I had a complete hysterectomy and bilateral oopherectomy and have taken cenestin since that time. I do not have any comments other than, it seems to cause weight gain, and make weight loss more difficult. I found a baggie with several pills in it. My husband passed away with cancer. Wondering if he was hoarding pills for suicide. There are 2 other kinds of pills in the baggie also. ## Hello, Nan! How are you? I'm very sorry for your loss, that so tragic. As to this pill, it is manufactured by Barr Laboratories and they list it as being a 0.9mg Cenestin tablet, which is a synthetic estrogen. It is most commonly used for hormone replacement therapy. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.
