Are ditropan and Toviaz`in the same family of meds? ## Hi Lynn, To answer your question directly, Toviaz (Fesoterodine) is in a class of medications called antimuscarinics. It works by relaxing the bladder muscles to prevent urgent, frequent, or uncontrolled urination. Ditropan (Oxybutynin) is in a class of medications called anticholinergics. Although it also works by relaxing the bladder muscles to prevent urgent, frequent, or uncontrolled urination. That said, they are in different drug categories, but nevertheless, they are indicated to perform in the same manner. I hope this helps answer your question!

Does anybody know which one of the two would be better for a severely overactive bladder? Have to go see a doctor on this but would like to have an idea before going and asking for a specific prescription. ## My personal experience, my doctor wanted to put me on Detropan, said it's highly effective. But my insurance would only pay for the Detrol LA. The first few days Detrol was great. Now, NOT so great so get a load of it: I had to make another appointment to discuss w/ my Dr. the drug he wanted to put me on in the FIRST place. He will, of course, have to fax my insurance company -- I don't know why he can't have that done WITHOUT me coming into his office?? Has anyone had their vision deteriorate while taking Ditropan? ## Common adverse effects associated with oxybutynin and other anticholinergics include: dry mouth, difficulty in micturition, constipation, blurred vision, drowsiness and dizziness.[7] Anticholinergics have also been known to induce delirium.[8] These are dose-related and sometimes severe.Ditropan is belonging to anticholinergic and it affects aquity of vision due to pupillary dilatation. ## Yes, that is correct, the FDA does warn about the possibility of blurred vision while taking this medication. I am taking ditropan for an incontinence problem. It seems to be working but the side effects are unbearable. I am experiencing severe abdominal pain like trapped wind and it has now been 11 hours of agony. ## That can be a side effect of this medication, according to the U.S. FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and blurred vision. How long have you been taking it? Have you informed your doctor? You may need to try a different medication. ## I was taking it for 8 days but have stopped now. I've seen my doctor and he is trying me on another tablet but I haven't plucked up the courage to try it yet. I am still having the stomach pains even after 4 days tablet free.

need to see what the pill looks like so I can find it among others in my medicne cabnet ## Unfortunately there are many, many of these pills, all made by different companies, they all look different and have different markings, because it is now available as a generic. The only way anyone can help you, without knowing the imprint, is if you are looking for the name brand pill, which clearly has Ditropan written on it. Otherwise, you will have to provide us with some imprints that we can look up for you. ## please let me know what a pill is....it's long and oval, reddish/rust in color, and has what looks to be a 1-2 on it. All of the medications you listed, as well as antidiabetic medications have been shown to be effective at treating the conditions they are intended to treat. That is why they have been approved by the FDA and are on the market. There is, however, no way to say which will be the most effective for you. The best thing to do is to discuss it with your doctor and try the medications that they recommend.

Ive been ditropan for a while and in the last few months have started having symptoms of dizzyiness and pressure in my forehead. Episodes last for a few hours. Im trying to find out if others are having simular issues or whether its an unrelated issue to ditropan. Have others experienced this? ## I am also experiencing dizziness and fatigue from this drug. I've been on oxybutynin now for about a year and a half. I've stopped taking this drug for about 2 weeks now. I was taking 15mg a day. It is used to treat anxiety and nervousness. ## Abe is correct with his ID, these types of pills are Benzodiazepines similar to Xanax or Valium. ## oxybutynin is marked M with an O5 underneath it and a lighter blue than oxycontin. i have a prescription for it, so butynin, so unless i've been given the wrong pill by the pharmacy for two years, you're wrong. ## if any of you would ever TRY the 4853 v, it is NOT oxycotin. it is for bladder control. If you are getting prescribed that for pain and get 60 of them then your lying. No one is that stupid.

I need to know if my doctor gave me the correct medication. This is supposed to be Ditropan XL 15mg but every picture of Ditropan XL 15mg looks different than this new pill I just got at the pharmacy. This is a new pharmacy for me so I just want to make sure I'm getting the right pill. one side has 38 and the other side 832 its a small whte pill ## I am not sure what word you were tying to convey in your title, but this pill is Oxybutynin, a generic for Ditropan this is used to help with urinary frequency and incontinence.

what generic drugs are avalible for frequency? ## Hello, Leslie! How are you? A generic was approved this past April, but it is not available on the market, yet. However, Ditropan, which contains the active ingredient Oxybutynin is available as a generic. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness and blurry vision. Is there anything else I can help with?

i found this pill and would like to no what it is but it aint showin up ? ## From what I can find, it seems this is a Canadian tablet that contains 5mgs of Oxybutynin, the active ingredient in Ditropan, which is used to help control urinary frequency.
