Is Deplin A Form Of Vitamin For Deficientcy

Has anyone taken Deplin? Is the side effects harsh? ## Deplin contains the active ingredient "L-methylfolate"; which is actually considered to be a vitamin. Apparently L-methylfolate, the active form of the vitamin, folate, is the only folate that can be taken up by the brain where it helps balance the chemical messengers that affect mood (serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine). I think the information quoted below can help answer your question concerning side effects: "Folic acid is LIKELY SAFE for most people. Does it help how much do you take do you take other meds please tell me all you can about it ## Does anyone use deplin please respond ## Hi Theresa, Based on my research, Deplin is basically a derivative of folate (vitamin B9) that has been converted into L-methylfolate, in order to create serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain. I can't seem to find any specific details on dosing, other than average amounts ranging from 800 to 1000 mcg; so you may have to discuss that further with a doctor or naturopathic physician, unless otherwise stated on the product labeling. However, from what I've read, it still sounds like an excellent alternative to prescription drugs for the treatment of depression. Definitely worth considering in my honest opinion. I hope this input help...
