Is there a lyrica cream for topical application? Does it work for peripheral neuropathy? How (where) is it available? ## Hello, Ruth! How are you doing? There is no actual manufactured cream that contains Lyrica/Pregabalin. Such creams are usually specially ordered by a doctor and then made by a compounding pharmacy, so they require a prescription. Learn more Lyrica details here. And, as with anything, some people get great results from them and some do not. You can only try one and see how it works for you. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I have a wheelchair bound client who says his feet hurt from not being used. The doctor gave an RX for Lyrica but told us to empty the capsule into any regular lotion and apply it to his feet for the pain. Client said it really helps. ## It is sometimes prescribed to be used like that and does help many people, some doctor's have it specially made from a compounding pharmacy, but this cuts out that step. The FDA lists the typical side effects as mostly being related to its topical use, so they may include skin redness, dryness, and irritation. Is it still working for him?

I cut off three of my middle fingers at the first joint 4 months ago. I was first prescribed Oxycodon by one doctor. I got worried about addiction and switched to a hand soecialist. He prescribed Tramodo and Lyrica. After 3 months of 150 mg twice a day I can;t walk without a cane, I've gained 20 pounds, I have short term memory loss plus a host of other related problems. I'm also taking Levetiracetam 500 mg AM and PM, another anti seizure med. I've got to come off Lyrica, but if the hand specialist balks at the idea, what kind of doctor can help wean me off Lyrica. I'm willing to tough it out with the pain. ## Hello, Jim! How are you? The issue here is that your problems may not be solely due to the Lyrica. The Levetiracetam can also cause such problems, these are fairly...

I've been taking 75mg pregabalin for three months now. How do I come off them without getting any side effects ? ## I have been taking 75mg. of Lyrica three times a day for about three months, and I want to stop it. How do I safely stop it to avoid withdrawal systoms? I have had blistered skin, fever, chills, headache, mood changes, just about the worse side effects listed. The fever is into the fourth week, I cry easily, I am depressed, I can not eat as I have so much gas that if I make myself eat, I vomit. Yes, it fixed my cold feet I have suffered from with Diabetic neuropathy for years. But, my life has become miserable. ## Hello, Arnie and Kathy! How are you both? A slow taper is usually best, if you've been taking it for a few months, or longer. Have you spoken with your re...

I've been prescribed Lyrica by my doctor. I pinched a nerve in my back 5 months ago and am still in pain. I have told her repeatedly that I am not feeling like myself while I'm taking Lyrica, my moods change drastically (I am normally a very bubbly person) i feel drunk, slur my words, forget things, forget whole conversations, and it's frustrating!!! I lost 15kg in a three week period, then gained it all back in a week and a half. My doctor does not want to listen to me when I tell her that this medication is not helping, in fact, it's making things worse. Some days I'm happy, next day I'll be curled up in bed crying. This has been going on for 5 months..... I've been to other doctors, but they just say keep taking it, it's just a small side effect. Readi...

I had horrible sides effects with Lyrica. Anxiety Attacks, Panic Attacks, Rapid Pulse, Suicidal thoughts, Pressure Headaches, Thought I was finally going crazy. Stopped taking 1 month ago, beginning to feel like my old self. Saw 3 doctors during this time and no one suspected the Lyrica ## Very odd, as these are prominently warned about in all Lyrica literature. ## I looked on Pzifer's wed site for side effects and the one's I experienced were not listed. Nor were there any warnings to this effect. That is why I kept taking it. Then I began to read websites and peoples actual experience and found common links. I only last night read this website and found the good and bad replies ## One thing that you need to know is that the side effects listed in the common monograph, like the...

I was placed on Lyrica only a few months ago (only 75mg) Did it help my pain from nerve damage? yes it did. However, I have been experiencing acute problems with my teeth...the latest...yellow teeth and several turning green...i swear...been crying for hours...also enamel on front teeth almost destroyed. I am aware of the dry mouth warning, but there's no excuse for this. If you are thinking of this med. do more research, PLEASE. The blogs are everywhere.... ## Thank you Cheryl! I'm not crazy. I was on Lyrica for almost a year. Every other month I'd brake a molar or a tooth. I didn't know what was going on. The worst part is that I spent thousands of dollars on jaw surgery and braces (as an adult) and all that work has gone down the drain. I now need dentures. Great! I t...

Is this also good for pain relief for neck pain. ## As far as small pains like neck pain from an accident. This drug is so not the best out of all the pain management type of things. They all have side effects that are some what simular and I know of only one person that I know that can take this drug without problems. For small things related to accidents, go with something else. I had all the side effects, my emoitions were off the chart, I lost my job within 3 days of taking this because I sat at my desk and cried for an hour after just one pill. I couldn't think, form sentences, I had a headache that was just incredible. There were alot more things I just can't remember all of them. Please remember people don't take these new drugs lightly. Research what the company says...

