Cetirizine Overview

Cetirizine, sold under the brand name Zyrtec among others, is a second-generation antihistamine used in the treatment of hay fever, allergies, angioedema, and urticaria.[1] It acts as a selective antagonist of the histamine H1 receptor. Second-generation antihistamines like cetirizine are less able to cross the blood–brain barrier and therefore have diminished effects on the central nervous system compared to first-generation drugs. As such, they are less likely to cause drowsiness or m...

my 8 yr's son's throat is paining. is Relent effective for throat infection or dry cough ? ## What has your child's doctor advised? Relent Syrup contains Cetirizine and Ambroxol, it will not treat a throat infection and may be limited in what it will do for a cough. It's generally most effective at treating allergies. ## Hi, My daughter is having running nose and dry cough for the past one week. We took her to a doctor who suggested "Relent" syrup and "Zyprox" as she had throat infection. However, this is not much of a relief for her. Is there any medicine/syrup that need to be given for her running nose. Thanks ## hi you can gve ur daughter T-MINIC COUGH SYRUP You can also give ZYR COLD COUGH SYRUP this is a cure remedy as i am giving for my kid now ## M...

Anyone become allergic to Hydroxezine?
2 Replies RSS
First it was Cetirizine, then Doxepin, now Hydroxezine all in less than 3 weeks. Maybe my doctors are looking for a magic pill but does anyone have any advice or idea upon doxepin and Hydroxezine? Been over a month and my reactions are slowly getting better. Would Benadryl be bad? Doctors say it isn't but something is dragging my allergic reactions along after I stopped these medications. Owell I guess. ## Quit hydrox was allergic , messed up my vision. Doxepin 100 mg for 1 year for sleep. Works great. ## Takes a month or more for most psych meds to take effect and for most side affects to go away and thats from experience from trying and taking manu different psych meds

White round pill with A and a score line
Post a Reply
Hi, I've been taking Cetirizine 10mg and I take two because I find just the one doesn't really work. The two just takes the edge off... Anyway, I've got these three pills left over in another box for some reason. They are white, round and about the size of a pea. On one side it has the capital letter A and on the other side is a line straight through the middle; I don't know if that's just there for it to be split easier in half or not... Can anyone please tell me whether it is the Cetirizine 10mg or not? It would be much appreciated. I think Benadryl is the best allergy relief tablet even though the doctors say the same ingredient that is in Cetirizine is in Benadryl, but sorry I can definitely tell the difference, thanks xx

Syrup Relent

Do we get relent syrup seperately for babies or its the same 60ml bottle? Is it safe to give relent+ syrup for 5 months old baby? ## Relent syrup contains cetirizine 2.5 mg + ambroxol 30 mg; per 5mL From what I could gather, the prescribing information for this drug notes the following: Children: 6 month's - 2 years old: 2.5 mg once daily (up to 2.5 mg bid in children =12 months). There are no dosing indications for children under 6 months of age, but since your child is only 1 month away from that, I would suggest talking to your doctor about this just to be on the safe side. I hope this helps! ## If your Paediatric doctor recommend it Relent+ syrup can be given to 6 month old child as dosages suggested by doctor. ## My son is suffering from running and watery nose and 11 months old...

Okacet (Cetirizine) tablet for a cold
2 Replies RSS
Can i take a Cetrizine hydrocholride 10 mg tablet twice daily for a cold? I am a 60 year old lady. ## This is an antihistamine that is used to treat allergies, it will not help with a cold and the symptoms caused by a cold. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## 100% incorrect. Certirizine is incredibly effective for headcolds. It clears sinuses way FASTER than a decongestant.

Found a small unmarked container of these. One side is blank the other says 10 P seperated by a line in the middle. Thanks for any help. I searched Google and all related sites to no avail. ## Found the same pills, did you ever find out what they were? ## I think it is a allergy pill call cetirizine hydrochloride. I have the same pill in a bubble pack with that name. ## Hi Mikey, Do you happen to know who manufacturers these or what the National Drug Code / DIN # is on the packaging? I've been searching for a way to cross reference your finding (re: cetirizine), but so far haven't located any specific details that would connect the dots so to speak... What dosage is it supposed to be? Also, are you based in the US? This is the country I reside in, so perhaps where ever you are t...

I have a one-year old daughter and she has allergies. She also has rashes on her face, hands, and legs, and is frequently attacked by asthma. Her pediatrician prescribed alnix drops 2.5ml for two weeks and then 1ml once a day until she reaches 2 yrs old. I am having doubts the fact that alnix drops have its side effects on babies. Is it really safe to take alnix drops for more than two weeks? I hope you could answer my doubts. Thanks! ## Cetirizine is an antihistamine, that is commonly used to treat allergies. In the U.S. it is most commonly found under the trade name Zyrtec and is quite often used for children and, when necessary, is used on a long-term basis. In most cases, when someone suffers from such severe allergic reactions, it is necessary that they take some type of medication...
