Weaning Off Xarelto 15 Mg Process
Updatedat the age of 79 triple bypass at 83 showing a fib on halter monitor . 15 mg xarelto started. Last year (7/14/15), st jude clinical trial pacemaker placed in left ventricle doing well but since bypass (5 years previous) began having memory issue (dx early dementia) and taking nemantine (20 mg bid) and (10 mg qd) Aricept. uses inhaler two puffs (bid) Symbicort (not always compliant w this med) question (finally) quality of life affected w xarelto his primary dr didn't even understand why he was placed on the drug (since a massive amt of seniors are walking around with a fib and just on aspirin therapy. his cardiologist said he needed it. I just retired as an RN ed tripped one day and landed on his hip and had a massive bruise his hands are bruised he cant work in the garden he is becoming more and more isolated because of his appearance I am not in denial over the early dementia. He still reads the NY times follows stock market (and of course his favorite for last 20 years Judge Judy) I digress why do men his age like her so much? anywy would like to wean him from xarelto and back to aspirin (not asking for permission on the internet) just want to know if this is done He has had a few skin ca's removed and was required to be off for a few days. PS anesthesiologist friends told me that his sudden decline most likely had to do w anesthesia and being on the pump for so long during heart surgery at 79. "pump head syndrome" He improved (memory wise) greatly (now I wonder if it was even necessary for him to have the dementia medication, but am hesitant to have his md discontinue those I just want him to have the best quality of life that he can aka Joy didn't mean to go on this much
