Cortifoam Overview

Hydrocortisone, sold under a number of brand names, is the name for the hormone cortisol when supplied as a medication.[2] Uses include conditions such as adrenocortical insufficiency, adrenogenital syndrome, high blood calcium, thyroiditis, rheumatoid arthritis, dermatitis, asthma, and COPD.[1] It is the treatment of choice for adrenocortical insufficiency.[3] It can be given by mouth, topically, or by injection.[1] Stopping tr...

Each individual applicator delivers about (900 mg) of foam; which contains approximately (80 mg) of hydrocortisone as (90 mg) of hydrocortisone acetate. When used as directed, the aerosol container will deliver a minimum of 14 applications. Dosing and Administration: The regular dose is a single applicator-ful administered rectally once or twice daily for two or three weeks, and every second day thereafter.
