Ramipril Overview

Ramipril, sold under the brand name Altace among others, is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and congestive heart failure. By inhibiting an enzyme, ACE inhibitors relax the muscles around small arteries (arterioles). The arterioles expand and allow blood to flow through more easily. This reduces blood pressure. Ramipril Side Effects

i have been on 12.5mg of ramipril each day for the past 2 and half years. We have now got a new doctor in our practice and he says that it is a too high dosage for me and now has put me on 10mg of ramipril and 5mg of amlodipine. Could the high dosage of rampipril caused anything to me, i have my blood pressure checked every three months and bloods done every six months or can it do anything to me in the future. ## That's actually not a really high dosage, it can go up to 20mgs a day for hypertension. Why did he feel it was too high of a dose, were your blood pressure readings low, while you were taking it? Next question, why is it only being checked every 3 months? Are you checking it yourself, at home? ## I have not had a bowel movement in almost 4 months. Have had every test known...

APO Ramipril

how long does ramipril stay in the body 2EARE ## how long does altace 2.5mg stay in your body after you stop it? ## How long does ramipril remain in your body after stopping ## Hello, According to the FDA and NIH ramipril has a half life cycle of 3-16 hours and since it takes normally 4 to 6 half lifes for the drug to completely leave your body you are looking at between 12-96 hours, which a huge gap. Out of curiosity why do you need to know? Most people ask this question to determine when the earliest they can take a different medication is. If that's the reason for your question I would suggest waiting the maximum estimated half life of 96 hours before you take the conflicting medication just to be safe. Hope this answers your question.

Problem with the side effects of coveram 10/10

Hi I have been taking Coveram 10/10 for a little over 2 years now. In that time I have been suffering from the following symptoms. Headache, Chronic Fatigue, Ringing in the Ears, Sleep Insomnia. I have to get up to piss 6 times a night even though I have nothing to piss. When I wake up in the morning I dry vomit for no apparent reason and I feel as if I haven't slept all night. And best of All I am sleepy all the time, I even fall asleep at my desk at work. I don't recall having these issues prior to taking the Coveram and my wife tells me I'm apparently "normal" when I forget to take the daily tablet. My current life at present is miserable. Should I discontinue taking the Coveram? No one mentioned side effects when the Coveram was prescribed nor dispensed. ## Hello...

Amitriptyline and Ramipril

I have been taking amitriptyline for approx 16yrs and ramipril for 4 yrs. Is it safe to take these together? My dr has said new findings have come to light about taking these two together. I took amitriptyline for help with sleeping and have been off it for a week and now average 2hrs of sleep a night. ## The only thing I can find listed by the U.S. FDA is that taking them together may result in more lowering of your blood pressure than usual, so you may need a dosage adjustment on the Ramipril. Thus, you should be aware to watch out for any symptoms such as extreme dizziness, drowsiness, shallow breathing, or fainting. Did you doctor provide you with details about the findings he is talking about? Are you on any other medications? ## Hi dr did provide details I am now seeping better al...

Ramipril & Amlodipine

I have had high BP for some time, treated with 10 mg Ramipril. The readings have always remained on the high side. Today the GP has prescribed 5mg Amlodipine to be taken in combination with Ramipril. Does anyone have any personal experience of this? Reading the side effects of Amlodipine seems a bit scary. ## Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker and it has about the same risk of causing side effects as the Ramipril that you're already taking. However, the most important fact of relevance is that it's far more dangerous to let your blood pressure remain high than any possible side effects you may experience from a medication. Letting it remain high risks damage to your heart, which may be permanent, it also creates the risk of stroke, heart attack, congestive heart failure and...

Accidental double dose of ramipril and metformin

I forgot I had taken my meds in the A.M. and took another dose about 3 hours later. I haven't felt too good since. Should I be concerned or will time take care of it? ## Doubling up could cause you to experience more side effects, such as low blood sugar, low blood pressure, nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and diarrhea, according to FDA reports. However, in most cases, doing so just once isn't dangerous, but it is always wise to double check with your doctor, or pharmacist. How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects?

is riconia g safe for people with high chloestrol ## Doctor prescribed Ramipres mg with ostocalcium and Riconia.why Ramipres 2mg prescribed with ostocalcium and Riconia? or simply it was prescibed with vitamin. ## Riconia G is just a nutritional supplement that contains a variety of vitamins and minerals that are vital to your overall health. There is no harm in taking it, if you have high cholesterol, unless your physician instructs otherwise. The NIH does warn that it could cause nausea, and constipation, as side effects. Ramipres contains the active ingredient Ramipril, it is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, hypotension, and headache. Is...

Cardace H 2.5 - Side Effect

I am 55 year old woman. I have been taking Cardace 2.5 mg for the past 1 year. I get severe coughing bouts 4 to 5 times a day and then it stops. Has anyone observed such a side effect of Cardace? ## Which one are you taking, Cardace or Cardace-H? They both contain Ramipril, but the Cardace-H also includes Hydrochlorothiazide and, if this is the one you're taking, then the coughing might be due to some dehydration occurring from the Hydrochlorothiazide. Learn more Cardace details here. Learn more Hydrochlorothiazide details here. ## Yes, Ms Tanya.
