Omeprazole, sold under the brand names Prilosec and Losec among others, is a medication used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcer disease, and Zollinger–Ellison syndrome.[1] It is also used to prevent upper gastrointestinal bleeding in people who are at high risk.[1] Omeprazole is a proton-pump inhibitor (PPI) and its effectiveness is similar to other PPIs.[7] It can be taken by mouth or by injection int...

Has anyone had any problem with face swelling with this drug? ## My husband has been taking prilosec for years and he always wakes up with a swollen face. I thought it was because he does not get enough sleep at night or any other time. Does your swelling go away after you have been up for awhile or does it continue into the afternoon?
