I'm sorry, but you forgot to mention which medication you were asking about. Can you please post back and clarify?

Most sedative hypnotics, such as Ambien and Lunesta do require a prescription, due to the risk of problematic side effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hallucinations and sleep actions. They also sometimes risk being habit forming.