I used to take high doses of narcotics for severe neuropathy pain. That crap almost killed me and destroyed my life, leaving me destitute and homeless. I had to move in with my sister, and then some friends to stay off the street. I have been taking lyrica for several years and it helped, even while on the narcotics. Since going off the narcotics, I have relied entirely on Lyrica to deal with the pain. My doctor changed my dosage about a month or so ago to 300mg twice a day and soon to 300mg three times a day. The difference has been amazing and the neuropathy pain is almost completely gone while the Lyrica is in effect. I do have some side effects though, like headaches, dizziness, sleepiness but I don't care. Anything is preferable to the pain, except for narcotics. ## Lyrica has ...

Been on these meds for about 6 weeks on and off lyrica 225mg twice a day and clorazapate 7.5 twice a day. Am I physically dependent I want to be off them ## Hello, Bam! How are you? Both of these should be stopped slowly, via a taper, because stopping abruptly can create the risk of seizures. Thus, it would be best to consult your prescriber, so they can help you stop them carefully. The FDA lists other withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, fever, chills, depression and anxiety. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been taking Lyrica 75 mg 3xs a day for at least 10 years. These past few years I have been waking up with bladder pain and pressure every hour or so. Have been to Urologist, URI/Gynecologist, have had many tests and no one has an answer. I’m beginning to think my Lyrica has been causing it, but I definitely cannot go without Lyrica. It helps my Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy tremendously. Any thoughts or suggestions?? ## Keep taking the Lyrica. I take Lyrica 50mg 3 times a day. I can fly off the handle and have a short fuse and I'm beginning to think it's the Lyrica. ## Hello, Dan! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem you're experiencing. Yes, this class of medications has been known to cause mood swings, as a side effect, in some people that take it, according to FDA reports, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and weight gain. Have you informed your physician? You may need to try a lower dosage, or to try a different medication. Though, I must caution you against stopping it abruptly, since that could create the risk of seizures. ## Yep, just happened to me and I got on-line to see if it was possible to have a anger side affect. I took it an hour ago and have had 3 anger outburst over nothing. This ...

I have been taking Lyrica for several months now and have many side effects from this drug. I have gained 10-15lbs, have severe memory loss..simple word finding is difficult.. I have had major hair loss (clumps of hair falling out when wash my hair) and worst of all can not have orgasm because of this drug!!! I am titrating down now becuase side effects are not worth the minimal pain relief I am getting from this drug for fibromyalgia! ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems that you're having. Similar things have happened to others that have taken Lyrica. However, I do want to caution you to be very careful, when tapering off of it, because stopping abruptly could create the risk of seizures. I have cryptogenic liver disease. It has been looking well for several years. Will lyrica damage it any further? ## It is hard to say, most medications are processed by the liver and long-term use of them could cause damage. Have you discussed this with your doctor or pharmacist? ## i even had no idea that i even had a liverproblem it came out in a catscan that was to investigate my back... so this is new i have a apptm with a liverdoctor 2 weeks from now... ## I can't say I know the answer to this but when I asked my Pain Specialist if it will affect my liver, he told me it is not assimilated in the liver, it is filtered in the kidneys. My pain mgmt. person is taking me off of Lyrica due to it being highly addictive. I am 64 and have been on this med, in conjunction with Oxycodone 10mg, since it was on the market. Is it true that ALL pain mgmt. doctors are no longer prescribing Lyrica? It works so well for dealing with the severe stenosis problems I have. ## Hello Lory, Short answer is no, not all pain management doctors have stopped prescribing lyrica. What I will say is that the number of doctors refusing to prescribe these types of medication is growing due to the much stronger enforcement of opiods and other addictive prescription drugs. The reasoning for this is due in large part to the government's increasing regulation of the market. This crack down is in response to what people are calling the "opioid c...

I remember getting into the car and and driving in my neighborhood. Later I briefly woke up when I drove off the road onto the sidewalk and the emergency crew was there. Later, didn't know that I was in the hospital for 4 hours. They called it synope. I was asked to use a reduced amount completely. I could have been killed! ## Did they say it was definitely caused by the Lyrica? It is possible, but it can also be caused by many things. Syncope just describes a temporary loss of consciousness. If you have been advised to stop taking it, then you should definitely do so. Do you have any specific questions? ## As a nurse who was prescribed this medication in the past.
