rashes on the penile shaft and tip. Also nodule like itchy structures on the genitalia. I am aplying mometasone furoate cream, but it is not helping. Suggest a quick relief, as I am stuck in a rural area without access to doctors or good pharmacy. I have lobate GM with me as well. will it help? I too have oriel 5mg (levocetrizine) to take orally as well. Probably I hav a re-attack of scabies, but it will be another 10 days till I get proper treatment. prometherine for scabies ## I believe the drug you are referring to is Permethrin, this is an insectidal medication, so it would make sense as it is used to kill scabies since they are microscopic skin lice. Here's a link to the monograph for more information:

I have been to 4 different doctors, 2 being dermatologist. All seem to think I have scabies. I have done 2 different regiments of Permethrin 5pct. And 3 rounds of Ivermectin 15mg body weight of 180lbs. Now one year into treatments and problem seems even worse. I am now getting bites on my face area usually two at a time at random places on the facial and neck area. It needs to be noted that these areas are easier to kill the mite or whatever it is but chemical burns from the Permethrin appear before the mize of the mite. My understanding is that scabie mite do not effect adults from neck up??? I do not like to question Doctors, but this has gone on long enough and my wife who sleeps with me has not shown the first sign of infestation(thank goodness).
