If this drug cyclobenzaprine 10mg,is a muscle relaxer and the heart is a muscle, if I'm taking 1 at a time, is there any danger in harming my heart muscle, if so what does it take to harm this muscle? ## In order for it do harm to the heart, per se, you'd have to either have a very bad reaction to it, or overdose on it, by taking too much. Otherwise, yes it is a muscle relaxant and, as such, it can cause depression of the central nervous system, which includes the heart, so it may cause your heart to slow down slightly. This is usually not significant in healthy individuals, with normal heart function. However, you should check with your doctor, to make sure it is safe for you to take it, especially if you've had any type of cardiac problem. Are there any other questions or ...

I have a prescription that was prescribed to me on 8/21/12 for muscle spasms and pain. Recently, have been have exact same symptoms as before. Is it safe to still take this prescription if there are still some left?? ## Hello, Debbie! How are you? The expiration is one year from when they were dispensed to you. After that, they tend to lose efficacy. As to the symptoms, you should consult your doctor rather than just assuming it is due to the same problem. Is there anything else I can help with? ## anyone with special interests in mind (the almighty dollar in this case) will tell you to get a new prescription. you will never get an answer to how long a drug keeps its potency because it isn't in their best interests
