I am 61 years old. I am using Eritel -40 mg (Telmisartan) for the last 6 years, due my BP. Further no BP noticed, but I am still using the medicine. My doctor told me dont stop. My doubt is whether there is any chance of side effect due to this medication for a long time? If so what are the chances?

Verwon Says:

These are different medications, since Eritel contains Telmisartan, while they are both used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions, you should take the medication your PCP has instructed you to take.

The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

RajaG are you asking about long-term side effects? Can you please clarify?
