Can anybody tell me what I am going to feel lIke, will I have withdrawal symptoms the whole time?? I take 100m a day, I'm a little scared of how I'm gonna feel, can somebody help???

Out of curiosity... how did it go? Were you able to come off the methadone safely and comfortably??

I don't plan to just drop off to nothing right off the bat, I'll be going down by 5 mg a week, which will take like 6 to 8 months, that will cut out most of the withdrawal symptoms won't it?? I will not be able to work my job while going through any kind of withdrawals, I will be under the eye of the doctor and counselors at the clinic, is there anybody that has done it like that and can tell me how I will feel??

Sorry but your in for a rough ride.Methadone withdrawal is much more severe and longer in duration than other opiates .First week or two are the worst .I'm pretty sure your aware of the physical aspects of methadone withdrawal, but words can not describe what your going to go through. It took me about 3 weeks to get through the worst of it,then came the psychological part of it which people don't really talk about much that took another month to get through.do not let that discourage you,it can be done.what's a month or two in relation to the rest of your life.

Yes I get it through the clinic here in town and they are gonna control my doses and how fast or slow I titrated down but I just wondered what I was really in for

It is very hard to say. Methadone is known to create severe withdrawal symptoms, that's why most people never actually get off of it and end up on a lifetime maintenance dose.

Thus, any attempted tapering off of it must be done very, very slowly and can take a good period of time.

Have you considered getting medical assistance?
