BID means it is supposed to be taken twice daily. According to healthtap.com you should use a back-up method of birth control (ie. condom)while taking Nitrofurantoin. Since a website like this is open to use by people worldwide, it may not help much, if you live in New York and someone gives you an idea of the average prices in Seattle, Washington. The FDA lists the typical side effects for this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and diarrhea. Can you please post back and clarify? Thanks!

An antibiotic, such as Nitrofurantoin, only treats bacterial infections and this one is most commonly used to treat UTIs.
