I know i am allergic to sulfites. Sulfates is not the same and i am okay with that. Sulfates is in both meds. I broke out with hives the furst time i used ventolin. I am not sure if it was from ventolin. I am wondering if it is different from the other.

My husband is deathly allergic to sulfites. On may 12,2014 I took him to er for shortness of breath. They gave him a albuterol inhaler. I asked them did it have sulfites in it . They said they didn't think so .The next day he said his throat was sore. Then he couldn't breath. He ended up on life support for 6 days in critical care for 9 days.I know it has sulfates but somehow sulfites in some form was in it.K
